I liked everything about the product, the color, size, fit and design. The battery life was really good. When it arrived, it was fully charged and I used it for 2-3 hours daily for about a week before the battery got lower. I will say that once the battery dropped to like 80%, it felt like it started dying quicker than it should/or at least quicker than I expected. My only issue really was the sound quality. The headphones were too low for me, even when they were at a fairly high point. The sound just feels muffled/dimmed down/ not well projected compared to my previous headphones. Also, the sound spillage was really bad. I could be playing music at a low/medium (usually 45-55%) volume and whoever was around me could hear what I was listening to and clearly. I ... I expected more and really wanted to be able to keep them but I just didn't feel happy with my purchase knowing I wasn't enjoying my listening experience so I returned it. I would recommend them if you want comfortable, stylish and lightweight headphones, also if you don't really like your music being too loud or you just want really good noise cancelling headphones and don't really care about it not having good sound projection. I think for the price it could be worth it, especially because of how amazing the ANC is. I couldn't hear my mom talking to me and she was standing right next to me (this was at like 65% volume).

I've been playing around with the Jlab Jbuds Lux ANC headphones for a few days and have enjoyed them. I wanted to get some new headphones for my kids and these do a decent job for most of their uses. The headphones are constructed fairly well. They are based on a metal band like my old Anker Soundcore Life Tune XR. The Jlab headphones have a slightly smaller cup size but fit just fine over my ears. There is a mesh fabric covered padding at the top and I had no problems with comfort after several hours. The cups rotate flat towards the rear and fold up nicely for travel and have a decent amount of swivel (about 13mm), so they conform nicely to my head. There is just one port on these headphones for the included USB-C cord for charging and for audio. I'm a little disappointed it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. If they did, they would be an easy answer for all my kids traveling needs (e.g. airplanes still only push audio through the 3.5mm jack)Along with the USB-C port, there are 3 distinct buttons all on the right hand cup. A multi-function power button, a volume rocker and a noise cancel button. The buttons can perform different functions depending on single tap, double tap, long press and sometimes a triple tap.Connecting via Bluetooth is pretty standard. You'll want to install the Jlab app on a mobile device. This will allow you to set EQ, hearing protection level, limited button assignment and check for new firmware. I found the that the EQ allows you a wide range of customization control for your audio listening pleasure. I didn't quite like the out of the box sound, but a few quick adjustments and the sound is very pleasing to me.I then connected the Jlab headphones to my computer for watching videos and taking calls. Noise cancelling is about what I expected in this price range. It certainly cannot compete with top Noise Cancelling headphones that cost 3x or more, but they don't need to for normal use. I did realize that the noise cancelling provides a little bit of white noise like a steady fan pushing air past your ears on low. I however, did not really like the "Be aware" mode. It amplifies mid-range noise a little too much and adds in too much white noise.Using these Jlab headphones on a phone call, my more discerning audience find me a little harder to hear. I've received feedback that the audio is a little muffled or not very crisp. I believe this and the noise cancelling performance are all tied to the microphones.Battery life is really decent at over 40 hours. There is also a quick charge option where a 10 minute charge can offer up to 4 hours of operation. As I started out saying, these headphones are aimed for my kids use and I think they fit for most of their usage scenarios. There are two points where I would tick off their rating, no 3.5 mm jack and the microphones being slightly less than clear. Aside from those, I found the operation of these headphones to be very easy to pick up and I really like the customizability granted from the EQ.

The headphones paired up with my smartphone very quickly and easily in pairing mode. The headphones use Bluetooth 5.3 and have a range of 30 feet or so. I have found the connection to be stable and consistent in my usage so far. The battery life can run you for up to 70 hours without ANC and 40 hours with ANC activated, but this will vary for everyone's daily usage. The headphones take about 2.5 hour for a full charge from zero, but with the fast charge capability you get 4 hours of playtime in approximately 10 minutes of charging.I highly recommend this to anyone who wants ANC over the headphones without spending a fortune. I feel that this JLab Jbuds Lux ANC is high quality and performs very well overall. Great value, modern design, great comfort, and great sound playback.

