Ralph Roberts has an incurable case of insomnia, but lack of sleep is the least of his worries. Each night he stays awake, he witnesses more of the odd activity taking place in his town after dark than he wants to know. The nice young chemist up the street beats his wife and has delusions about beings he calls "The Centurions." A madman with a knife is trying to kill him, he's sure. And on the night May Locher died, one of the two bald men coming out of her house had a pair of scissors in his hand. What does it all mean? Ralph doesn't quite know. But the bizarre visions he's been having keep getting more intense, the strange deaths in Derry have just begun, and Ralph knows he isn't hallucinating.Returning to the town of Derry, Maine, the setting of one of his most critically acclaimed novels, It, Stephen King combines bone-chilling realism with supernatural terror to create yet another masterpiece of suspense.

This is my 3rd or 4th read of a King spectacular novel. But, then again, aren't they all? I lost a lot of sleep with this book. You don't want to put it down. Read it, turn the pages, don't you dare to try putting it down. Those little men may have you marked. I dare you to read, then listen to INSOMNIA.

This is the first King novel I've ever started and lost interest in the beginning. It was months before I started on it again. The beginning is a bit slow, which is unusual for King, and it took a determined effort to get me going again. However, the story certainly was worth the effort. This is another of King's novels which involves the Crimson King, for all you constant readers, and is worth slogging past the beginning to settle in for a lively story. Here King touches on the unique problems of the elderly, and how they try to cope with all the unpleasant and unpleasant aspects of this time of life. The insomnia leads to some strange happenings that coincide with other unusual events in the spooky town of Derry (home of Pennywise the Clown from It), and the hero of the day is the elderly gent unable to sleep. Without his intervention, the final Dark Tower book would have been a lot different! In sum, a great read with a slow beginning, but well worth the effort.

The book is in great shape and was very inexpensive! Stephen King is my favorite author and I bought this as a replacement for the book I lent out that was never returned.

Love the book. Came on time and its in good condition. Just wish it had the dust jacket.
I enjoyed this book years ago and wanted to add it to my collection. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find it is a hardcover edition, and in very good condition. Thank you.
I've read this book 3 x's because there's just so much that you can miss the 1st couple times. Well written as all King books are, this one is a little more "out there" than some of his others. I lost my copy of this book when I moved a few yrs ago so I bought this one to replace the lost one. I is in excellent condition and a 1st edition. I recommend this one to all the King readers who may have missed it. First time King readers should not start with this book however, it's one of those books that have a lot of the authors hidden messages from previous books.
Absolutely in love with the book wish it had a cover snd wasnt such a bad crease but for the price Id buy it again.
To enjy this book, you have to susend disbelief, as you do when reading Tolkien. Stephen KIng's imaginary Derry, Maine, is as magical, and freqently as dangerous, as Middle Earth. From commonplace beginnings, a widower in late middle age who suffers from insomnia and then begins to see visions and dream dreams that are uncanny, to strange adventures; some of them with the woman he later marries, to a cataclysmic finale... but I mustn't spoil it for new readers. Some familiar characters, such as Mike Hanlon the town LIbrarian, familiar from 'It', have walk-on - walk-off roles. The are a few overlaps with other Stephen KIng novels. It you enjoyed them, you will like this one.
While Stephen King may see this as a failure, I feel it is far from that. It was a very good read and to this constant reader a beautiful story that kept me guessing throughout. The length of the story I felt necessary in many ways. I feel it is at least in the top half of his writings.
Thank you wonderful product and price 5*
