I spent time researching air fryers. Most I know already had an air fryer already and raved about how amazing they are. I had never heard of the Instant Vortex Plus until now and have to say it is amazing 6 in 1 - air fries, bakes, roasts, dehydrates, reheat and grills.I haven't used all the functions yet and much of it is trial and error with timings and temperature guessing - but, there are so many groups online that you can join for 100's of recipes. I've only had this less than a week and my main reason for buying was because oven chips really don't turn out well in a conventional oven and occasionally I just fancy some chips. I used it to cook oven chips and chilli bites last night and they turned out really well and I'm sure used much less energy than using my oven.If there was one thing I'd change about it, I with the handle slid off the drawer to put it in the dishwasher. I couldn't fit in at the end of the day even though my dishwasher bottom drawer was only half full - without the handle it would have fitted. I ended up just washing it in the sink.

Highly recommend! Easy to use and makes the food taste great. Used it making tikka chicken strips -turned it on- when it beeped added fresh chicken strips quickly coated with a dry mix and mixed with a little lemon juice -put it in the bucket - sprayed a little Bertolli olive oil spray on it and shut the basket and voila! Delish! Turned on the light along the way and took it out a few minutes before the normal cooking time . Cooks super fast.

Very easy to follow instructions for start up. The navigation and button set up are intuitive. There was a pretty strong burning plastic smell when I tested it without food as instructed. The smell was noticeably less the second and third times I used it. Really enjoy the food I’ve made with it thus far. Love the light feature to be able to check in on the food. It’s a bit larger than expected but I ordered it online so that’s on me for not looking at the measurements.

HOWEVER, I saw a number of reviews saying there was a problem with a horrible smell when first using the appliance. Therefore, I decided to call the Instant company to see if the problem had been resolved. I was assured that the issue had been resolved. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I had to run the air fryer in the garage for days. The odor was absolutely horrible. Within a few days of using the air fryer in the house, the change filter message appeared. I was not able to find the filters at any local stores. I called the Instant company and spoke to them about my situation. The touch screen is responsive and I love the feel of the physical wheel. Unfortunately you can expect lots of micro-scratches to appear on the screen even with very careful, gentle use. The ClearCook window is very cool and useful. However, I have not noticed any reduction in cooking smell with the OderEase feature whatsoever. When I began to see all of the glowing reports on Cosori's air fryers on YouTube and how the shake feature came on exactly half way through the cook time, I decided to try Cosori. They had smart models which work with Alexa and your wi-fi and with your iPhone. But after trying two of the new models, I returned them. I just did not like the interface compared to the Instant Vortex air fryers. Then I stumbled on this one. It looked like it had the same basic interface as my previous Vortex, but with some improved features, so I bought it. I have to say, I just love this machine. It still does not remind me to shake at exactly the middle of the cook time, but apparently Instant Vortex has programmed their machines to be closer to the end of the cycle. Though I would like that to be more exact, like the Cosori, I believe I'll be using this model for a long while. I am really happy with it. It is quiet, it is sleek to look at, it doesn't have those loud beeps, but soft, more digital sounding beeps, and it has the same great interface as my 5.8 Vortex. Yes, it has the window, but I haven't found that this adds to what I love about this air fryer. It's not a big selling point for me.

It’s quiet too, just a very refined tinkle when it’s time to insert food. Quite an improvement from the old-school one my friends have. I made lamb kabobs, roasted veg, including mushrooms, and homemade French fries. Easy cleanup. I also bought a couple of great accessory kits online, including a rack and skewers, grill pan, donut pan. I waited a long time before giving in to the air fryer craze: this replaces my bulky hard-to-clean toaster oven. One thing — ya might have to play around a bit withe temps. It cooks stuff quite fast. I bought this Air Fryer because I'm old school and use a toaster oven to re-heat or cook my food. I've been using a toaster oven for years and was fed up with how long it takes to get my food done. This Air Fryer is great because it has a window and light on the front so you can see how your food is doing through the cooking/re-heating process. Majority of Air Fryers do not have a window on their basket and it takes a lot of trial and error and guessing to see if your food is done. I would have given this 5 stars but each time I clean the basket, water and moisture goes in between the clear glass and fogs up the window. I felt that it should've been sealed to prevent water from entering there. Other than that, the basket is easy to clean. You'll just have to closely monitor your food because this air fryer will cook them fast and you don't want to burn or overcook your food. Each time I use it, I line the basket with foil for easy clean up and use air fryer parchment paper (the one with holes) on top of the rack. Don't forget to wipe the heating coils (when cooled) with a slightly damp cloth to remove oil buildup. Lastly, this air fryer is programmed to automatically pre-heat before you add your food. There's just no way around that.Pros- Water & Moisture gets between window- Black or Black & Stainless Steel are the only color options. Needs a "White" option w/Clear Cook
I would not normally go for a brand I'd never heard of but had seen a good Which review for a different model in this range. Took a chance as I had a Currys voucher to spend and didn't need anything else. Got this at a reduced price and have been really pleased with it. It doesn't take up too much space, looks good, isn't very noisy and is very easy to use and clean. The instruction booklet could be more informative so, as it's my first air fryer, it's been a bit trial and error but I haven't used my main oven since I got it. There are recipes on the brand's website.
