JBL IRX108BT is an awesome Portable Powered Bluetooth Speaker!!! Outstanding Job like always!!! I would definitely recommend this to others!!! It's perfect for lil get-togethers... It packs a hell of a punch very clear & clean sound!!! The only thing g that I wish it would have??? I wish it would have came as a rechargeable bluetooth speaker!!! Something for our friends down at JBL to think about!!! Hint Hint JBL!!!

I picked up 2 of these to use as stage monitors for a weekly jam and other gigs I host. They have worked wonderfully so far, sometimes the stage volume will get pretty loud with drums and guitars and these speakers hold their own and are very crisp and clear. I’ve even ran them to monitor bass guitar and they are plenty loud and clear enough to even do that, which says a lot for an 8” speaker!! Extremely light considering the 1000W of power they push. Definitely satisfied.

Feature packed but power seems overstated

Feedback suppression works great. One touch EQ for voice makes an average mic sound clear. Ducking and no line/out features also great. Only shortcoming is power. This is rated at many watts but doesn’t seem to be very loud.

Fickle, but does the job

It’s a small portable speaker that has great sound compared to the speakers I had over the years. It even shuts off after a time if it is not being used.I call it fickle because, sometimes when I go to shut it down, I got hold the button/s longer than usual. My solution is to disconnect it from the Bluetooth mode and shutting down is as easy as turning it on.I have it mounted on a portable stand.

Great little speaker

Although JBL claims 1000w peak, i doubt it. Its not that loud. However what I enjoy about JBL is the safety they put into their speakers. You'd have to be a caveman with no knowledge of audio in able to blow them up. I also purchased the Eon Compacts and those have safety measures as well. They really make sure you don't blow these up by putting in limiters and such to protect the drivers and the amps. The sound of the JBL is a great part of the product as it projects the mids and highs very accurately. The bass isn't bad but it is after all an 8 inch 2 way speaker. Highly recommend.

Great sound quality low to medium volume

I played these at low volume for maybe 40 hours befor I turned them up. These will not make very good mains because they are too narrow sound stage. Sound falls off quickly off center. Subs help a lot but highs dont change. Great sound quality at low levels. The amp is not RMS but maybe peak. The best place for these is floor monitors. The narrow sound is perfect for monitor use. Could be used as mains in a coffee shop or very small room and low volume. If you need big sound step up to bigger speakers. These are 8 inch so small and light are where these are at.

Great sound, disappointed in one feature

It's hard to go wrong with JBL sound quality, and these speakers are fine in that regard, but I had to return them because of a sleep feature that turns them off after 4 hours of no sound, which is a problem for our use. Per the support technician's email: The speaker goes to sleep if the input signal is below -40dB for 5 hours.If this feature had been printed anywhere in the description or user manual, I could've avoided the issue in my application, so that's my biggest disappointment, that it wasn't included anywhere in the documentation or specs.+5 stars for the JBL sound quality and workmanship, but -2 stars for the undocumented sleep feature.

Huge on sound and features with a couple of cons

These speakers have great sound quality and volume, and most of the additional features were quite intuitive to use with the exception of the bluetooth stereo pairing which was about the only thing that required reference to the manual to get working. I've used them as front of house speakers in a meeting room that seats about 100 people, and as stage foldback monitors, and their general performance has been excellent with the exception of one issue which wasn't apparent when I bought them that has made them unsuitable for my needs. I'll get to that later.When used in a FOH capacity they provided more than adequate volume and superb clarity in a 10m x 10m room. When used as stage monitors for either vocals or instruments they provided good sound distinction that cut through the ambient stage noise without contributing excessively to the overall noise volume.What wasn't mentioned in the literature for this speaker that has proved a problem to me is that they have no power memory capability when the power is cut to them so each time power is disconnected and then restored to them you have to press the power button on the back of the speaker for it to come on. This won't be an issue for a lot of people considering these speakers but it has proved problematic for me. When they were installed as FoH speakers they were on wall brackets at the height recommended by JBL that unfortunately put the power button in an unreachable position from the floor so a small step ladder had to be used each time the speakers were powered on from the PA master switch. The only alternative to this would have been to leave them powered on 24/7 which wasn't really an option in an installation that would only be used once or twice a week. This was much less of a problem when used as stage monitors because they were on the floor and easily reached but it was still inconvenient that they were the only items on the stage that required special attention when the power boards were switched on. One last final gripe was that when they were powered on the bluetooth stereo pairing didn't happen automatically and had to be manually initiated every time.For speakers that are used most days and can be left on 24/7 these are worthy of consideration for anyone looking for speakers in this size but for speakers that have to be regularly turned off and on from a power outlet or master switch I'd say look elsewhere.

The IRX is amazing.

The IRX is possibly the most versatile speaker/amp. It can stand alone and play guitar and vocals. As a stage monitor it works great for both the floor, and on a pole for my drummer. It works with the mixer setiup as a speaker or monitor. The effects work well with the ability to add just a little bit of reverb without the mixer having to try to do it ALL. I am using a PRX ONE with 2 of the IRX for monitoring. I can run 1, 2, or all 3 depending on the event.
