The product quality is variable and I have had to return two that were not working (constant ticking). However, when it works as it should it's brilliant. Prior to this the possums were working their way through my tender young plants, now they completely avoid the area that is covered by the repeller. They roam the rest of the garden so they are still around but they avoid the protected area completely. It's an economical, and environmentally-friendly way of keeping the pests away, but keep the box in case you have to return it. Luckily Bunnings is very good about returns

I have a video of the animal sniffing it while its light flashes continually but it then moves on to eat the plant that was supposed to be being protected. The motion detection works - but there is nothing else to it. Worse than a waste of money.

I should have read some of the reviews.Firstly, there is no main on / off switch. It’s always on so if your in the yard etc it will always go off with a high pitched screech.Secondly, the sensor is so sensitive, when there is a bit of wind and leaves move it will pick it up and go off which is very frustrating.It doesn’t isolate movement of pests but everything that moves.Thirdly, don’t waste your money, this is for the bin.

This is horrific. The sound is audible and piercing and gives me headaches. The sensor is WAY too sensitive no matter where it is placed in the garden so it goes off constantly every 2-5 seconds even on the lowest setting the sound pierces what feels like my very skull. I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not. Ultrasonic? Yeah, ULTRA SONIC. I can hear it from several houses away. None of my older visitors can hear it but most visitors who are relatively young have been hearing it just as clearly and describe it as “grating” and “piercing”. Not sure if it’s a hz thing?Yet the worst thing? It’s not deterring the crows one bit, but it is deterring humans.
15 mins after I put brand new batteries in it, it stopped working entirely. Don't know if it repelled anything in that short period, other than me trying another gadget like this. Back to Bunnings for a refund. :-(
Bought to deter cats. Seemed to work by detecting motion for about a week as there was no more cat poo. Then it seemed to get stuck "ON" with non-stop flashing and clicking noise. Cat pooped right in front of it. Doesn't have a on/off switch so not sure how long batteries would last. Annoying to have to unscrew 6 screws and remove batteries any time you wanted to turn it off which we had to do every time our 21yr old son visited because he could hear the high pitched noise. Returned to Bunnings.
I purchased this unit 6 days ago, and would not recommend it. Also because it ultrasonic you can't tell if it's working!
I purchased 2 of these in the hope they'd keep the possums away from my garden. The first night after we put them up, I went outside to find a possum sitting on top of one of the repellers, watching the red lights flash. They are completely useless. Fortunately Bunnings gave a full refund.
I bought this in the hope it would deter possums, and would not recommend it. Firstly the possums are still accessing the area i was trying to deter them from. Secondly because it ultrasonic you can't tell if it's working, i have never seen a light or heard a sound come from it so no idea if it was broken or not.
Had this in the front garden (where the neighbour's cat decided it was their toilet) and it worked at first, intermittently when there was movement. Now it just goes continuously, always with the piercing electrical sound. At some point I guess the batteries will run out, but that seems wasteful too. So, it may or may not work, but not really in a position to say.
