We inspected all the parts prior to putting together. It looked as if we had everything we needed. The board for the latter had a notch in it which we thought was intentional. After putting the entire bed together there is a 1 inch notch on the ladder that isn’t supposed to be there even though it’s painted. I reached out to IKEA and they stated I would need to bring the entire bed back to the store even though it’s already put together. Do you live an hour away so it’s not possible. Very disappointed in this purchase.

My husband and I have bought and built lots of furniture from IKEA, but this was one of the most frustrating to put together. The bed slats have to be hammered into place with plastic bolts, but the holes weren’t drilled well in the wood, so we had to drill them out again ourselves, and it was still a pain to hammer in dozens of these things.Also, after if was all assembled, I noticed a spot where the wood was sloppily cut right on the side of the ladder. (There’s a cut right through the side of the wood, painted over, so it should have been caught by quality control.)Otherwise, it seems very sturdy, and our girls love it. Pretty much what we expected for the price from IKEA.

Great bed. Boys love it.it’s sturdy and safe and reliable HOWEVER! The website and the tag on the actual bed state it is 90x200 (cm) but since buying the bed for a small room it actually measures once up and complete is actually 96x206(cm) which makes a huge difference in a small room when space is tight. Dimensions are the first thing you check so it becomes a massive struggle when all of a sudden the measurements aren’t actually right! That’s the main reason for 4 stars instead of 5. IKEA need to re measure and update the dimensions.
Good price, good quality, sturdy bunk bed. A bit time-consuming to put together and most likely will need another person to help putting the two ends of the bed together, I had my 6 y/o son and had o issues with that. If you don't pay close attention or interpret the instructions correctly the first time, you might need to go back a few steps. Other than that it's a great product. As for longevity, too soon to tell, we just got it a few weeks ago.
After looking at several bunk beds for my boys after graduating from a toddler bed and crib, we chose the IKEA Mydal. It took a few hours to put together as expected, but directions were straightforward and the quality feels sturdy. Fits standard twin mattresses and my boys love it.
Bought this for my two kids (3/5). Great for both of them, they absolutely love it. Just added a couple of handles for the top of the ladder to help my oldest get up. Compared to others like it great price and perfect for the space
I bought this online without having seen it in person. We are 100% pleased. It took an afternoon to build, and it feels quite solid. It doesn't take up a lot of space at all. Also, it's quite pretty in white and the style is rather neutral.
We wanted to have comfortable, safe beds for our grandchildren to use when they visit. These are perfect. Granted, they do take 2 people a few hours to put together, but imo worth it for a non-toxic, solid wood product. These beds are very affordable, especially when compared to other brands, and the fact that these are solid, natural wood was a major factor for us. We also bought an 8 unit Kallax to store their clothing. Grandkids love having their own space.
We night this bunk for my son's room. I shopped around alot and this was the best price for a good sized bunk by far. The height is great. I m able to sit on the bottom bed to read stories to him without my head touching the top bunk.The top bunk is fully surrounded by railing so he can't fall out.Bed feels solid.The build however was horrendous! Several of the planks had not had their holes pre drilled. Many of the holes were incorrect and my husband spent 3-4hours building the bed. Thankfully he is cluey with that sort of stuff and handy on the tools. I would not have been able to build the bunk and I am usually good at ikea flat packs.Once built though it was totally worth the pain and effort.
