I was looking for an easy to inflate kayak for fishing and recreational purposes and settled on the Excursion Pro. The kayak comes in a handy to use bag (although not everything fits in the bag and it can be tough to get back in once you use it). The quality seems to be top notch. The three-ply construction feels extremely heavy duty leaving me with no concerns about it running ground on the beach or dropping a fishing hook on it. The included air pump works exceptionally well. I had the entire kayak inflated in a little over five minutes. It comes with a handy pressure gauge so you can make sure you have it inflated properly. The inflatable seats are quite comfortable at first but after a few hours I found my lower back getting sore. I'm not if I just have to ... MoreI was looking for an easy to inflate kayak for fishing and recreational purposes and settled on the Excursion Pro. The inflatable seats are quite comfortable at first but after a few hours I found my lower back getting sore. I'm not if I just have to adjust the straps or possibly get a different life jacket. However, my wife had no complaints after the same outing. The included ores are handy because they can be disassembled into pieces. We did find that the ores were a big short, forcing you to have to reach a bit farther than comfortable to reach deep in the water. As well because they're so short you'll get a bit more water dripping into the boat. There's actually a nice amount of room at the front and rear of the kayak for storage. It comes with a fishing rod holder mount. Keep in mind that it's just the mount. You still need to buy a fishing rod holder and then clamp it on to the mount. The two fishing rod holders on the sides of the boat are a nice addition, although I wouldn't trust them in choppy water or wind. The boat handles exceptionally well in the water and is a breeze to turn and speed up. It's light enough to portage if necessary. We anchor ours with a 3 lb anchor and it was plenty for holding us in spot. All in all I'm quite impressed with this product and very happy with the quality of the kayak and its accessories. This is a great boat for those looking for an inflatable option.

I bought this when the water was still ice so I had to wait to try it out. Today was the first day. Went out for a solo fishing trip. The kayak inflates quickly with little effort thanks to the two way pump. Every push and pull inflates it. Not too heavy. I was able to pick it up with my equipment inside and drop in the water. I didn’t want to drag it and possibly puncture the bottom. On the lake it felt very sturdy. I was able to get on my knees and turn around to retrieve something from the back without tipping over. It held its air perfect while I was in the water, I was out for 3 hours with no issues. The water was a bit choppy but I was still able to paddle the boat effortlessly against the waves. I bought a 5 lb anchor and it held the boat still while I fished. The only issues I had with the it is i find the seat slightly uncomfortable because it has no support so if I lean back the seat just bends back with me. I also was not a fan of the rod holder placements. I think the maybe could’ve added some more for convenience. One other complaint would be that the pump hose seems low quality and I am concerned that will easily break.Packing it back up was easy. The pump also deflates the boat helping to get all the air out. It rolled up perfectly and fits back in the bag, unlike other products that never fit back in the bag once you take them out. A bystander even commented on how slick the boat packed back up. I haven’t used it tandem yet but I think it’ll be ok for 2 people. Happy with my purchase. No buyers regret.

Great boat (to begin with) and have had some lovely days on them. Very pleased......until..... We Bought two and both only lasted two summers, both boats burst on the floor seams, cheap plastic build and difficult to seal. This is possibly due to rolling them out and putting away continuously. The Paddles are cheap and one snapped. The seats dont last long and leak air at the fold and then are useless so I replaced them all for better seats (right before the boats then burst). None of the above was down to misuse or punctures. Would like these to have lasted much longer than they did. INTEX = BUDGET
We've only used the kayak a couple of times so far, but it's a great double kayak. It inflates fairly easily with the supplied pump, and head plenty of room for 2 x people. I was impressed when the quality of the kayak, and how well it handled in the water. There was a South Easterly swell when we were out, so the kayak did move around a bit, but it was comparable to the single sit on top kayaks we have. The paddles aren't the best, but all in all it's a great buy, the kids love it so far
This is a very user friendly design. The kayak comes in a carry bag that easily holds all the parts including pump. Theres no struggle to make it all fit. The build is of high quality and good value for money. The easy to attach nozzle holds fast while you pump up the 3 sections in number order, inflate the seats and insert the foot rests. Paddles click together and your ready to go. Didnt time it but close to 15min once you know what your doing. Light weight and easy to manoeuvre. Felt completely safe and so far only used on a river but feel happy to take to coastal waters. Such joy at the end of the day to deflate, pack in the bag, throw in the trunk with no struggles to lift onto the roof rack.
I am a wheelchair-bound amputee who has recently gotten into kayaking, but after purchasing a traditional sit-on kayak to go out with friends I realized I would never be able to go kayaking solo-style, due to that yak's 12' length and weight of around 85 pounds. So, with no other options for solo-day trips and wanting to be more active, I decided to buy a second inflatable kayak that I could take out on my own, without any assistance. After much research, I decided the Intex Excursion Pro was the perfect 'yak in my price range and ended up purchasing an open box from Ebay/Spreetail. While I understood my buy was of an open box return and did not expect the kayak to be perfect, I was disappointed to find that the bottom/floor inflation section along with one of the ... MoreI am a wheelchair-bound amputee who has recently gotten into kayaking, but after purchasing a traditional sit-on kayak to go out with friends I realized I would never be able to go kayaking solo-style, due to that yak's 12' length and weight of around 85 pounds. While I understood my buy was of an open box return and did not expect the kayak to be perfect, I was disappointed to find that the bottom/floor inflation section along with one of the two inflatable seats would not hold air for more than an hour. I am sure it is going to be an easy fix and since everything else was in perfect, new/unused condition, so I won't be trying to exchange it; but I still have not gotten a chance to truly enjoy that kayak, until I can make the needed repairs.
Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I spent a lot of time making my decision, however didn't want to spend a lot in case we didn't really enjoy this new activity. So this purchase was a balance between being above the cheaper entry level kayaks and not going with the best available. I am very please with the Kayak, however based on watching online video reviews, I did upgrade from kit included accessories with Winnerwell Paddles and Padded EVA Foam Kayak Seats to improve the ease and quality of our kayaking experience. The air pump system works great both for inflation and deflation (best way to pack it up tight), the air pressure gauge is great to have, the footrests work well and having both short and long skegs is also great option. I am not a fishing person, so not using the fishing attachments but I don't feel like I have paid unnecessarily for things not used. The other good option is that this 2 person kayak has an alternative specific set up if only one person is going out alone.
We bought it recently in addition to our paddle board for cooler weather in fall. On first use my child's finger was deep cut with the paddle tube and bled non-stop. Luckily we were close to emergency. The paddle tube edges are sharp and and could be finish machined smooth and rounded. I am to return because of that. However, there are pros and cons.
Very sketchy instructions but 2 engineers figured it out and everything inflated to our expectations! -Haven't put it into the water yet as I was awaiting receipt of life jackets but am not anticipating any difficulties. - Will report later if anything goes amiss!I too thought the hand- held pressure gauge was kinda awkward so mounted it directly atop the pump outlet ( see photo ). All that was needed was a 1-1/2 hose clamp, a foot of 7/8" ID plastic hose, and a 3/4" dia barbed plastic tubing adapter. The convoluted inflation tubing snugly fits over the hand pump port(s) and then also nicely couples over the inflatio port of the Cougland 9 vdc pump that I also purchased.See ya on the backwaters!!
