It is velvet/suede feeling and so soft. Its like petting my cat haha!!! Once I pulled the bottle out of the box, my next wow moment happened when I seen THE COOLEST bottle ever! The top looks like Marilyn Monroe’s legs. Such a unique and classy bottle! Now onto the actual scent itself. So upon first sniff, I really honestly do not think I would purchase it based on my very first impression. I also can tell you that I don’t lean towards “intense” fragrances. However, my job was to review it so I sprayed some on my wrists and went about my day at work. At first the scent was a bit overpowering and almost made me feel headachy but that didn’t last longer than a couple minutes. It smelled a little like I was baking something. And I liked the smell more and more as the day went on. At the end of the night, I could still smell it on my skin which is pretty impressive. I noticed the caramel notes but I couldn’t pick up the jasmine or vanilla. I wore it everyday for 7 days to get a good feel before I wrote this review and I think my final opinion is that I will use this fragrance occasionally but will continue to use my fruity based fragrances for daily use. This one feels like I should be wearing it for special events only lol! That being said, I will also point out that every single person who came into my office commented on it without me asking them too. It is a noticeable fragrance. Once you get past the major intensity of the scent in the first few minutes, the scent becomes really enjoyable. I can safely recommend this to other that enjoy an intense fragrance but I don’t think I would buy it for myself. When the box first arrived, I was really excited to open it. I loved the velvety texture and attention to detail on the packaging. I quite liked the bottle as well. I thought it was cute and kitschy. But that’s where my pleasure ended. Upon first spray, I noticed immediately that had a sweet, familiar smell. I couldn’t put a finger on it, but then once it dried, I realized it was my old friend Dr Pepper. After the scent really really settled, it became a mixture of baby powder and sweet soda. If you like powdery sweet scents, this might be the one for you. But it certainly doesn’t suit me at all. Normally, I get compliments on my perfume wherever I go, on the two separate occasions I wore this nobody said anything other than my husband. I didn't know what to expect when I saw I was getting this and read the scent description: Jasmine, salted caramel and vanilla. When it arrived I was first surprised how luxurious the packaging is, the box is even covered in a suede like material that makes it feel fancy. The style of the bottle doesn't really match my personality as red is not my favourite colour and the legs etc is just not my thing but I wouldn't hold that against the product by any means! It is meant to be a sexy, date night type of scent and the bottle image goes right along with that. The scent itself is so good! I had been obsessed with trying to find a dupe of black opium, and while this is not the same it's the same type of gourmand, sweet scent with a hint of spice. To me it was like wearing a hot, spicy, peppery, caramelized creme brûlée! It’s scent was intoxicating and seductive and sultry all at the same time. I’m a fan of Gaultier and the boundaries he pushes, but I find Scandal and the ‘sex appeal’ campaign a little pedestrian for my tastes. I tend to like fruity, fresh scents and musky sweet scents that aren’t cloying or overpowering. This doesn’t really fit into those categories. I would wear it, but it’s not something I’d reach for everyday. It’s not the sort of perfume you’d wear to the office. Scandal is more well-suited for a night out. I do have to say the scent is very strong and truly a little goes a long way even throughout the day. I do find the smell to be a little mature; something you would wear at a wedding or event. It is a very sweet eau de parfum, maybe even a little too overpowering hence the 3 stars. Although I like the caramel and vanilla I find it to be smelling a little artificial and strong. But for someone who is looking for a perfume to truly last with only 1-2 sprays this is perfect! I Also thought I’d mention the bottle design itself as the box on the outside was hot red I was expecting the same for the bottle. But unfortunately it’s is almost an orange red and the gold finishing looks a little cheap. I agree with the other reviews regarding the similarities to the CD Hypnotic Poison (edt) specifically in comparison to the scent.. but there is a significant difference in scent strength between the CD Hypnotic Poison EDP and EDT as the EDP is stronger/ more potent and lasts longer and you can use less of it each time you spray... I would even suggest not forgetting how strong CD HYPNOTIC POISON EDP scent is and to remember it's never getting any less potent from the first time you ever sprayed it on you up until the present moment, you become less sensitive to the scent over time and you could overspray it if you're not careful. I feel that the reason why i even noticed the scandal intense is due to my first love of CD Hypnotic poison but when i noticed that they were so similar, it wasn't until the Scandal Intense scent settles down after spraying and minutes have passed. CD Hypnotic poison was immediately perfect no wait time needed. But the scandal intense makes it easier for me to be able to pick up and smell the after scent reminiscent of play dough smell lingering around with the CD Hypnotic Poison since the Scandal Intense didn't have that happening. They're all truly the best, people you must try. JPG Scandal Intense 10/10!!
