So far so good. Seem incredibly fast compared to my previous tires. Smooth ride. I swear though when I first started they felt a bit slippery, but maybe cause wasn’t used to the change in feel on the road. The only thing negative I’ll say is they were hard to get on the rim. Probably partly to do with my lack of skill with road bike tires, but that last 1/6 of the tire was difficult. I had to use by plastic tire remover to work it back on.Will update if anything negative to report soon - like a blowout of the tire.

Now on 2nd3rd set- 1 race1 commuter bike.Decent mileage from the 1st set used, only 1 flat occurrence. No punctures on the race bike which were installed last year. When just installed on the commuter bike, got a flat in the 1st 10 miles out.In both flat cases- appeared to be from a very tiny wire/staple. Could not see impact point on the tire on the most recent case, but definitely went thru the tire edgenot the tread area- from where the tiny pinhole was in the tube. After installing the 1st set on the commuter a couple of years back- flats dropped off completely with the 1 exception noted above.

WOW! Theyre beautiful, sexy and have quite the reputation. I read so many reviews about these, and then I saw someone wrote I live in NYC and... wont use anything else!, and I ordered a pair. Right away the first ride I rode out through the worst streets lots more potholes and deeper ones than usual and yes here in NYC we have way so many to choose from. Its part and parcel after all 😁 So I purposely gave them a beating on their first ride. I spent a pretty penny, so was it worth it?! Absolutely. If I could afford the GRAND PRIX version of these I would, but Im more than satisfied with this blue collar version. It does the dirty work just fine! I gave my hands a swollen red/black bruise line on them thats still healing. Not my first tire either. But if this means its not coming off for a really, really long time, then its worth it! They look and feel great and I feel great, meaning confident and trusting, about whatever terrain Ill find on my ride. Hope this helps. Stay safe out there! 🙏

2013 Giant Defy 4 Road Bike bought used, needed tires I bought Continental GatorSkin DuraSkin Clincher Bike Tires folding 2-Count, plus Continental Race 28 700x20-25c Bicycle Inner Tubes - 42mm Long Presta Valve - 2 Pack. The bicycle rides very smooth and much faster. The old tires were hard and the ride was jittery due to the old Gatorskin 23mm tires. The race tubes inside the tires make the ride very supple folding 240 grams 25mm tires absorb the rough surface of the streets. I would advise against puncture proof tubes that would make the tire combination too solid. This is as close to a tubeless setup without the price and tire-slip of a tubeless setup. Racing tires are too soft for street riding. Old tires were cracking so I proactively swapped to these gator skins. Friends always recommend these so when I found a good deal I jumped on it. I usually support local shops but it’s hard to find decent parts with the lockdown having everyone jump on their bikes again. 30 bucks a tire with prime is hard to beat. Usually run 23mm for my TT style setup but decided to give these a try after reading up on rolling resistance, aero and suspension gains. No punctures or flats out of the box with commuting/training, let’s hope it stays that way.

This is the only road tire I will use. Best for puncture resistance, thorns, cuts, sharp rocks, etc. I live in goat head thorn country and I can get flats on almost every ride during the late summer and fall. This put a stop to the problem. Ive tried other tires will no luck. The tires I received were with the new all black sidewall. They can ride rather harsh, I dropped my psi to around 100 and it made a difference You can find better riding tires, but not with the puncture resistance that the Gator Skins have. I might add that I never had one wear out on me, so far. Great tires.....

Hopefully I’m not jinxing myself. I’ve had great luck with these tires. As of now, I have about 1500 miles on them and have only had one flat. To be fair, nothing would’ve prevented it because it was a drywall screw and it almost went through the rim too. That was about 1000 miles ago and no problem with the hole in the tire I thought it would bubble or bulge, but it didn’t. I’ve ridden through a lot of glass and debris without getting flats. Depending on your riding style and how often you ride, I’d say 1500-2000 miles is probably what you can expect out of the rear tire. I can see getting close to 3000-4000 miles out of the front. Mind you, this is all on pavement.

These are amazing. I always thought that I would feel tipsy with road tires because so little is on the pavement. Not true I actually feel safer than with my hybrid tires. These tires corner like magic. Just lay it over and let it roll! I also thought that they would be tougher on the bumps. This was less difference than I thought. I do have a suspension seat post though. My first ride was a full mile an hour faster than my old tires.

....but not heavy, well...like rocks. Ive used many tires in the 25+ years Ive commuted and these are consistently the best. Out of the 6 Gatorskin tires Ive purchased, not a single one showed a flaw and every single one lasted well over 1,000 mile and 4 of them had near 2,000. Pretty certain that the tire blew after less than a 100 miles people did something wrong or just straight up lied.5 star reviews are probably spot-on and I could see the occasional 4 star being accurate, but be skeptical of any one star review as these not only skew the data but are probably just a bunch of bull. Thee tires are solid!

I recently picked up a new State Core-Line to ride around. I got very tired of asking my family or friends for rides, as I dont have a car or a license. The bicycle came with these supposedly great Kenda gum wall tires, meant for flexible roads and commutes. This was not my experience. Riding around in autumn for me means thorns littering the roads and sidewalks and we cyclists get hold of that pretty quickly. I went through around 2-3 tubes per week, with the closest bike shop being 34 miles away. I had to come up with something. At first, it was a pain to get these on, they even broke one of my Bell tire levers. Though, I will say that was my fault. I was being impatient and put under unnecessary pressure. At first, it was a pain to get these on, they even broke one of my Bell tire levers. Though, I will say that was my fault. I was being impatient and put under unnecessary pressure. This problem fixes itself a couple of rides after the initial install. They get nice and used to the shape of your rims. Ive had them on for about a month now - I have yet to encounter a single issue. I havent had a single flat with these, and it isnt a pain to ride around in the wintertime at all. one fair warning: these bad boys do get pretty slick when wet. Theyll definitely drop you if you dare challenge those pesky yellow, studded things or any deadly sewer grates.I read about the sidewall being pretty fragile on these things, but I havent had an issue yet. Be cautious, put them on and youll love every second of them.
