A tremendous amount of design and engineering went into this product. Which is unfortunate, because it's garbage. There are two main reasons why. Or maybe 3 or 4.First of all, the "user interface" is terrible. It has one "button", which is activated by squeezing or pressing it against its holder. What that button does is a mystery. You can configure it to do different things based on a single click or double click and whether it's on or off at the time you click it. Unfortunately, the only feedback is an LED and a vibration buzz. Did you just start recording or stop? Is it currently on? You can connect it to your phone to find out, but that takes extra time, saps even more battery (see below), and the phone app is almost as confusing. This really kills the ability ... MoreA tremendous amount of design and engineering went into this product. Which is unfortunate, because it's garbage. There are two main reasons why. This really kills the ability to just grab this thing and start recording. You will miss the moment, and you will absolutely miss important footage. Basically every time I use this camera, I end up having to scrap my project because I didn't manage to record the most import part.If you can get past the terrible UI and actually start recording, the next problem is that it will overheat and shut down after a couple of minutes. When I first got this thing, it was in the middle of the summer and I thought maybe I was being unfair. But now we have cooler weather and it's just as useless. I got 3 minutes and 40 seconds out of it today. And when it stops, you don't know it stopped, so it's just a huge disappointment when you go to review the clips and you don't have them.If it didn't have a bad UI and didn't overheat, the battery life is still lousy. It comes with a charging case that doubles as a micro-tripod and has a little screen so you can change settings, but with the above-mentioned overheating problem, I've never found charging on the go to be an option.I really wanted to love this product. I like being able to record hands-free, and I've owned a bunch of wearable cameras over the years. Unfortunately, this one goes in the junk drawer with the others. I can't take any more disappointment of spending a hours on a project only to find out the Insta 360 Go 2 ruined it by failing to capture video. Which is basically its one job.

I’m so disappointed in this camera and Insta 360s customer support. If you’re considering buying this camera, or another from Insta 360 I recommend you look for another brand.I purchased this camera bundle and was never able to use it. I’m very tech savvy but could not get the app to connect to the camera. After following the troubleshooting instructions, I messaged Insta360 support within the app. Not only did their customer care rep take on average 18 hours to respond, they were also no help.I was told that there is nothing they can do to help me connect the camera and that they no longer offer service center support for this model. In other words, if you purchase this camera and it doesn’t work, your out of luck, and money. Not only that, I was told that my ... MoreI’m so disappointed in this camera and Insta 360s customer support. If I return the current one and pay the difference for a more expensive model, that camera would be under warranty… like what???This product is a rip off and I’m highly disappointed. I had the original insta360 Go camera and loved it and it is such a disappointment to find that this version is a piece of garbage. But even more disappointing to find that Insta360s customer care doesn’t really care.

Battery too old that it only worked for 10 minute intervals and there was no backup batteries. No protective elements for lens. Camera was unrealizable and would not save random shots. Lost lots of footage. There was a short in the charging cable that made it so I lost a morning of shooting for the camera didn’t charge like it was supposed to. The sound was broken and did an awful job of recording sound…no clue how I am going to deal with that. Sound is unusable. Really needed a hub to get data off cards. The only other method runs the camera for hours and hours and doesn’t work on many computers. Had to try it on. 4 different computers before we finally found a way to jerry rig it to work on an old surface 1 computer. I would have purchased a hub, but they are not available unless you purchase one with the camera.

