First off, B&H had a good price and shipped the product fast, providing email & tracking for every step... As a first time customer, I appreciate good business and B&H gets 5 stars as well. Thank you.As to my setup, ASUS X299-E ROG Strix Gaming II, 32GB Kingston Predator running at 3000,... The raid setup is nice, it's done in the UEFI and not a separate splash screen at boot up (such as having to hit ctrl I/A during boot)... Power supply is a Seasonic X1250 .. (Make sure you have a beefy supply.... Video card is a Titan XP Star Wars edition... (Wish I could buy a 3000 series)Overall, very satisficed customer!

I upgraded from a i7-7820X so I could have the full 48 PCI express lanes for more NVME SSD's directly connect to my CPU using a Strix Gaming X299 and Asus Hyper M.2 Card. In my opinion this is a very nice upgrade for those of us who are on X299 and are upgrading from 16 and 28 PCI express lane CPU's (i7-7800 X series).There are better and cheaper processors on the market right now if you're building a new system but for those of us that will remain on X299 for a few more years I highly recommend this part.

Very impressive component. I do some heavy composing work, analytics work and sometimes video renders. My 8 year old rig couldn't keep up. Built a new one with this CPU and it doesn't miss a beat. Running it with MSI x299 Pro mobo and 128 GB, 1300 W PSU, liquid cooler. Talk about an improvement to overall time management. And listen, I know the kids like the i9 10900k for gaming and overclocking etc., I've seen the benchmarks versus the 10900x "oh it's just an improved 9900k" FOLKS...get this CPU and it'll get business done. Simple as that. Yes, I recommend a liquid cooler.

I upgraded from a 3rd gen i5 to this product. Looking back, I wish I would have taken a closer look at AMD's lineup of products. Based on the research I have done, it seems that they have processors that will give you nearly identical single threaded performance. Many of their processors also have more throughput. You can get all of this for about half the price. So, you can go with this product for an insignificant gain in in single threaded performance. But you are going to have to pay about double for it. I'm not convinced it was worth it.
Shipment from the warehouse was quick and I had it a couple days after I ordered it.I installed this processor in an Asus Prime X299 motherboard without any problems. The tabs on the sides of the processor chip made it easier to handle it while putting it in its socket. Once I had everything connected it powered up without problems. This processor runs fast. If I put some CPU intensive work on it, running in the background, it doesn't really slow down whatever else I am using the computer for.
Love it. Fast, reliable and damn this thing can be overclocked! Runs below 30°C with the "DeepCool Castle 360EX" and stays below 60°C while gaming running with the XMP profile of the memory.
I’ve been using virtualization more heavily and my 8-year old 4-core i7 wasn’t cutting it anymore. Time for a new PC. I wanted the new 16-core version i9 but couldn’t get my hands on one. Turns out this 10-core processor is doing fine. VMware Workstation can still use 16 virtual processors due to hyper-threading and 64GB RAM. (I have 128GB) I’ve got adequate cooling and power to overclock but I don’t. It performs fine for my needs at rated speeds and runs reasonably cool and rock-solid stable even when pushed to the max on all cores. This new PC is a great productivity boost and I’m glad that Intel is making them more affordable because this is a big investment for me. Very happy with this processor.in my new PC.
I had no problems at all overclocking this CPU to 4.7 GHz, in a ASUS PRIME X299-A II Mother board, tested with Intel (R) Extreme Tuning Utility that I downloaded from the Intel website.
Other than Threadripper, which I also have, LGA2066 IS the only platform to consider until its next-gen replacement comes along. A total of 20 or only 18 PCIe lanes with other popular platforms is entirely useless unless you only ever think of things in the short-term.
Seems pretty rock solid and miles ahead of my 7th gen i7. Loving it so far and booted up like a champ.