The hinges and swivels are plastic, but they look like they're designed and constructed such that they'll hold up for the long haul.FIT AND COMFORTThese headphones feel more like semi over-ears or on-ears rather than over-ears. The cushions are soft and comfy but on the small side and not very deep, so my ears press against the inside of the driver cover. Hot spots on my ears became apparent after about 30 minutes. I got used to it after a few days, at which point it only got uncomfortable after a couple of hours. The headband pad is small and only covers the top 3.75” inches or so as opposed to most studio headphones, which often have pads covering most of the length of the headband; however, the pad on the JBuds Lux provides a decent amount of padding. At no point during several hours of use did I feel a hot spot at the top of my head.I was hoping to use these headphones for work, where I’ll be needing them for durations longer than a couple of hours, but that would require bigger and deeper cushions. Unfortunately, the pads are not user replaceable, so this option is out, and then this pair won't be suitable for work as I had hoped.Clamping force is slightly on the tighter side for me, but it’s not the worst I’ve felt.Ultimately, for me, these headphones will be tolerable for occasional long-duration listening, like during long-haul air travel, but probably not for daily long-duration usage. They will be great while doing chores for maybe two hours at a time max. For longer durations, I’ll need to stick with my studio headphones with true over-ear cushions.SETUP AND APPSetting up the headphones with the app on my Pixel 7 Pro running Android 14 was extremely easy. The app’s user interface is very intuitive, clean, and user-friendly. Using the app isn’t necessary in order to pair and just get basic functionality, but if you want to set the custom EQ, ANC or ambient pass-through levels, reassign buttons, or set max output levels, you’ll need the app. It’s nice that the audio settings are stored on the headphones rather than the app, so if you pair the headphones with more than one source or use it hardwired, you can still access the ANC levels and Custom EQ setting. The app doesn’t need to be installed on both devices, assuming, of course, that you installed the app and set the levels in at least one device first.NOISE CANCELINGThe active noise canceling is impressive for the price. Although I am not a fan of ANC due to the pressure it creates in my ears, it does a good job, and I very much appreciate the ability to set the ANC level so it doesn't hurt my ears. The Be Aware ambient passthrough mode produces good ambient sound if on the airy side.AUDIOThe sound is decent. I’m no audio reviewer, so I’m not going to attempt an audio review worthy of the name. Basically, the sound isn’t the cleanest, but I’ve heard worse at this price point. The sound stage is a little close for my preference, but, again, for the price, I’m not complaining. The predefined EQ profiles are OK. For most music, Signature seemed best, but for spoken word, I preferred Balanced. Bass Boost is pretty useless to me. It just ended up muddying the sound. The Custom EQ offers more flexibility and I was able to improve on the Signature preset, but it’s a huge pain to work with. You can’t set any of the presets as a starting point to play around with. All the sliders start at zero, so you have to work from scratch. And, oddly, the grayed out slider positions you see when you select a preset don’t actually correspond to the same output when you recreate the same slider positions in Custom EQ (so maybe working off a preset wouldn’t be that helpful in the end anyway). I was able to tune Custom to sound something like Signature with a bit more boost in the mids and highs, but the slider positions looked VERY different from the Signature graphic.More EQ weirdness:1) The sliders are a little janky. They’re stepped, so they’ll jump up or down from where you lift your finger, and not in a consistent-feeling way.2) The values of the sliders are not shown, it’s entirely graphical, so it’s really difficult to dial in adjustments accurately.I feel like the Custom EQ is the key to get the best sound out of these headphones, but it’s really kneecapped. JLab should put in some work to make this feature a legit selling point.I couldn’t figure out how to get spatial audio to work. Maybe I didn’t have compatible sources. Didn’t really care about it though, so it’s not a loss for me.MICROPHONEThe microphone quality is good for calls and voice recordings. Nothing more to report there.BATTERY LIFEAfter several days and a few hours of use per day, the battery is still at 100%, so I'm going to assume JLab is reporting the battery life accurately or even possibly underreporting it.DISAPPOINTMENTS AND