These things go on and on and on for hours on a single charge.Only down side - the tap function on the earbud is very sensitive. When I shift the earbuds in my ear, I inevitably trigger a change between ANC, ambient aware or talk through. Not a big problem at all ... just a minor annoyance. You get a LOT for the pricer with the JBL TUNE BEAM ... great sound, three different sounds settings, a very useful app and TONS of life on a single charge. And they look and feel great ... very premium and very comfortable.Speaking of comfort ... the box includes three different sizes for various sized ear canals.

It is the first time that I use a double earphone. It is interesting that you have the possibility to use only one side (mono) instead of both (stereo).I mainly used it when I was riding the bicycle, going to work or taking my son to school...sometimes even going for a relax ride. The earphone behaved well with my sweat (it is pretty warm nowadays), and it was easy to clean...it didn't affect the sound quality...and boy, what a sound quality...the ambience awareness mode is very interesting. The case (which also recharge the earphones) is sturdy and made with good quality material, it has an USB-C port to be recharged as well.It is wonderful that there is an integration with Google Assistant, and you can read/write SMS and Whatsapp messages, and also trigger some ... Example of commands are the standard (volume up/down, next/previous song, etc...) but also switch between modes (ambient awareness, noise canceling, etc.) and Google Assistant. The how-to start those commands are easily available in the small but instructive quick guide. The earphone case is flat on the back, but not on the bottom, so you cannot let it standing up. I found it annoying. It also has a magnet to secure the earphone to its place inside the case, unfortunately the experience of removing and inserting the earphone is not optimal. The part of the earphone that you have available to pull out ot the case is slippery and small. During the night and sleepy or while in low lighting it can be challenging to stick the earphones inside the case, it has a very particular position to be inserted.Another issue that I faced which was quite frustrating, was that one day I wanted to ride for a long path my bike and I took the earphones and put them into my pocket. Once I reached the start of the path I wanted to use the earphones, but for my surprise I couldn't connect to my Android phone. The earphone was full on battery, the smartphone as well, bluetooth was enabled. I unfortunatelly could not pair it as well, as it seemed that the earphone was totally shut off, no pairing mode available. There was no way to "turn it on" or to reset it...The only solution was to return to home and put them into the case, which after seconds was available again to connect and to pair.I had just a few annoying experiences, but the overall I'm very positive about my experience with this earphone.

The JBL Tune Beam earbuds provide quality sound at an affordable price. These are a perfect option to wear while working at a desk, walking or exercising, and particularly commuting.Logistically, these earbuds are packed with features, including: 12 hour battery life (another 36 with the case), USB-C charging, simple pairing, and active noise cancelling. The suggested battery life seems to hold up in testing - these made it through multiple rounds of golf without needing to go back to the case to charge. Pairing was extremely easy and the use of USB-C makes charging much more simple and fast between multiple devices. The noise cancelling technology was an added bonus at this price point, as only some comparable products had this feature.Highly suggest these for ... The JBL Tune Beam seems to be a great 'headset earbud', it has super clear, crisp audio, nice touch controls, good app and computer support, and pairs and connects to multiple devices with no issues. What it seems to be lacking, at least for my earholes, is full sound and a bottom end. Bass is almost completely lacking with my fit. If I push them in and hold them with my hands, it's better, but still not as good as my Reflect Aeros or my True Wireless Flash earbuds. When not being smashed in by my hands, I'd rate their sound (for music), at 6. Aeros=8, TrueWirelessFlash=9. For conference calls or audiobooks, I'll give them 10, because, again they are crystal clear. The ANC (active noise cancelling) works, and is enough for headset use, and, again, lacking for ... When not being smashed in by my hands, I'd rate their sound (for music), at 6. Aeros=8, TrueWirelessFlash=9. For conference calls or audiobooks, I'll give them 10, because, again they are crystal clear. The ANC (active noise cancelling) works, and is enough for headset use, and, again, lacking for music. Mostly because I think with my fit, the full range of sound isn't present and thus also can't be cancelled. As far as fit, which is where I think most of the problems (and one of the positives) stem from: I think these earbuds are designed for people with smaller earholes. I included a picture of them side by side with my Aeros, and the earbud body that lodges up against your ear canal is much smaller. I used the largest gels, but it didn't make a difference. That might make these perfect for a younger and/or smaller person. Aside from the sound range loss, they feel as though they could fall out with any sort of activity. The positive side, and it really is nice, is that I could, and did, wear them for all day conference calls. No ear ache after!I love the look and feel of the buds and the case. The earbuds slide into the charger firmly and easily. I like the lighting and I enjoy the touch controls. Two small ergonomic gripes would be that the case can't really stand up and the buds can be a little hard to grasp to pull out of the case.Overall I'd say this: if you generally like bigger earbuds (you always use the large gels like me), you may want to skip these.. UNLESS you want to use them as a headset.. I certainly will. If you are a bit smaller, and find most earbuds too big, these may be for you!
The JBL Tune Beam offer great sound, noice canceling and a solid build quality at a affordable price. When using the headphones on a daily basis I was surprised by the build quality and comfort. The headphones don’t fall out of your ears, even when running. The controls on the headphones themselves are user friendly and allow you to quickly change between the different listening modes. The JBL Tune Beams unfortunately are held back by software issues. Occasionally when listening to music one of the headphones stops working, this can only be fixed by reinserting the headphones in the charging case. Furthermore when listening to media on your mobile phone the headphones occasionally turn on, even though the headphones are charging in the accompanying case. This results in sound switching from your mobile phone to the headphones, this can be vary frustrating. I hope JBL resolves this in a future software update.

