The camera is of course amazing, which is important to me! I take 1600 pictures of my fur and fur less babies regularly, so I need printable quality photos! What I don’t like? It doesn’t come with a charging brick nor earbuds! Apple claims that it’s to “reach carbon neutrality by 2030”, but we all know they were just trying to save some cash! Greta doesn’t have that far of a reach! I don’t honestly care about the earbuds being absent, as we all know it’s like wearing a marble around in your ear all day! They’re simply not comfortable! But the fact that Apple skimped on the charging brick is just some negativity that I honestly don’t need in my life right now! Having to spend more money on something that most phones come standard with, is just kind of absurd! It should have been a deal breaker, but I and everyone else in my house , have been rocking with Apple for at least 10 years now! We’re comfortable and connected, so it’s kind of hard to walk away! Our relationship is complicated! Other charging issues I’ve found with this particular model have to deal with its battery life and the phone heating up while charging! I do constantly use my phone, but I’ve never really had an issue like this with any of my other previous models. I don’t use the “always on feature”, and I try to wait til my battery is almost completely dead before charging it; but it still has to be charged multiple times a day. It doesn’t charge the fastest either on a regular cord and brick. I use a little quick portable charger if I need my phone to be charged in a hurry! On the portable charger I can charge this baby to almost full in 20 minutes! With the basic cord and brick, it can take about an hour to an hour and thirty minutes to get to that point! I also find that the speaker volume on the 14 Pro Max to be a little too low! I’m getting up there, and I don’t want to have to constantly walk around with an earbud in my ear just to hear my phone! It makes me feel like I’ve already got a hearing aid in! My husband loves my phone, and is looking forward to taking it over if I decide to break up with Apple! I’m either going with a newer, smaller model iPhone, or I’m just going to give Samsung a go! I just wish phones weren’t so big nowadays! You can pretend that we little handed people don’t exist; but all you’re doing is driving us back into the arms of our old flip phones! I’d recommend if you’re good with any of my gripes I discussed above. It just isn’t the phone for me! Sorry Apple! This time it’s you, not me! That hasn’t been my experience since switching. No crashing-knock on wood lol- no error messages that need to be investigated and fixed, smooth sailing (minus the cam, but as this is the first issue I’ve had in the 5+years of iPhone use that’s pretty good!) Almost forgot! When I first got my phone , I didn’t get a case or screen protector for maybe 2-3weeks. In that time I dropped my phone more times than I can count, like at minimum, 40+ times ( I am a notoriously clutzy accident magnet) Not exaggerating, not even a little! Not a single scratch let alone crack! Impressive the reason I give this a 4 not a 3. It’s a good phone, with minimal issues, but I do wish I had waited the extra year for the 15.

I was excited to find this model iphone was available refurbished through Target. It just arrived this afternoon. I don't think I've ever written a negative review, so I am hoping that this experience turns around, and I can report about it. So far, however, I'll say the package arrived in a bubble mailer, and inside was a thin cardboard box (which had some light dents on two sides of it.) Ok fine, I thought. Things get bumped in tranist. Then I opened the box, and much to my dismay I found the phone was being contained in a flimsy plastic insert... face down. As in, the face of the phone was facing the thin, non-padded back of the box. I proceeded to pull it out and was grateful to see that it was not cracked. Honestly a miracle. I know I must be spoiled by the sexy Apple packaging.. but the least you could have done would have been to put this thing in cardboard. Secondly, (generously overlooking the dead battery), this nearly $1100 item ($1079) is not going to come with a charger? I have purchased new iPhones before, and they have all come with chargers. No where did the item description mention there would not be a charger included. As it stands now, that is all I have to share. I am waiting for my new-to-me iphone 14 Pro Max to slowly charge on a tiny wall cube. I get it, there are bigger things to complain about in this world. But I was trying to do my part and re-use one of these resource heavy devices, rather than buying brand new. I have purchased refurbished i products before, but all have been from Apple. Unless things take a turn here soon, I can say I will not be buying any high ticket items from Target again. And I will say to anyone reading this, and anyone that I speak to in person that may have interest in buying a phone or other electronic item from Target, not to.
