If you are looking for something that keeps you awake at night, then this is the book you would like to have on your bedside. Ever thought of what it is like being part of an investigating team? In this particular book, Lee Child engages the reader to be part of the investigation process. The facts are there, the numbers are there and who is who are all laid out for you. There are twist and turns in the story which is somewhat similar to his other book, Bad Luck and Trouble. However similar the twists are, if you've read most of his books, you can still be never be certain who the bad guy really is. Bottom line; It still keeps your "investigative" mind on the go and this is definitely a page-turner

This is the book that inspired Tom Cruise to make the movie and even though the movie left so many characters out that were in the book, I didn't think that it lost too much in translation. Despite criticisms of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, (height, size, gravitas) the plot carries you along and gets you invested and intrigued as you turn page after page to get to the truth.

One Shot is the ninth book in my biggest guilty pleasure series – Jack Reacher. Since picking up Killing Floor, I have been slowly working my way through the Jack Reacher books. I say slowly, but it’s more of an ebb and flow when it comes to my reading of the series. There was a couple of weeks between Killing Floor and Die Trying; three months between Die Trying and Tripwire; four months between Tripwire and Running Blind; five months between Running Blind and Echo Burning; a couple of days between Echo Burning and Without Fail; five months between Without Fail and Persuader; a month between Persuader and The Enemy; five months between The Enemy and One Shot. As you can see, it’s not a series where I jump in one after the other – I pick up the series when the mood ... MoreOne Shot is the ninth book in my biggest guilty pleasure series – Jack Reacher. Nevertheless, it is a series I will continue to read.

Another book to keep you guessing. I collect Lee Child books so this book was perfect for me. As usual it kept me wanting to read more. I would recommend this book.
These books offer so much more detail than a movie can, as a veteran I catch some holes in the theorizing %26 logic, but the books tend to keep me reading to the point I finish them within 2 to 3 days.
Does not fit description. (As I have bought other books and they have been much better than this.) and the fact that pages are nearly falling out. At least all pages are present.
I have read most of the Lee Child novels but decided it was time to read the lot. One Shot of course has been turned into a movie which was fairly successful although Tom Cruise could do with a few growth pills! The Jack Reacher character is unique, a complete one off and us blokes sometimes aspire to be like him. The more you to get into the story the more you want and its gets hard to put it down. You try to work out the way the plot is going and make assumptions in your head because subconsciously your brain tells 'ah i've got this cracked' but with every Jack Reacher novel there are other twists and turns at every corner. This book is brilliant and yet another hard to put down Reacher story. It beats the film any day. This book is brilliant and yet another hard to put down Reacher story. It beats the film any day. As an added plus this was one of Jacks one liners I can't keep to myself. Brief: Jack wants information from a car spares assistant who won't give him any or look around. So Jack's reply goes along the lines of 'if you don't let me in, the only you you'll end up seeing the inside of is an ambulance'. Priceless and brilliantly written. Jack Reacher ought to be the running the security and police services because he'd be a lot better at it! Enjoy P
I have now read 90% of Reacher books. a great character aPoor mans James And with a touch of Robin Hood thrown in. The Vigilante of vigilantes. and he drinks more coffee than me.
Completing my collection of all 28 Jack Reacher books . .great thank you
As usual, you get more than you bargained for. Jack Reacher is my favorite fictional book character. Lee Child always writes a book that you just cannot put down. I have all 22 of the Lee Child library, including the most resent, "Past Tense".
