Ilford RC warm tone printing paper is an essential tool for any print enthusiast wanting flexibility in printing images of nature, people and bright settings. I love the images it helps me make and perfectly matches my expectations using all filters. The paper is firm tho not as heavy as older double thick paper. The pearl finished is breathtaking in beauty tho I also love the glossy and silk options too for different uses. Adorama is also a great supplier and I appreciate their prices, service and varieties to choose from for my darkroom.

Most of my photography involves stone architecture and the warmer tones of this paper is far better for this application and others, I was pleased to find it was still made.

This is my all time favorite paper. The warm tone is beautiful, especially when used with the warmtone developer. And the pearl finish is fantastic.

I make multiple -image assembled portraits. Each fragment is about 3 1/2x5; each printed from a different close-up negative. The resulting portraits are about 3'x5'. I trim each fragment and then scotch-tape them together and constantly rearrange and reposition until the arrangement feels finished to me. Then, with an X-acto knife and straight edge, I cut all of these layered fragments down to single layer. I mount the taped up piece onto acid-free foam-core and them all of the tape comes off.I develop the paper in LPD developer and selenium tone them ever so slightly until the blacks take on a hint of a reddish tint. I love the tonal qualities that I can get out of it.Please don't discontinue this paper!
Love the warmtone over cooltone paper. Great quality paper especially for first time users like myself
This paper has a wonderful tonality. The base is slightly warm and gives a subtle warmth to your image. Also this paper tones well. And with different toners, different results. Overall, I consider the my favorite Rc Paper. A+++
It's been over a decade since I was in a darkroom (in college), but when I decided to set one up in my basement, I wasn't sure what paper to go with. I knew I wanted to start with RC (less expensive than fiber, and I'm still in the process of re-learning), and wanted something in between matte and glossy. This paper from ILFORD looked promising to me, although I was hesitant to get toned paper for fear of it being too extreme. So I started with a pack of 25 sheets to make sure I liked it. I'm loving it. The warm tone is very subtle (to my eyes), which is perfect for the look I'm going for. It's been easy for me to settle back in to using the darkroom with this paper. The prints look great and it dries relatively flat. For the foreseeable future, this is my go-to ... MoreIt's been over a decade since I was in a darkroom (in college), but when I decided to set one up in my basement, I wasn't sure what paper to go with. Proofing old boxes of 5X7 negs that were logged in 40 years ago but never proofed. I'm purging bad duplicates. Interesting how many memories come up when you can reference a visual image. I can remember the trip, the site, who was along, what lens and camera, et. Pre-cut 5X7s speed things up. Usually I just hack up 8X10. Very handy.
This is an excellent paper for Portraiture. I find the warm tone more eye appealing than the cooler tones of the other b/w papers from Ilford. This is a multi-purpose paper and gives fine results with landscapes as well.
The only way to tell this paper is warm is to place it right next to the same print from a cold or neutral paper. However, it is a beautiful paper and the tone is nice. I favor cream tone and ilford but with this paper I did not get quite there. Will test some toners next but the purpose of this review is to let you know that if you expect a true intense warm tone, you will be dissapointed.
