Card works great with proxmox passthrough. Fan is incredibly loud, and it might be broken or dying. Only came with a low profile bracket, and I was hoping for at least the full height. I cannot recall if the listing said one or the other but the image showed a full. Overall I am happy with the NIC and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap 10gbe network solution.

It's a 10G ethernet NIC for copper RJ45 cabling. Works as advertised. The Intel NICs also work without any issues in most popular OSes like Windows, Linux, BSD (pfSense).

I received the product on time, but it is not without issues. One of the two 10Gb RJ-45 ports will not 'lock' in an ethernet cable. Furthermore, even with a cable pressed firmly into the one port that will not lock, my system will not detect a connection. Luckily, I only require one working port for my purposes, so the card is still useful. Overall I think the card is a good value, but beware possible faulty ports on your card.

This is a great 10 Gigabit Network Card because of its wide range of compatibility. Drivers for this NIC are available for Operating Systems as old as Windows Server 2003! The fan also keeps this NIC cool while under load. Temperatures did not go above 120 Degrees Fahrenheit while under heavy load.
Item works flawlessly. Network speed is as advertised for both ports.
The x540-t2 card works well with Truenas core. Real rackmount server with loads of cooling airflow.
The Intel X540-T2 is still a major flagship card in the world of 10-Gigabit networking and it works unbelievably well. With Out-of-the-box built-in support on Windows 10 & Server 2016. I'm able to get my Hard Drives (12 TB Seagate Ent Capacity SATA) full Read & Write Speeds of between 240-250 MB/s, single disks, JBOD mode. If you have a fast Raid 0, 10, 5, or 6 Array (or SSDs) than you can expect to do much, much better. But for my purposes this is well worth it. I'm getting consistently double gigabit speeds going from my personal desktop to my server which really helps out with large files transfers, almost all of which come from my computer.
Working as it should be, bought 2 of it and connect to each others can get around 9G+ speed. May need an external fan as it very hot when operating.

NO drivers in Linux means it can't communicate though. Intel provides drivers (both in a CD in the package as well as online) for Linux, but the non-Windows drivers are SOURCE CODE ONLY. You need to compile the drivers. Compiling the driver requires an encryption signing certificate (.pem) which IS NOT INCLUDED in the drivers. Update (one year later): Seller was able to honor a return policy and the dead-on-arrival merchandise was replaced. Works well for what I need it for; No longer am I having issues where my original NIC, a Chinese rebrand of an Intel chip, used to crash on a weekly basis and have issues with maintaining low latency.
