Jabra Evolve2 85 MS USB-C Stereo Bluetooth Headset - Black

I bought this when my Jabra evolve 75 headset stopped working (known mic issue) thinking it would be even better. It wasn't. The mic boom was too fiddly to easy flick up and down during telecons (I work from home and spend hours each day in tele meetings) and the noise cancelling was somehow poorer when compared to my old trusty evolve 75. The dock is also too fiddly and temperamental. I had such a disappointing experience that I went and bought another set of the previous generation evolve 75s and gave the evolve2 85s away to someone who doesn't really know any better. 100% don't buy

Me and my Evolve2's have known each other for about 2 years now. Not gonna lie, it hasn't always been easy. You'd think our relationship would be smooth going - I'd put on the headset and it sends sweet sounds into my ears and also makes me sound like a smooth talker with the swing arm mic...while the mic is excellent for calls, everyone hears me clearly, sometimes the switch between laptop and mobile isn't so neatly done. For example, if I'm on a google chat meeting and a call comes in on my mobile device, it'll cut me out of my meeting to prioritize the ringing phone. There's no way to set channel priority. Not cool. As for the sound, I've played around with the EQ settings and the bass is still not that great although it's awesome in the higher ranges. Too well actually, others have been able to sneak up on me and scare the daylights out of me so unless I'm peacefully by myself, I tend to half cover my ears so that I can hear who I'm about to counter-attack and also hear myself talking to monitor my speaking volume. Overall, I love this headset but the one thing I wish it would allow me to do is replace the stock ear cushions. The original ear cushions snap off and on and are soft but not cushy so trying to find a 3rd party upgrade hasn't been easy due to fit alone. So after all that I've said, if I can't upgrade it to make them more comfortable, I'm upgrading it altogether. Sorry Evolve2, it was nice to have known ya.

Comfortable, professional noise-cancelling headset for conference calls and working from home

The two main features that I think a professional would appreciate in this headset are: - Over the ear cups for increased comfort allowing you to wear the headset for a longer period of time. - Noise cancelling microphone blocking out unwanted background noise when on a call. When I was on my Teams and Zoom for work or personal phone calls, the people I was speaking to could not hear my keyboard clicking, or my water running in the sink, or the dishes being done while I was in the kitchen, or my roommates when they were speaking loudly outside of my room. My call partners only heard my voice, and they said my clarity was great! So youre going to hear voices fairly easily with these headphones with ANC on, though at a reduced level. Lower level sounds will be cancelled out easily. These headsets are also good for music, though for more instrumental and vocal tracks. These headphones are not great for bass tracks, or tracks that have a very wide range. Its adequate, youll enjoy your music, but theres better out there for that. This headset can be worn for a long period of time once you stretch it out a bit after its first taken out of the box brand new.

Does NOT work well with Windows 11 MS Teams

I purchased this headset because I liked the 75 a lot, that is until I moved to WIndows 11. With WIndows 11, when you move the mic arm up to mute, it also turns off the speaker as well. I saw that the 85 was "certified" to work with MS Teams and paid $576 for it. Sadly, this MS Teams "CERTIFIED" product has the SAME issue!! I hope you like having the mic arm down ALL the time, because it's the same as turning it off while in a MS Teams meeting - you can't hear anything and no one can hear you. My team members said I sounded VERY loud and I switched back to the 75. Perhaps I could have adjusted the output volume in settings, but I didn't bother because of the other issue. I could tell very early on that a good headset was going to be very helpful during those office activities. Jabra Evolve2 85 MS Stereo + Charging Stand, **USB-C**, Black

Excellent headset. Very comfortable with the nicely padded over-the-ear earphones. Excellent ambient noise reduction. Excellent sound quality. Nice unobtrusive fold-up microphone. Great wireless range - I can walk around the office and still communicate by phone or via MS Teams.Much better charging stand than the Jabra Evolve 65, which was fiddly to ensure the headset was connected to the charger.I would definitely buy it again and would definitely recommend these headsets.

