Maverick. At one point in time, the word would conjure up memories of a television show featuring a loveable family of gamblers. In today's political climate, it gets tossed around a lot more. Sometimes it is meant as a compliment; sometimes it's not. John McCain used it to describe both himself and vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, as independent-minded politicians during the 2008 election. Accurate or not, he didn't coin the term. The first political 'maverick' was a Texas politician from the mid 1800s, Samuel Augustus Maverick. For whatever reason, he refused to brand his cattle, which got his neighbors quite upset when the herds co-mingled. From then on, all cattle without brand markings were called 'mavericks'. Another maverick of an intergalactic sort was Qui Gon Jinn. He didn't kowtow to Jedi High Council rules. In fact, Qui-Gon could have been a Grand Master with a seat on the Council himself, but he followed his own path. He learned the ways of the Force and explored the possibilities of using the Force after death to manifest oneself. To say the Council wasn't too keen on that is an understatement. If you want to channel your inner maverick, this Qui Gon Jinn outfit is for you. The cream tunic and brown pants are perfect for Jedi rebels and Texas land barons alike.

I chose this jedi costume because it seemed of higher quality than most of the Luke Skywalkers I found. I was pleased with the quality, for what it is. The material is nicer than the standard Halloween costume nylon. My son was very upset at first that the color of the shirt is not quite the same as in the picture; the picture shows an off-white, and the costume itself is more of a camel color. I thought the color was appropriate, and looked nice, regardless of whether it matched the picture. We also had a little trouble figuring out how it goes on. It was too large for my son (bought medium, he's about to turn 7), and I ended up taking the sleeves and hem up a bit. Then, we figured out the "lapels" (for lack of a better term) are crossed in front, then the "flaps" ... MoreI chose this jedi costume because it seemed of higher quality than most of the Luke Skywalkers I found. The belt holds these crossed pieces in place. It looked great, and the dads we passed while trick-or-treating especially seemed to appreciate it.

The Target website lists this costume in medium as 7-8. When it arrived, it was huge! On the package it has several sizes listed in Spanish and English...and the size on package says a medium is 8-10. That's way different when you need it to fit a small 7 year old. the costume itself is really cute, but sized wrong. had no problems returning it to Target store nearby.

Better than I expected! : I bought this jedi knight costume for my son for his nursery fancy dress party. after reading reviews on it from other sites, i was a little put off as it was described in some cases as falling apart, tatty, not worth the money etc. but on opening it today, i was pleasantly surprised - it isnt hemmed, which may lead to problems in the future, but the material doesnt look like it is the sort to start fraying straight away. it is thicker material than i expected, and the belt comes as seperate too which is a bonus. i bought the small size for my 4 (nearly 5) year old, as even though the size guide on this site says small is for 3-4 year olds, the actual height in cm''s it states is at least 6 cm taller than my son is at the moment. he hasnt ... MoreBetter than I expected! : I bought this jedi knight costume for my son for his nursery fancy dress party. after reading reviews on it from other sites, i was a little put off as it was described in some cases as falling apart, tatty, not worth the money etc. but on opening it today, i was pleasantly surprised - it isnt hemmed, which may lead to problems in the future, but the material doesnt look like it is the sort to start fraying straight away. it is thicker material than i expected, and the belt comes as seperate too which is a bonus. i bought the small size for my 4 (nearly 5) year old, as even though the size guide on this site says small is for 3-4 year olds, the actual height in cm''s it states is at least 6 cm taller than my son is at the moment. he hasnt seen the costume yet, but is really looking forward to getting his hands on it later today - i cant envisage having any problems with it, it all looks in proportion etc and i think he will be delighted.

The tunic and belt are completely different than shown in the photo for this product. However my kid didn’t mind, so I will give 3 stars. It is overpriced considering the poor quality in my opinion.
I ordered a size 7-8 for my 6.5 year old. It fits a little big as expected and gives him more time to wear it. He tried it on for maybe five minutes simply standing up and then sitting down. When he took it off I noticed how poorly is it sewn. The elastic on the pants does not line up. Even worse, at the edge of the shoulders, the stitching is either incomplete or was not tied off so it is all coming undone on both sides. For the price, the material is what I expect, but I would at least hope for sewing that doesn't come unraveled before my son can even wear it out of the house. if you don't mind adding some reinforced stitching, this is probably okay to buy on sale. If you want something that will hold up for more than one night, this may not be it.
The picture on the web site as well as the picture on the front of the package are this same little boy wearing a nice costume with finished seams and seemingly quality (for a costume) work. What we actually got in the package was a poorly cut (jagged edges) unfinished mess that was covered in hanging threads and quite honestly looks a fright. The material is extremely thin and printed on one side. The word "Deluxe" in this costume title is a big fat lie.
Sizing posted is not helpful. I ordered the L (10-12). My son normally wears a 10 in clothing. Received the package and it’s labeled size 12-14 to fit an 8-10 year old. My son is 8 and this is way too big. I think the pants would fit an adult. Now the medium is out of stock :(
Good fit but costume was sewn together poorly. Seams are mismatched in very noticeable locations such as the neckline and need to be fixed up. Hoping re-sewing will sort it out but I would think that by purchasing a finished costume, I wouldn't have a need to take apart and put it back together correctly (maybe just standard altering like shortening of sleeves/legs if needed).
This costume doesn't even look like the picture. I'm extremely disappointed. I managed to find the smallest size it came in for my four year old. We got the 3-4T and it was WAY too big. You couldn't see his hands, the neckline shows his stomach, and his feet kept getting caught in the pants. The little flap in the front does not stay put. At all. By the end of the night, it will have braided itself. We sewed up the pants and sleeves to make it fit better and sewed the flap together so it wouldn't become separated. It's not too terrible now, but considering it doesn't even come with the hood, it isn't worth it...
Although I ordered late, your delivery was just in time for my grandson's birthday, the outfit fitted him well and his father took him on an outing wearing this outfit.
