Color: light amber with golden reflections and intense. Smell: The scent of this whiskey was immediately revealed in style, thanks to the notes of toasted oak at the right point, sweetened by the vanilla pod, notes of ripe fruit and high quality that goes with it. Flavor: The flavor is bold, full and enjoys a worldwide hunger. The reason is explained by its softness and sweetness of vanilla notes that complete a journey of flavor on the palate, as an accompaniment to ripe fruit and spices, carefully selected, in this product of excellent workmanship

The palate is smooth and mellow, almost no bite. Very weak char in the front and it's soon gone. The maple is around all the time, making the palate quite oak, but not overwhelming. The body is light and tastes very sweet almost like licorice. The finish, It is handcrafted maple barrels. A little sweet in the beginning. There's malty sweetness lingers long. I believe this is one of the mellowest whiskeys. But to my surprise, it's quite wood-focused, not just some plain sweet drink. The maple wood is nicely done, pleasantly running through the palate and lasting long in the finish. The nutty note in the finish is a little highlight to me, which could be attributed to the wheat and barley in their mash bill. The flavor is phenomenal! It can be a little pricey but it's a top shelf whiskey what would you expect? I have used this in making whiskey cocktails. The taste is not for everyone, but it is good for me, and when taken on the rocks, it definitely hits different! It's nice to have every once in a blue moon. The bottle is 750ML so will last for quite a long time.

Disappointing

At 80 proof and $200+ this is disappointing to me. Bland taste. Proof at 90 or 95 would have made a much more flavorful bourbon. To be honest, the Single Barrel Select or Sinatra Edition are much better.

I have loved this stuff since I tasted it at the distillery.Every year or so I run into it so it must be a limited availability item.makes it taste that much better when i can get my hands on it....

Phenomenal.

this is worth every penny, I love JD and have purchased just about every variation I have come across. My friends and family agree, this is really well done, a great sipper on ice or not. Smooth with a great finish.

Pretty darn awesome
18 February 2021

I drank Jack Daniels black label when I was younger. I have migrated to single malt scotch us over the years. A friend gave me Jack Daniels 27 and I tried it was some hesitation. I tore through that bottle in short order sharing it with friends. Just bought my second bottle and anxious to get into it. How should you drink it? In a glass. Period. No ice, no mix. It’s perfect as a sipping whiskey.

So Smooth!

It's amazing! I've had 3 bottles and they are hard to find now so if I see one I grab one and now have 2 on a shelf waiting for me. By far the smoothes of JD. I think they stopped making it unfortunately

Very good….however it’s over priced
31 July 2021

I picked this up due to its rare nature. I can leave the no.7, it’s only for coke or 7-up. So I had low expectations for this. I was a bit surprised at how mellow it was. Yes it’s only 80 proof, but if you acknowledge that going in, it’s very nice whiskey. The maple adds to the recipe, with some vanilla, a small amount of Carmel and some bread dough. Creamy and medium bodied, it’s very easy going down neat. Don’t water or ice this down, it’s ready to go as is. I recommend it but only at $50….not $100. Way better stuff on the shelves for $100.

Why it's expensive
15 November 2021

First of all I love it and will pay the price as long as they make it.As for the reason it is so expensive, I was talking with Jack's barrel maker in Sturgis and he said it's because the Maple barrels it is make in soak up about 1/3 of the product so the price is to compensate the loss. Personally I can live with this apposed to them not making it anymore.

Worth the Price
18 March 2021

I have to admit that was skeptical about buying this bottle at such a high price, but since I am a big fan if Gentleman Jack, I just had to try this one. Man, I am so glad I did!! What a tremendous drink! The presentation is nice. Comes with a gold box and high quality glass bottle, so it's great to look at while on the shelf. Aroma is strong with bourbon, wood, and maple being prominent. Yes, I know Jack Daniels wants to be called whiskey because of their extra filtration process. Fine with me. This is a very smooth drink. Great taste of maple and wood with the whiskey mash. Much more complex than Gentleman Jack. Great maple flavor without being too sweet. Creamy mouthfeel. Smooth finish.
