The story of how James Squire became Australia's first brewer begins with him being caught stealing ingredients from the stores to make the colony's first batch of beer. The judge sentenced him to 150 lashes, plus two barrels of ale. Fortunately for us, James Squire was a far better brewer than a thief. The 150 Lashes Pale Ale is a clean, cloudy Australian-style pale ale for crisp refreshment.

I bought a case of the premium 150 lashes and it’s not even close to the old one. 10 times better is the old one

I bought a carton, drinkable but disappointingly bland. Do the brewers at the large brewing companies hate the taste of beer?

Was a great beer, now bordering on undrinkable. Not sure why it chaned, was the best session beer available

No what it used to be. Lack of flavour. That's what happen when big companies take over small good ones, they destroy the label for making more profits. A shame.
A great brewery once again treats customers as fools. Changed labelling a while back, price remained the same but the volume of stubby was reduced. I had moved a couple of people over to this beer but they both changed after the underhanded reduction in quantity.
Unfortunately the local pubs have made this the most expensive beer on tap which has made me and a lot of my friends move to other beers at a more reasonable price. I still like this beer but have found others with great flavours that I purchase how as packaged beer.
New beer? Not the same as the old 150 lashes. Why did it change? I like the “old” 150 lashes a lot better. This “new” 150 has a lot less taste. Almost a scoffing beer!A bit sad now and looking for a replacement.
I thought they’d just relabelled it, but they have reduced the size of the stubbies to 330ml now, and tbh, it doesn’t taste as good. Really disappointed, won’t be buying it again.
Picked up a 6 pack this afternoon from Langy liquor land. Don't know what's going on but this lot pretty much fizzy water. Disappointed if this is the way the beer has gone
This Pale Ale is brilliantly executed full hops flavour up front followed up with a smooth maltiness. Not overly bittered, just an excellent example of the style. Enjoy this beer cold and paired with a big, hearty burger