Not bad but has annoying flaws and feels like it was abandoned by Jabra

Things I like:- Busy light indicates when I'm in a call or a meeting so my wife knows not to disturb me.- ANC is good, I had Bose QC35 before and I honestly did not notice a difference.- Retractable mic boom arm. It allows the speech to be a lot clearer than mics in the headphones themselves, plus it allows me to use these headphones outside. I even used them on a plane once and it was a great experience overall.- Hear-through mode is useful, used it a lot during traveling and while working when I need to hear my surroundings.- Sound quality is good.Now the things I don't like:- Mode switching button always cycles ANC / Off / Hear-through. So in order to go from ANC to Hear-through (the most often use case) two button presses are required. I would much rather prefer this to be configurable to remove Off from this list as I never had a use for this mode.- During a call the mode switches to Off automatically so to get ANC back I have to press the mode switch button. Also, during calls the list of modes change to Off / ANC with no Hear-though option. Weird.- iOS app is unreliable. Most of the time it can't detect the headset while it is paired and connected to the phone. All it shows is "Welcome back. Turn on and connect your device."- There is a weird bug when using the headphones with the charging stand. I usually turn the headset off at the end of the day and put them on the stand. When I take them from the stand the next day and turn them on, there is a 50/50 chance they would become unresponsive and won't connect to anything (phone, dongle) unless I power cycle them. It sounds like they go into a weird semi-on state when they will announce "Battery high" immediately after I put them on my head without me even touching the on/off switch. And then when I flick the switch to On I hear "No device connected". I tried several Evolve2 85 headsets on the latest firmware (1.3.8) and all of them exhibit the same issue. It is not consistent so sometimes it only happens once a week - and sometimes it happens every day. Very confusing.- Jabra Link 380 dongle has a very aggressive power-saving feature that switches off audio streaming if it detects silence for more than 1-1.5 seconds, and it takes half a second to wake up after it detects audio again. As a result, any tutorial/video that has silent parts in between sentences becomes very painful to listen to, with constant fade-ins and lost words.- The latest firmware update was in December 17, 2020. It looks like this product was abandoned.

One of the best headset

Best headset, I already use Evolve 75 MS Duo at office (delivered by my company) for mor than 2 years. This is the reason I buy also a Jabra for my personal use.Excelent on music (you have the "brake" them in for something like 4 to 6 hours to get the best from the drivers. The quality of music play comes after... just by curiosity, play a song just out of the box... play a rock song on repeat for 4 hours without have the head set on you... and test them again.... big diference.The battery life on this is amaizing.Eas of use, very good phisical buttons placementGrate app

Teams meetings disconnect frequently

Bought this headset few days ago, during the Teams meetings calls are disconnected frequently without my notice, mutes and unmutes without my notice. For the price it's not worth it to see the calls disconnect and people cannot hear my phone calls.Troubleshooting steps:Installed the Jabra direct software on my PC and upgraded the firmware for Jabra evolve 2 85, and Jabra Link 380 and the Jabra Direct software and they are up to date.Did the reset and rebooted my computer but still meetings were disconnected when presenting my screen and I haven't changed any settings.Lenovo support is pathetic, spoke to 5 different people and they route to others and asked to contact Jabra tech support finally. Expensive headset and figured I would treat myself because so much of my work in on Teams. I used a Jabra evolve 75 until it died and it worked great. This, however, not so much. The fit is poor with the mic running into my face unless I tilt the headset to weird angles. The sound quality of my mic over the dongle is terrible, sounds like I am wearing the mic 6 feet from my head. I am using bluetooth which is working well, but I cannot do that with all the computers I need to use for work. I asked to return and was advised to adjust then hard plastic and nearly immobile mic and to update the firmware on the dongle. The latter is impossible, I am using it on a secure work computer at home and in the office, the bluetooth is disabled on my desktop.
