It gets lost, stuck and doesn't work way more often than it does work. I waste hours upon hours of time to restart, reboot, mess with the app, clean the thing out, etc. I've had it for less than 1.5 years, and replacing the battery recently, did not fix the problems. I would never get a Roomba again, as they clearly have not bothered to debug any of their issues. They just come out with a new gimmick to sell new vacuums, but they have the same old problems. Oh, and it's extremely loud and annoying.

My kids know when it’s time for bed because the robot goes off, and I wake up to clean floors.I live out in the country, and dirt, hair, leaves, whatever you can think of gets tracked into the house. This thing cleans it all! It’s wonderful having one less thing to have to worry about as a parent. I know the price seems steep, but it’s totally worth it. It charges every day, so I literally never have to think about my floors.Bonus tip: my kids clean up their toys every night, otherwise ā€œthe robot might eat itā€. Second, I'd make sure you don't have your dogs out/free as if there is an "accident" I do think really bad things could happen with that accident and cause the worst unimaginable mess you can think of. I personally haven't experienced it but have heard others who have and this unit is no different where it tries to run over and suck up small rubber toys and small rope toys!In our house, we have a combination of area rugs, hard floors and carpet throughout the area upstairs. So far, it's handled the rugs and floors just fine and it definitely does suck up dust, hair and dirt/stuff that's tracked inside. What is cool is that you can direct the robot to clean specific rooms once you have it setup and it's learned your floors/rooms and you can control it via wifi or your smart assistant. It also senses really dirty areas and will go back over them to clean it up. There's a lot of high tech stuff crammed into it because it senses walls, furniture, drop offs and larger/heavier items on the floor. There is one threshold in our house it has trouble with because it's fairly high so that's the one thing I wish Roomba would do is come up with a sensor that could sense that and lift the front of the bot up to navigate across or up on to a rug that's higher off the hard floor. Best part of this unit is it empties itself in to the bin making it much easier to clean up and helping it last much longer between when you have to do maintenance such as emptying it or cleaning rollers as you would with nearly any other vacuum. Also, It does work as advertised and does not fall down our stairs, which is a huge plus. Now, for the Braava jet...I thought this concept was cool and it really does work by helping keep dust off your floors and will help keep them clean by keeping the grime cleaned up. I have noticed it now after using different pads that depending on the pads it does seem to leave streaks/marks where it's been. That's one thing that I don't care for as it makes your floors look like they are dirty when they are not. This could just be the cleaning solution but either way I don't like how it looks. In addition, if you have rugs on your hard floors, and don't pick them up this thing doesn't deal with them well in all scenarios. It does sense them so it won't mop a rug but it could cause the robot to not clean beyond that rug or around it. Perhaps that's something they can update to help the robot "learn" where all your rugs are so it cleans around them and uses it sensors with that learned map to navigate around them.To fix this, I'd recommend setting it on a schedule so all you have to do is pickup your rugs after Roomba vacuums the rooms. What I did is set one to do it Thursday and the mop to do it's duty on Friday when no one is home (which both of these can sense and will stop if someone is home). If you have problems with the streaking, I would recommend using a different pad, and specifically a reusable pad and then reduce how much cleaning solution I use or mix it with water. I wish that Roomba would include their own recommendations on how to work through these challenges as I'm sure there are many others who have the same issues and you shouldn't have to "figure it out" when it's such a large investment to get these machines. These machines do work and work well together to help keep your house clean and make it so you don't have to deep clean as often, especially if you have pets or lots of in/out traffic through your home. If you have hard floors, I would say it's essential because it cuts down on dust dramatically and can go under furniture, in corners and near walls is most cases to clean where dust tends to accumulate (especially in a bedroom with hard floors). The Roomba app makes it easy to setup and manage your robots and set schedules, control them and monitor status/progress and connect them to your smart assistant. In addition you get voice control so you can control your Roomba with your voice as well. Both machines are well built and packed with high-tech sensors designed to deal with most common situations/enviornments.Overall, this is a great bundle and a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't say it would completely "replace" a mop and vacuum but definitely will keep your house cleaner than it would otherwise be without them as you can have them do daily cleanings and even spot cleaning to save you time/effort.

