I selected this HardieDeck Decking Board because it was the lightest decking product in the range, which mean I could install it without additional assistance. Although it would be nice to have product with less weight but with the same strength. Also I needed a product that was not wood and did not expand or contract in the same way that composite decking does. The longevity of the product remains to be seen of course. It has been sealed with a clear coat because I wanted a cement look.

I have just installed this product just before christmas 2022 2 weeks ago and scealed it.It marks so easy two weeks in and loads of marks on it. There is a stamp on the back of the board saying my caise cancer.Wish i knew before I started cutting up the boards. The board came with difderent shades of gray and a lot of the boards were chipped and marks on them. It is an expensive product abd woukd expect disability out of this ptoduct but sadly it does not deliver.

On purchase of the new sections I found that Hardie had altered the product ie the snap on clips were a different width and so would not "Clip" into place. This then raises the issue that you cannot modify the decking as you basically have different sized components.The product is good but with the expense of the decking having Hardie modify the components ,this means that it becomes redundant and you end up with either a mishmash of pieces that do not fit properly or you need to buy completely new fittings and in the case of my deck which is not some 80 square meters that adds in excess of $3,000 without the cost of the deck boards not to mention the time and effort.Why modifying a product midway ... MoreI installed this a couple of years ago and decided to extend it.
