Snaps together, but stays closed securely with no looseness or gap, is compact and solidly made, works fine, no problems. The M.2 Also snaps in, without any screws, but it is fine, it's safe and doesn't wiggle. Comes with 2 very short USB 3 cables, one C to C and one A to C - they are abt 6-8 inches long, nice bonus! As for transfer speed, there are many factors which will determine your speed, obviously the M. 2 drive you put into it, your system, etc, but in my experience it's been superb. I have found it to be a stable and problem-free drive enclosure.

The SSD-reader is very good one. It can read M.2 and SATA laptop SSD devices. I bought it to extract the information from my old laptop and my SSD was with the "old" SATA interface (M+B key). Although, this type of SSDs should be readable from the device (according to the product description) I was somehow skeptic about this. Anyway, I decided to take the risk and buy it and loosing my money. Luckily, my skepticism was unreasonable and I was very happy that at the end I retrieved my information. One remark, to have access to your personal directory on Windows OS (Documents, Downloads, etc.) on the SSD you should be logged-in as an Administrator (or to remember your old Username and Password).

This is a well made product, easy to install the NVMe drive into, and comes with two high quality usb cables that actually make a good connection as apposed to a top name brand backup drive I have that came with a very cheap usb cable.