1. Build Quality of the Earphones (EP) and the Case are good. The Case opens using a simple flip mechanism. But, the EPs fit inside the case properly and do not fall out.2. IP54 rating appears to be adequate for workouts, a light drizzle and a casual jog in the park or a commute in the bus on a hot day (while listening to music or attending calls).3. Comfort - While the case is broad and bigger than One plus Buds case (for comparison), it will fit in a Jeans pocket. The EPs are light weight and one can listen to songs and have phone conversation without any discomfort for an hour or two. It is recommended to use the larger ear tips provided in the box for a secure fit. The stalk design also helps in placing the EPs comfortably in the ears and our mind won't be pre-occupied with the thought that, these will fall off easily, which may happen in case of earbuds.4. Sound - Apt for those who do not like over the top punchy bass. The various instruments can be clearly heard without any distortion and the vocals are pleasant. One can get lost in the song, especially if it has a lot of instruments in the background. Any music lover will like these EPs. It is recommended to hear the songs within 75% volume. The JBL Headphones App is a value addition and contains a large number of customizations like, Equalizer with Custom modes, ANC, Ambient aware, Talk Thru, Max Volume limiter, Find my Buds, Power saver. As such, the Sound of the EP are very good and the Equalizer need not be used (courtesy- JBL has tuned the EPs remarkably and surely deserve an applause). As it appears, the ANC may be <40Db, which is average and I couldn't hear much of a difference when the ANC was turned off or when it was turned on. The Ambient Aware mode is surely good, if one wants to listen to the surroundings (to be aware of in an office space or home with kids around or in a kitchen) and listen to songs simultaneously.5. Features - Apart from those mentioned above, there are gesture controls to switch between ANC, Ambient aware and Talk Thru modes and to Play, Pause, switch songs, etc. and these work with a simple tap on the EPs. There is absence of In ear detection. But, you can always tap the EPs to stop the songs. The Power saver has Auto Standby and Auto Power off which are useful. The Voice prompts aren't intrusive (when switching between modes) and these can be turned off to replace them with a simple beep. There is Voice assistant - Native, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa to choose from. The Smart Audio and Video mode are stated to improve Voice and Video performance (but these haven't been used by me yet). The Voice Aware states that it will help in controlling, how much of our own voice is heard during calls (but these haven't been used by me yet).6. Battery - clearly the stand out feature here. Even with ANC on, these EPs won't go dry for hours together. One Plus Bud Pro were such a let down and in their comparison in this department, JBL Tune Beam shine very brightly. I am in awe of this feature. However, I did notice that, the Left EP stopped charging on the 2nd day for a couple of hours. It showed at 70%, when the right EP was at 100%. Maybe a software glitch or loose contact. But, it worked fine after that. They charge quickly, but don't drain quickly. The EPs charge when we place them in the case and the case charges through a Type-C and to Type-A connector provided in the box (Box contains - 2 additional pair of ear tips, a bright orange coloured charging cable, Instructions manual, Warranty guide and some leaflet in Chinese. yes, Made in China !).7. Price - These would have been a steal in Rs. 5,000-Rs. 5,500 range. This is being said, as the Oppo Air3 Pro are available at Rs. 5,000. Therefore, a tad pricey.8. Calls and Connectivity - No issues at all. Calls are clean and crisp. Probably, the stalk design helps a bit here. Bluetooth range is fine and I am not too concerned here.Overall, JBL has done a good job by bringing out these EPs, an update over 230Nc - the predecessor.