I love this bundle!!! This has saved me so much time and energy and is cheaper than a maid. Roomba Pros: (1) I love that I can map rooms. There are older reviews that say this feature is not available but there was an upgrade so users can now map specific rooms and send the robot to only clean that room, (2) decent cleaning! The thing you have to keep in mind is that this isn’t a vacuum replacement it is an adjunct to a deeper vacuum. This thing does a decent job sucking stuff up, I even tested it by putting various debris on the hard floor and carrot (thinking it isn’t going to get deep into the carpet and it is going to toss the debris around on the hard floor) and was pleasantly surprised! (3) I can pair this with my smart ecobee thermostat & Alexa so when it detects I am not home, it can send the robot out to clean the floors! Can’t really think of any cons to the robot vacuum because it truly beats manually vacuuming everyday and my house feels cleaner (two little kids and shedding dog can make the floors very messy). Braava pros: best invention ever. It takes me an hour to manually sweep and wash the floors and even then I don’t feel like they are always super clean, I live that I can send this mop out every day and get clean floors without lifting a finger. Of course this isn’t going to clean the corners but that is so much more manageable than manually cleaning. I love that I can adjust the mop spray and overlap. It also does a great job at detecting carpet so it never sprays it. To test how well this cleaned I left a sticky spot on my floor for a month. It was so sticky and dirty. I thought maybe after three or four passes the mop would maybe get it clean (husband even told me ā€œthe mop isn’t meant to clean that mess and it is NEVER going to clean that mess.ā€ā€¦..one pass! ONE PASS and it was clean. It was a miracle and I am obviously still impressed. Picture 1 shows the dirty spot, picture 2 shows it wet after one pass, and pic three is the dry final result. Lastly, I love that I can send the mop to clean right after the roomba. It makes it so convenient to auto initiate the mopper so I know my entire house will be clean when I get home. Note: I do change the wet mop pad after each clean to ensure I am not just spreading dirt. I would purchase this 100x over.

I've been a Roomba user for about 15 years now and was excited to try this new WiFi connected version. Package allows you to take care of vaccuuming and mopping the floors, however software integration between two robots could have been a little better. For example - the only way to mop after the vacuum is to let Brava (mopping robot) start after Roomba (vacuum) finishes, there is no way to have them go room-by-room right after each other. Both robots do reference their own map and don't share (or don't seem to share) your house map between each other as each robot has to learn the surroundings by itself.Individually robots are doing a pretty good job though!Roomba (the vacuum) - seems to have a few troubles with a real thick carpet I have in the dining room (see ...Ā MoreI've been a Roomba user for about 15 years now and was excited to try this new WiFi connected version. Both robots do reference their own map and don't share (or don't seem to share) your house map between each other as each robot has to learn the surroundings by itself.Individually robots are doing a pretty good job though!Roomba (the vacuum) - seems to have a few troubles with a real thick carpet I have in the dining room (see photos) even with the majority of chairs removed - it tends to stop at the edge of the carpet and declare a "cliff" emergency asking for help. After manually moving the robot - it does not seem to learn the lesson and goes for the "cliff" again and again. There does not seem to be a way to block off the area of a thick carpet in the app. It does take Roomba about 6 (!!!) hours to vacuum roughly 1000 sq ft of hardwood and carpet are of my first floor so it takes multiple "naps" at the charging station. Cleaning quality is pretty good though and there is almost no mess to deal with - just replace the paper waste bag at the charging station when it gets full. Roomba does seem to bump a lot into walls and furniture though, I would probably opt for a higher model of Roomba equipped with synthetic vision and object recognition (like charging cords or pet waste).Brava (the mopping robot) - machine has an on-board tank for the cleaning liquid (Bona is what is recommended) and a spray nozzle up front. It would spray the cleaner first and then wipe it out with a microfiber cleaning pad that is attached underneath the machine. It only has 2 wheels so 3rd point of contact is the mopping pad itself. While it's doing a great job on the hardwood floor - it is having a horrible time at the transitions between hardwood and tile (Kitchen area) and hardwood and tile just under the fireplace. While flooring surfaces are level - they do have a small transition which throws Brava sensors off. It either can't climb over a transition or is attempting it at 45 degree angle - goes about half way over but suddenly gets "scared" and reverses rapidly. That results in it unable to get back to it's charging station unfortunately and giving up on a job. I really hope it's just a software update fix as I really like the Brava.Overall - it's a great power couple - but I would probably upgrade to a higher model if your home "terrain" is not easy to navigate thru.

