I have been in love with Ilia for years and Love the skin tint which I use daily. The eyeshadows are the best formula and most beautiful colors, the lip mask is heaven. I own so many of their products and have purchased them more than once. The foundation needs work. I own two shades and still can’t find a match. Application is also difficult and I am unable to get that flawless look regardless of the tool use. Primer or not it looks patchy when it dries. I want to love this as much as I love every other product but after 2 failed shades I can’t.

Favorite foundation of all time! I seriously love this stuff. I think this is my 4th bottle. I’ve used it for a while (I don’t wear makeup every day) and it always looks flawless on my dry skin. I’ve found that it really pairs well with Coola’s organic sunscreen in the blue bottle, as well as oil-based skincare. I’ve never used anything that was so buildable, non-drying but not overly dewy, and completely natural looking in my life. I always get compliments on my skin while wearing this. I prefer to apply with my fingers and kind of tap it into the skin the same way you would with a beauty blender. I don’t set it since I have dry skin, and never have any issues with it fading, settling, etc. It’s my “holy grail”, as they say.

I was searching for a new foundation after The Ordinary discontinued theirs. I used to be 2.0p in The Ordinary Serum Foundation. I went for the shade 'Balos' with this foundation, which isn't perfect for me, a bit too dark but might work better in peak summer. The consistency is very similar to The Ordinary that I'm trying to replace (the ingredients are also very similar). I have also ordered Ilia's other foundation, the Super Serum, and contacted them directly to ask for their recommendation for which shade I should choose, (sent a photo of myself make-up free and in daylight). I love several products from Ilia. I have Rosacea and their products definitely help keep my skin calm while giving me good quality makeup I can wear without irritating my skin. BUT, the jar that the make-up is in is awful! I thought the first time I got it that maybe I had a fluke, but after the second bottle, I know that it's just poor packaging. The part where you pump out the makeup starts leaking and it leaks quite a bit of product and when you're already spending a good amount on the makeup you don't want it wasted. The bottle needs to be redone so it doesn't eventually leak out of the top where you pump the product out. It gets sticky and harder to get the product out as it builds up and dries. You also cannot travel with their bottle, because it leaks ... MoreI love several products from Ilia. Never discontinue the shade Cozumel! (Oops, I got shouty, but it’s worth it!). It is the ONLY shade out there (and I’ve tried them all) that actually matches my skin! As someone with light somewhat muted neutral olive skin, this is the only foundation I can actually wear! The only other shade that comes close is the oiliest formula on the planet and I can’t even wear it for an hour with powder. If you are comparing this shade to Hickory in the stick formula, I would say it is slightly darker and more orange. I have tested the stick and it looks slightly off on me so they are definitely similar shades, not the same. I personally wouldn’t wear Hickory for this reason. Yes, I want everything...clean products that match my skin and enhance my complexion. I have discovered with age that certain foundations will settle into the lines on the face. I am still looking for that "clean" foundation that blends well, and after a few hours does not settle and dry into those pesky lines of age.I am guessing that the mineral base used is the culprit. The quality felt great, maybe a bit to "liquidy". A thicker solution would not drip off my fingers. I use a good daytime and nighttime moisturizer so I don't think it is my skin. My former foundation did not do that. Onward ho!
The first foundation that truly matches my skin tone. I have sensitive skin (though everyone is different) and this foundation does not make my skin itch or irritated. It is smooth and not heavy. Buildable coverage. Love that its not orangey. It looks so natural. Smells natural, like clay, which is not the best smell but that's ok. I like that it has benefits as well like the niacin amide. Overall, the best looking foundation.
Just wow! Was apprehensive at spending so much on a product I couldn’t test first, particularly for colour. Found the process to choose a shade simple, and it was pretty accurate when it arrived- just a little darker, however after a couple of weeks of spring sunshine my skin tone had slightly darkened (as it does every summer) and it was perfect. Feels lovely when applied- a little goes a long way. A tiny bit greasier than my previous brand, however after a few days I didn’t notice this and it feels really lovely and moisturising on my skin. Lightweight and not sticky or clumpy. Best natural foundation I’ve ever used. Seems to be lasting quite a long time, but I only use a small amount.

The biggest problem with being so pale is when you find a foundation that looks perfect at first, only for it to oxidize into a horrible orange later in the day. This foundation does not oxidize orange on me! I prefer a more yellow warm undertone in my makeup and I'm very pleased with the longevity, glow, and eveness this gives me. I set it with Saie translucent setting powder, and the color is flawless! (I'm wearing shade Cozumel SF 1.75.) I was worried this would feel greasy and slide off my face or rub off onto clothes, but so far with the setting powder I haven't had any issues.