If your a shy photographer/videographer this little action camera is ideal for you. Tough. Waterproof & simple to useGreat quality video with lovely colours easily edited on most mobile phones using the 360 app or more advanced editing on a pc or laptopEasy to pop in a pocket & take everywhere & the saying goes.. The best camera to have is the camera you have with you.Yes mobile phone cameras are great nowdays but this goes further with lots of recording options that can also be changed for perspective & field of view etc later during editing. Highly recommended
I have greatly enjoyed my time with this camera, it is clear that a lot of care went into designing it and its accessories. The case/remote is incredibly useful in combination with the very creative mounting options you can explore using just the included accessories. Video quality is surprisingly good, but ultimately just about what you'd expect from an action-camera type thing of this size. I wouldn't recommend it as a photo camera, though, since the photo resolution is very low.The smartphone experience could be a bit better, as pairing and activating the camera was a bit of a pain. The online activation is especially worrying since those servers won't be around forever! The computer experience, however, is where this thing really shines.A lesser manufacturer ... MoreI have greatly enjoyed my time with this camera, it is clear that a lot of care went into designing it and its accessories. The online activation is especially worrying since those servers won't be around forever! The computer experience, however, is where this thing really shines.A lesser manufacturer would have passed this device off as something that's purely an app camera, but this just hooks up to your computer via USB-C* where you can transfer all your files and edit them using their Insta360 Studio software, or their various plugins for other video editing software. All in all, I think it's worth a try if you're fine with prioritizing versatility over pure image quality.*(It ONLY supports A-C cables though, no C-C! You have to use an adapter if your computer only supports Type-C)
I like the photo and video quality becomes pretty decent after processing. Really like how it clips to shirt with a magnetic pendant. However, several drawbacks:1. Battery timing is very short and it takes very long to charge it again (even in the case)2. The vibration feedback whether the camera is successfully turned on or off is very poor. There is some short and long vibration that is very hard to differentiate especially if you are moving (which most of the time you will be when you have this camera).3. The front LED is not very helpful, as most of the time when recording the photo/videos it will be facing away from you so there is no way you will be able to see that flashing LED. I wish there was an LED on top and bottom of the camera so we could see when it was clipped to shirt or hat. The front LED is just painfully useless.4. The camera app is just very clumsy and slow in processing the videos. The camera disconnects and reconnects even when you want to check a message or take a call and it taken like one minute to reconnect which is such a waste of time. Also, it processes the video very slowly which is frustrating when you have slightly longer video clips.5. Cannot take longer time-lapse. It decides to turn it off automatically after taking only half an hour of time-lapse. What if you want a time-lapse that is 2 hours long? No option of that.6. The memory is only limited to 32 GB, and you have to make sure you download it in your phone app. Maybe it would have been better to put a small slot for external memory card so that a user could have decided how much space they would need.7. The photos straight out of the camera using a PC/MacBook come distorted and you have to use an app like Premier Pro to flatten it out. The photos are not straightened out in Lightroom and it was such a pain to deal with these distorted photos/videos.
I wanted to like this camera but I've wasted too much of my time just trying to get it to work. First I spent 2+ hours getting it to connect via WiFi. It turns out that it will not connect via WiFi in the presence of other WiFi devices, so I had to go out in the backyard to get it to connect. Then I spent an hour getting it to accept a firmware update. I went out and took some video with it, but after 2+ more hours of aggravation, I have not been able to get the video files to download to my PC. The USB keeps disconnecting. For the record, I've tried two different cables and with the case open and closed. The USB port will only stay connected for 5-10 seconds during a transfer. Insta360 support is just awful. This is an awesome mini action camera. It is so small and easy to use. The app syncs up very easily with the camera and can be used to view your videos as there is no screen on the camera or case itself. The mounts included are very useful. The necklace and hat clip are awesome. I use this camera with the hat clip to take videos of my young children while we are out doing things. It is a great way to participate in the activity while recording it. The desktop app is great and very easy to use. I want my kids to have videos of the little things we and this camera rules at getting those kinds of clips. This camera is going to get worn out this summer. I can't wait. Get it and start recording your activities without a bulky camera on your head or in your hand.
It is SO EASY to take this camera along on trail runs or on MTB rides. The magnet/pendant method is my favorite (stays attached securely) although the POV is a teensy bit high when walking/running. I see that someone on Etsy offers 10% and 20% downward tilt attachments and I might end up getting those. Battery life is pretty short but I was expecting that. The Android app connects to the camera consistently, although it takes longer than I'd like, so I'm learning how to adjust the settings using the camera-in-case. The UI is awkward IMO. Overall, I love it! More convenient than my GoPro for a quick grab & go.