With its powerful cleaning performance, smart features, and self-emptying capability, it's designed to keep your floors tidy without constant supervision. One of the standout features of the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 is its adaptive navigation system. Equipped with intelligent sensors, it smoothly navigates around furniture and obstacles, ensuring thorough cleaning of your floors. Its high-performance suction power and dual multi-surface brushes work together to effectively capture dirt, debris, and pet hair, leaving your floors looking spotless. The Wi-Fi connectivity feature allows you to control and monitor the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 through the iRobot Home app on your smartphone. You can schedule cleaning sessions, customize cleaning preferences, and even receive notifications when the bin is full or maintenance is required. This convenience allows you to manage your cleaning tasks from anywhere, anytime.A notable advantage of the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 is its self-emptying capability. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal system automatically empties the robot's bin into a larger bagless base, which can hold several weeks' worth of debris. This feature significantly reduces the need for frequent emptying and maintenance, making it a great time-saver.For added convenience, the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 is compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can simply use voice commands to start or stop cleaning sessions, check the robot's status, or even ask it to return to the charging dock. This hands-free operation is particularly useful when you have your hands full or want to clean specific areas quickly. While the adaptive navigation system is generally reliable, the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 may occasionally get stuck on certain obstacles, such as loose wires or rug edges. However, with a little manual intervention, you can easily resolve these situations. It's important to note that the Roomba i3 Evo 3550 falls on the higher end of the price range compared to other robotic vacuum models. However, its advanced features and self-emptying capability justify the investment for those seeking a more automated cleaning solution. One minor drawback is the limited bin capacity of the Clean Base, which may require more frequent emptying for larger cleaning tasks. However, for routine maintenance, the self-emptying feature provides a significant advantage. In conclusion, the iRobot Roomba i3 Evo 3550 offers efficient cleaning performance with its adaptive navigation system and powerful suction capabilities. Its Wi-Fi connectivity, self-emptying feature, and compatibility with voice assistants provide added convenience for a hands-free cleaning experience. Although it comes with a higher price tag and may encounter occasional obstacles, it remains a reliable choice for those looking to simplify their cleaning routine.

So Happy with my i3+
4 October 2022

I had to take back my i6 due to it quit working after 4 months. I didn’t know if the i3+ would work as good, but this is the only one that Best Buy had in store at that time. I have to say it is great. It seems to have the same suction power as the i6 and my i7+. I named my iRobot Raven. It will occasionally bump into furniture, but it isn’t forceful. When it approaches items, it will slow way down and just as it is within inches it gentle touches the objects. I like being able tag rooms and set some off-limits spaces. A plus for me is it was so easy to connect with my Google Assist. I also have all of them set to begin vacuuming at 8:00am every morning except the i7+ in the bedroom. We are retired and my husband doesn’t always get up in the morning at 8:00 am so it is set for 10:00 am. Some reviewers complain about the noise when it empties the bin, and it is a little loud but that is just fine with me because it doesn’t last that long, and I don’t have to empty the bin myself. We have 4 dogs (1 Doberman, 1 Pitbull, 1 mini schnauzer, 1 small mixed breed) all our fur babies shed more than you realize. I do the weekly maintenance as advised and you can obviously tell it’s working. Plus doing the maintenance will make this iRobot last longer. I have 4 iRobot’s total in my house because it is a little larger. The oldest i7+ is in my office, i7+ in the mud room, i7+ in my bedroom, and i3+ in the living room. At first my husband thought it was crazy to have that many but when the i6 quit working he soon found out how long it took for the iRobots to vacuum the house due to the size, it was all day long to and drove him crazy. So, it didn’t take him long to realize 4 in the house was great! I have no complaints about the i3+, it works great with plenty of suction power.

