Bought for my holiday project just before Christmas to rebuild my home server and it works without a hitch running Ubuntu and lots of docker containers while doubling as my NAS. Overpowered but was only processor in stock for same day pickup to start and get it in time before the 24th of December. Super happy

Upgraded my machine with this CPU, ASRock B660 Pro RS ATX Form Factor For Intel 12th GEN LGA1700 CPUs,B660,... motherboard, and Kingston FURY Beast RGB 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16 - Black (In...all purchased on the same order.All went together without a hitch and it is running nicely. I've been offered a Windows 11 install with this kit so MS think it's ok, but I'm sticking with 10 for a while longer.Very happy with the outcome at a very moderate price.

I bought this CPU for my beowulf cluster for my small business, and the price / performance ratio is pretty much optimal. Yes, I could dump a ton of money into a Threadripper or a high-performance Xeon but the added density isn't actually required for my use-case. Also, the heat-sink that comes with the CPU is actually capable (unlike previous generations). It's quiet as well. I should note that the CPU will run a *little* hotter than usual at idle (~40 C), but at full capacity, it will never exceed 80 C. I was a little worried when I first put my computer together, but after load-testing it, it seems to be doing just fine.
I think this Intel Core i3-12100 is one of the best value CPUs for someone looking to build a budget PC.This processor supports LGA1700 motherboards and it is compatible with DDR4 (which I used) and DDR5, so I can upgrade it in the next few years.The included stock cooler works, but in the future I would probably upgrade it to something more powerful.
After running an i3-550 processor for 12 years in my desktop computer it was time for an upgrade. My needs are more for single-threaded performance than multi-threaded performance, so this processor was a great upgrade path for me. The performance is great and the price/performance ratio is hard to beat for my needs.
Got this chip to upgrade my home server. It's definitely snappier and maintains copy speeds better than my old 7350K. Plus it's future proof and consumes less power which is important since it's on 24/7. Win!
I usually stick with value CPUs for family, friends and most client builds but I decided to try more 'grunt' this time. FINALLY Intel has come through with affordable two and four core processors. By contrast with AMD, just f-in CRICKETS FOR TWO YEARS!
been using this CPU for a home built server I'm running and it does great. the Stock cooler that it comes with is more than enough as well, keeping the temps relatively low
