I simply adore my Instant Pot. It is a wonderful time saver and makes such lovely meals for my Wonderful husband Rob! I briefly owned a pressure cooker that made me nervous, scared the tar out of my birds, and just didn't work for us. Instant Pot is safe, reliable and soooo easy. I have made great stews, perfect rice, and am just thrilled with this little appliance. It's utterly silent and produces great product. Just sorry I waited so long to try it. (:

I bought this lid so that I could use it when making yogurt with my instant pot. I also purchased the 8qt ceramic inner pot from instant pot. This lid fits PERFECTLY on my inner pot. It's snug as can be. At first I thought it was the wrong size, but then I realized it's meant to be super snug. It locks on tight and seals the heat in. But I will say that I would use the regular lid for keeping meals warm. I think this lid lets out too much heat to effectively keep meals warm. It's great for yogurt though.

This is not a compensated comment. Verified purchase. This product shows the quality is there. Instant Pot demands quality on their products, for the price is excellent. It fits the Instant Pot perfectly, like any other glass product you must observe precautions, try to avoid going from hot to cold, give it some time to get closer to ambient temperature, try not to drop it, and overall handle with care, the product will last a long time if you do so. I would recommend this product.

The lid is pretty standard. The inner-groove, between the glass and the lid's mouth, could be difficult to clean once food/seasoning(s) gets stuck in-between. The handle doesn't seem to get too hot, but the glass/fiberglass definitely will.It really helped in a pinch when I lost the silicone cap for the pressure cooker lid (using the steam function, according to manual). Although, the chicken I tried to "pressure cooked did seem a lil' dry (due to the overall different function - but the experimental cooking had to go on!). So, overcooking proteins seem pretty easy (using the same time suggestions for the pressure cooker function â€" since I didn't want to chance undercooking the chicken). Lets me use the saute function of the instant pot with minimal mess. Being able to view the cooking process is nice. The construction is ideal and the vent hole is the deal changer from my old makeshift glass lid that would just rattle. I put this on and it enhances the cooking by trapping that heat and steam in saute and in warming mode.
OK, it's a lid...big deal. Except, it's a lid that fits on the 6qt Instant Pot liner. This makes the IP a much better slow cooker. I also used it to boil water for pasta. This lid is also much easier to clean than the actual IP lid since I can throw this lid into the dishwasher.As a bonus, this lid fits my old-school 8qt T-Fal pressure cooker, so now that is more versatile as well. I use that with my induction burner as a make-shift sous vide setup. Works like a charm.So yeah, it's just a lid, but it really extends the usefulness of my IP. I like that!
I bought this because I thought I should, without knowing if I really needed it. I had not planned to cook sufficient to need to store excess in the fridge still in the removable cooking pot but it instantly became necessary. That caused the lid to be the most useful optional accessory. Very glad I bought it. i still haven't cooked anything for long enough, without pressure, to make the lid useful for that too but that day will come. Definitely a useful accessory and the quality is undeniable.
I don't like having splatter when I use the 'saute' function & when I use the 'slow cook' mode, I need a lid to keep the heat in my instant pot. So I purchased this to set on the inner pot. I washed it when I received it & being clumsy, managed to drop it on my concrete floor...but it received no damage. It's made VERY well, heavy duty, and break resistant evidently, as I feared I'd broken it. If that isn't a testament to a well-made product, I don't know what is! Glad I made the purchase as I am enjoying using my Instant Pot, and this lid really makes a difference in the use of the unit.
These are much better than the previous lids, especially to clean. The handle won't fall off after many times of washing, so I'm going to continue to buy this one now. Keeps your food where you want it (inside the pot) and so far, it has not shattered. Some of my other ones have. Impressed and happy with the price!
I read other reviews which found this unnecessary. Perhaps so. But I found it really helpful when using the Instant Pot as a slow cooker (and I do that sometimes - some things just taste better that way), and after cooking, during Keep Warm however the cooking was done. The Instant Pot, particularly with a saute function is a great tool, but that pressure-cooker lid makes hard to know what is going on underneath. I really appreciate having a clearer view. It's also intimidating to people who don't actually use the IP, who just want to get at the contents.As far as this glass lid goes, it fits well and does the job. Worth getting.