Wow Better Than I Thought

This is both my first robot vacuum and my first robot mop and I must say that I am extremely surprised by what iRobot has done with both of these products. Setting this up was a breeze. The quickstart guide was clear and concise and within 5 mins the i3 was ready to go once you completed the setup within the iRobot app. The first thing I sent it to do was a mapping run, which allows the i3 to learn the rooms of your house so that it has a ā€˜map’ of all the rooms in your house. This was the first area that I was truly surprised, once it finished the run, you are presented with a map of rooms, which I found to be very accurate. In addition, you are given the option to edit the room borders it created on its run so that you can either delete, add or resize to your desire as well as name each room. This is great because you can schedule the i3 to vacuum specific rooms/ groups of rooms. When it comes to cleaning the i3 does a better job than I would have thought, keep in mind this my first robot vacuum so my expectations might be lower than someone who has used one before. The i3 cleans in a very systematic pattern rather than randomly. It mainly makes parallel paths on its runs going back and forth covering the entire space. I think this is an organized way to do the cleaning rather than completely random, which is something I greatly appreciate. While cleaning not only is it quiet but it has been able to take up most it not all of the dust, hair, and particles I see on my room floors (no carpets/rugs). I even tested it with bread, biscuits and cookie crumbs and it did very well picking them up and even some stuff that was lightly stuck on the floor. An extremely great feature it has is self-emptying. Once the unit has finished its run it will return to home base and you will hear a powerful vacuum sound( almost like a jet taking off) for like 5 to 10 seconds in which the contents of the i3 dust container is sucked up and emptied into the disposal bag inside the charging unit. It does a great job transferring its content and I only wish that these disposal bags were transparent so that we could easily see what's inside, (you might be surprised that it picks up something you wouldn't expect, such as a small earring, etc.) Finally, the battery life seems somewhere between 1 to 2 hours of continuous cleaning, but interestingly if it is running low on juice it will return to its base, charge up and then continue where it left off. I also like that once it has finished a run it notifies you on the app while also showing you the path it took/ the area it covered( in sq ft) and where it picked up a majority of dust and dirt.Braava jet m6Like the i3 this was incredibly easy to set up and using the quickstart guide gets you done in less than 5 mins. It also works with the same app making it easy for you to control them both from one place. Unfortunately, it doesn’t share the same map that was created when the i3 went on its mapping run so you can either send it on its own mapping run or it will learn and construct the map while it does it cleaning runs. I like the fact that it can identify which pad type has been placed on it and from the app is ready to go with the type of cleaning associated with the pad, i.e dry sweeping pad vs wet mopping pad. So far I’ve only tried the hard surface cleaning solution and it not only smells great but did a great job cleaning my floors leaving them looking fresh. Its cleaning pattern is also similar to that of the i3 with the m6 doing parallel lines as well with the addition of spraying some solution ahead of itself before running over the path and cleaning that area. Unfortunately in some cases, it did leave streaks across the floor and sometimes it didn’t, seems to happen closer to when the solution tank was almost empty but I will need to experiment a few more times to make a conclusion.Together both units look great and I like the dark color option I have selected. They have a textured top and somewhat industrial design and I find them both quite attractive. They are relatively light and easy to move around so you should have no problem repositioning them. Another great feature they both have is that you can connect them to Alexa through the iRobot Home skill with ease. Once you’ve named each unit, you can simply tell Alexa to send them to a specific room or to the entire map, its up to you. I also like that you can set up one unit to run right after the other has finished. So you can send the i3 to vacuum first and then let the m6 mop right after, which is fantastic. Also I must point out that each unit has a clean and a home button, so you can press them at any time and they will begin to clean the area they are currently in or head back to home base.Overall, the cleaning combo of these two units makes a great definite improvement in your cleaning routine. Not only will they free up time since you can automate the entire process, they also do a very good job of getting dust, dirt, and hair while also leaving your floors looking great. I definitely recommend it.
