Iwata HP.CS Eclipse 0.35mm Gravity Feed Airbrush

Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes are known for their all-star versatility. Eclipse's high flow allows it to atomize a wider variety of liquids with less need for reducing or thinning. Eclipse Series offers a broad spray range, as compared to other airbrushes, where it is possible to achieve a controlled fine line to controlled wide spray. The Iwata Eclipse CS Gravity-Feed Dual-Action Airbrush has a generous 0.24oz / 7ml fluid cup with lid that is ideal for colour mixing. Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes feature an exclusive compression fit nozzle that is easy to clean and assemble. The quick-flush cutaway cutaway handle allows easy access to the needle so that you can quickly empty the paint reservoir for cleaning. Iwata's spring-steel needle resists breakage and the PTFE needle packings are solvent resistant for longevity. Iwata Eclipse airbrushes come with a head cap spanner that is used to remove the head cap when accessing the nozzle. Also included is Iwata Lube, which is used to lubricate the needle and main lever mechanism. Hugely popular, Iwata Eclipse Series airbrushes offer all-star versatility.

Was using for quite some time (3-5 years) some lower quality aribrush and they were just giving up on me most of the time lately. When doing some fine lines, they would suddenly ''spit'' on my work, making me shift between the 2 to fix what the other did (black on white on black setup) Feed up with it, I used the money from my actual contract to upgrade to something ''top-notch''ÒMG!!! the weight in hand feel so good, the control is perfect, fines line just as I want them. my paint seems to dry on the tip of the needle as I work, causing some accidental spit, but noting compared to the mess of my other 2. Must be more because of the paint dilution than the airbrush itself. In other words;I. LOVE. This feels like a notable improvement over the bargain airbrushes I used before. The machining is better and the ability to disassemble and clean is superior. I am a big fan of how small the aperture for the gravity fed reservoir is, makes cleaning the last of the paint at the end so much easier!

Excellent shopping experience, great airbrush

Super-fast shipping, item arrived safe and sound. Will definitely buy from Maple again.Regarding the Eclipse HP-CS airbrush itself, it sprays wonderfully, it has a nice weight in hand, and it's easy to disassemble and clean. One thing is taking some getting used to. I find the trigger, when pushed, has a very limited travel distance, compared to other airbrushes I've used and own. The Iwata Neo-CN for example, has a "spongier" trigger, that has a lot more travel between when you first depress it to when it reaches the maximum distance it can travel. This doesn't affect performance as far as I can tell; depressing the trigger is just an on/off for air flow, and pulling the trigger back to release paint feels comfortable and works exactly as expected.Overall, no ... MoreSuper-fast shipping, item arrived safe and sound. I bought this as my first airbrush. (I haven't owned others so I cannot confidently rate this a 5) My advice = This is an "HP" air brush... from the Iwata site please TAKE NOTE "the Eclipse CS sprays heavier acrylics and textile paints, while maintaining high-detail spray characteristics" emphasis on "heavier acrylics" This is not a bad thing. But what this does mean, is that you do NOT want to thin your paint too much for this brush. I started out using it and thinning citadel paints at about a 1:1 ratio. This is NOT what you want to do. Don't be afraid to put too thick of a paint in here, so that the brush can give you a consistent spray. Of course your compressor matters, but when you put too thin of paint, the air flow cannot "grab" onto it at the right pressure ... MoreI bought this as my first airbrush. Of course your compressor matters, but when you put too thin of paint, the air flow cannot "grab" onto it at the right pressure and you end up "drying" your paint before it hits the model or whatever you're painting. By using a thicker paint, the air flow "grabs" onto it better and your paint leaves the brush before it gets dried by the natural air pressure. What can happen if you you thin too much: -the paint will dry in the nozzle cap faster -the paint won't grab onto the surface of your subject (this can result in the paint getting pushed around by the airbrush after it hits your subject) -the paint flow will be inconsistent -the finish on your paint will be particularly shiny I'm not a professional artist, but just bottom line: don't thin your paint TOO much.

I purchased a NEO airbrush and it started out excellent BUT it stopped working 2 months after I bought it so I bought this Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and it's AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I should have just bought this from the start, it's worth it to buy a QUALITY product first instead of having to buy 2 because one doesn't work. The quality of the Eclipse is so much better than the NEO. Don't get me wrong, the NEO started out spraying really well, when it worked it was great, the problem is that it just isn't made like the Eclipse is. You can look at it and see the differences. The Eclipse doesn't have the cheap donut gaskets that the NEO does. I still don't know exactly what's wrong with the NEO but I think it has something to do with the O-Rings breaking. I can't get paint to come ... MoreI purchased a NEO airbrush and it started out excellent BUT it stopped working 2 months after I bought it so I bought this Iwata Eclipse HP-CS and it's AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Its like driving a fine automobile compared to what I do
25 February 2021

I am getting serious about my airbrushing for my die-cast car restoration and customization hobby. I have been using a HF compressor and airbrush for several months now and its been great but parts and support is almost non-existent. I have had some Paasche VL's in the past but Iwata has always been highly regarded. I looked on DickBlick.com and found this kit. It was on backorder but was promptly shipped after getting into stock. The airbrush is BEAUTIFUL, its like driving a fine automobile after driving and owning economy cars my whole life. The actions are smooth and the parts are all very well refined. I can not be more impressed. Now I just need to save up for a much better compressor.

New Airbrush - iwata eclipse hp-cs
7 June 2022

Got in touch with donna & elyssa at maple airbrush supply the other day, ordered my new iwata eclipse hp-cs, Its my 2nd airbrush, my first was the revolution great starter airbrush, love the bigger cup and .5mm needle nozzle for coverage and metallics etc... but also because it allowed for the .3mm set up as well, will still continue to use it as well. The eclipse, being so new to me only using it twice before posting this review, sprayed a lot smoother and more accurate. Im going to enjoy using them for years to come, as my artwork gets to where i want it, i think there might be a micron in a few years to finish up the collection for extreme detail work. Review of Iwata Eclipse CS airbrush # IW-ECL-CS
17 September 2024

I was very new to airbrushing, and I started with a dirt cheap £30 airbrush that I purchased from Ebay. Once I found that I was getting quite proficient with it, I upgraded to the Iwata Eclipse. This airbrush rocks! It gives incredible trigger control and the spray atomisation is perfect. The wide bottomed and perfectly bevelled cup does not waste any paint and makes it incredibly easy to clean. In my experience, it works wonderful for coating and detail, working from 25psi for coating, and right down to 10psi for finer line and detailing. I highly recommend this airbrush to everyone. An excellent choice of airbrush for starters, like myself, and more experienced airbrushers. This is the best purchase I've made for my modeling.A truly first class product.

Upgraded from Neo to HP-CS
22 January 2020

I struggled for ages with a Neo from Amazon trying to paint fine detail on miniatures. I tried multiple paint brands, thinners and consistencies to no avail. The Neo would clog up almost instantly causing stuttering and splattering. I was worried it was me and not the airbrush. The Eclipse is a vast improvement over the Neo. In my first session I had it painting hairline detail with thinned acrylics and no nasty tip dry or clogging issues. I spent ages searching for an Iwata in my local stores and online but no one carried them or they were incredibly overpriced.
