Everything from the laughtrack on old sitcoms, to the treble and annunciation of lyrics, to the magnificent bass from a car crash in a movie sounds clear and crisp.I wondered if it was really only good when used at high capacity, and was pleased when I could still use the speaker to watch golf early in the morning while everyone sleeps. One of the best features of the PartyBox is it's connectivity options. You can connect two devices which allows it to be used as an entertainment center around a TV, but can also switch over instantly to be a speaker for a party or background music from your phone while you make dinner. It can certainly be used specifically as a professional karaoke box (see pictures with review for single/multiple microphone plugs). It also has a pairing feature JBL included if you wanted to join two PartyBoxes together. Additionally, there are Gain 1 & 2 plugs on the machine - I, unfortunately, have no experience in these. For additional inputs, the PartyBox has a USB and AUX port to allow connection of non-Bluteooth devices. The funniest thing I found was were the buttons on top of the machine (1-3) which, when pressed, play an airhorn, clapping, or record scratching. While I haven't used this for karaoke yet, I'm sure those would be fun additions for any singer/DJ.Overall I recommend this product wholeheartedly. It is so much fun, has such amazing quality and power, and adds a nice touch to anyone who might host a party or movie nights.

I'm completely blown away by the power of this sound system. The bass is extremely powerful, and extends very low, so you can litterally feel the bass. The mids and treble are also great and fairly balanced. There are many nice features including customizable lights and dj sound effects. The light show is mesmerising to watch, with many different modes. Build quality is very good and enhanced by the sturdy wheels which make transportation easier. I certainly recommend to anyone looking for a party speaker system, beware of the weight though as it is very heavy. For comparisons sake, I had a W-king T11, and a Soundcore Motion Boom plus before this speaker which are excellent, and quite powerful, but the 710 is several leagues above them.

Awesome Speaker! Great for karaoke.

Awesome loudspeaker with thundering bass and clear highs !
14 January 2023

Did a bunch of research to buy a new loudspeaker. Have a pair of SONY GTK-XB7's in my shop, but got tired of taking them back and forth to our campsite. The SONY's are just as fine, but wanted something with more THUMP. Checked these out in the store. ALMOST got the next biggest size but glad I didn't, they're a little overkill for me. This speaker is a BEAST with THUNDERING bass and crisp highs at high volumes. I'm debating to get another one. It's DEFINITELY a crowd pleaser at the campsite that has about 450 trailers. It is AWESOME when Bluetoothed to my Halloween music and the light show plays to the beat of the music and changes color as well. If you're thinking about it, BUY IT !!!

For the people complaining about price, a dollar a watt is a deal. As well, several websites offer Klarna and afterpay, so you can buy this and make small monthly payments. For nearly a decade I’ve been hounding my husband to buy me a speaker that makes my chest explode. He’s tried at least a dozen different JBLs and other brands and none come close to this JBL. I am BEYOND thrilled I bought myself this speaker. Im definitely buying the second one and connecting them, so glad that’s a feature. The app is awesome to have as well. I built a dance studio on my first floor of my tri-level and this is overkill but I love it, there’s not one thing I can complain about except I wish the power cord was a bit hardier and longer since this is portable. I already broke the cord after one day. Ooops, completely my fault, I’m really tough on electronics. If anything a good test song on this speaker, “Make it Bun Dem” by Skrillex, really gives the speaker a workout and shows it’s true potential.

Believe the hype - but don't count on the app
18 March 2023

I don't write reviews but I have to say I am amazed at the sound. I have an open 1800 sq ft room with glass on 3 slides and it is filled with sound and bass. Its genuinely amazing. I don't use bass boost and like the sound best without. Also sounds great at lower volumes. I never really need to turn up past 75%, and most listening is at 25-40%. However, the app just never worked on my iPhone XR. I did have an android tablet and was able to update firmware but didn't help iPhone situation. Pitty as it it allows you to customize lights.Overall, for my type of music (Hip hop and rap with some soft house for chilling) - I think its the best way to spend the money.

Good, but could be better

I think reading the reviews and watching them on YouTube gave me expectations that were too high. I cant find any rms numbers for this speaker is it 800 rms 800 "max" is it truly putting out 800 watts? I've been building speaker and subwoofer enclosures for the last 15 years, if I were to make a true 800 watt speaker it would without a doubt be louder than this that is why I question the 800 watt rating. I got lucky and there were a couple sales and discount codes so I picked it up for almost $200 under it's $800 price tag. I think that was a much more reasonable price considering what you are getting, I definitely would not pay almost $900 with tax for this. The mobility of this is amazing for what it is it's a 60+ lb speaker but the wheels make it quite easy to roll around the house and to the yard.

Great semi-pro "loudspeaker" option from JBL
13 October 2021

Let me state for context where I feel the Partybox 710 "fits in" to the JBL product line and speaker offerings in general. It's essentially a "loud speaker" a specific class that is neither a portable speaker/boom box nor a high fidelity home speaker system. And while on wheels, a truly portal speaker this is not. First, it's fairly big (~3 feet/90 cm tall) and heavy (~70 lb/31 kg) and either requires two people to carry or you can roll (sort of) using built-in wheels (more on that at the end). As a loudspeaker it packs plenty of "punch" (volume) and excels in the bass/low-end. I mean WALL SHAKING. I set it up on my deck outside and at less than half volume, I could feel the bass coming through an insulated outside wall with siding into the room inside. As a loudspeaker it packs plenty of "punch" (volume) and excels in the bass/low-end. I mean WALL SHAKING. I set it up on my deck outside and at less than half volume, I could feel the bass coming through an insulated outside wall with siding into the room inside. That said, it lacks on the high end (treble) but I believe that is somewhat by design. Loudspeaker systems are intended to be used for larger venues or outdoors for party events where your high-end treble isn't as "meaningful" as your mid-range because it travels more uni-directionally (while bass is omni-directional). The goal is to be loud and to PROJECT sound. With some 800W of power built-in, the 710 can certainly do that although I started to get a bit more distortion above 75% volume (which is still subjectively really loud although I don't own sound meter to test exact decibels). And you can always make some sound adjustments using an EQ on your source. The built in light show is fun for parties or shows although serves little purpose if you just want a big' ol boom box for your large (very large) back yard (and neighbors very far away ;-) ). The control app has basic functions for light control (color, combination selection, etc.), nothing programmable which again I'd expect for a semi-pro line. But pick a style of lights and it does a pretty good job of syncing to the beat and you can use the app to switch those selections "live" if you're doing a little party mixing/DJing. I didn't have the ability test the speaker pairing capabilities but I can't imagine a pair of these things couldn't handle a large party hall/wedding and in stereo must be amazing. My two minor complaints are that the slot provided at the top for holding onto a device (phone/tablet) is clever but too thin for any of my devices in cases. A flip-up style support bar may be a potential solution that comes to mind. The other is that the wheels are just barely helpful. The smallest quarter inch bump and you are grinding to a halt (or yanking your arm off) while rolling along. So forget stairs or even multi-stepped door thresholds. You're going to find yourself bear hugging and lifting it over just about everything. JBL engineers really need to "road test" this aspect of their designs and incorporate a larger wheel with a bit more clearance (and probably then a locking mechanism to keep the speaker where you place it). That said, this is the biggest speaker I've owned from JBL and I'm impressed with the build quality, amplifier power (yes, it needs to be plugged in), sound quality (for a loudspeaker) and features. And despite it's size, I'll likely be lugging it out to my back yard for BBQs and parties because I don't see myself going back to my Extreme 3 boom box now that I've experienced the BOOM (power) of a true loudspeaker. :-)

Mind blowing speaker, just buy one, no regrets!
15 November 2023

I bought 1 710 about 2 years ago and a few months ago I bought a second 710. I did not need 2 at all! But I wanted it! I don't travel much with them but when I do it's a definite crowd pleaser. I use 1 or both in my smallish house because I LOVE music. The bass these machines put out is on another level. They get LOUD I say loud but a good loud, you still get all the bass with no distortion. The lights are a great feature, many options to choose from with the JBL partybox app. Money well spent and not wasted. If you love music as much as I do, plus that deep rumbling bass just buy it. You will not regret your decision. Alot of personal winter concerts in the near future. Thank you JBL!