ODDITIES1) The non-replaceable pads are a big disappointment. Fitment issues could have been resolved with bigger, thicker aftermarket pads. The other problem is that pads are always consumable parts. They WILL eventually disintegrate, and they’ll do so far sooner than the point at which the battery will no longer hold sufficient charge. Once they do, you’ll either hope you can find an aftermarket cover that would fit to keep the flakes off your ears, or toss it. To make these pads last as long as they possibly can, you’ll have to be pretty vigilant about wiping off sweat and oils after every use.2) The noise cancellation toggle always starts on Be Aware ambient passthrough mode. I wish it remembered the last mode.3) The spoken status indicators take around a full second and it interrupts audio playback every time you change an EQ or noise canceling mode. It’s really disruptive when trying to toggle through EQ modes to find the best one for the source content. I would prefer quick numbered beeps instead.CLOSING COMMENTSOverall, the JBUDS LUX ANC headphones offer good build quality, easy set-up, decent sound quality, good ANC/ambient features, and great battery life. The storage of audio settings onboard instead of relying on the app is a plus. However, the pads are too small and shallow and non-replaceable, and the EQ needs work. If JLab addresses these two issues, this would be a 5-star offering, in my opinion.
The JBuds Lux wireless headphones are probably the perfect headphones for those that want to have a lot of features, and not spend an arm and a leg to get them. They are not the best sounding or have the best “aware and ANC” modes, nor do they have the best app to customize them, but they do have a great price and everything it does, is great for this price. These are perfect for my kids to be honest. They are well built, have a great battery life (70+ hours), are foldable and comfortable for them. They were also comfortable for my bigger head as well and the padded headband was good also. JLab gives you a full two-year warranty and 30-day money back guarantee as well. Bluetooth multipoint is probably the very best feature that this has. I have much more expensive headphones that don’t offer this feature, and for those that don’t know what it is, it basically allows you to have the headphones paired to two different devices, think tablet and computer, and then seamlessly connect between the two at the same time. My 7-year-old daughter has had no issues with that. I really like the safe hearing feature in the app, I was able to limit the dB to 85 and turn on the Be Aware settings that allows us to talk to her when she is watching a video, so we don’t have to yell at her. Now if she would just stop ignoring us that would be great, but I can’t blame the headphones for that. Overall, if you are looking for a budget prices full featured wireless headphones, then you cannot go wrong with these.
These noise-cancelling Bluetooth over-the-ear headphones are quite good, especially considering the sub-$100 price. The sound is very good, with rich bass and good trebles (mids can sound a little muddy if they're boosted using the EQ). There are 3 preset equalizer settings -- balanced (essentially flat), bass boost, and "JLab Signature" (which is a modified V shape on an equalizer). I thought both the bass boost and Signature settings sounded really good, but with the JLab app, you can also set your own EQ customization, which I appreciate. Soundstage is decent -- it doesn't sound like I'm in an expansive arena, but it's deep enough that I don't feel like I'm just listening to two speakers jammed up against my ears. The ANC is good as well, with a noticeable ... Soundstage is decent -- it doesn't sound like I'm in an expansive arena, but it's deep enough that I don't feel like I'm just listening to two speakers jammed up against my ears. The ANC is good as well, with a noticeable reduction in ambient noise as soon as the headphones are on. There's a Be Aware option that uses the mic to transmit ambient sound, in case the user needs to be aware of their surroundings -- I tested this, and the ambient sound comes through without being too intrusive. As with many Bluetooth headphones, there is a slight lag, and there's no gaming mode to reduce latency, so this may not be ideal for hardcore gamers.Pairing is quick and easy, and Multipoint Connection is supported (I tested it, and it works well). As mentioned above, the JLab app makes it easy to select various options (like ANC) or to customize the EQ or the button functions. The app isn't limited to phones -- I was able to install it on my Pixel Tablet as well.Build quality is impressive. It's all plastic, but it's matte and soft-touch, and everything feels solid. The earcups rotate freely for optimal fit, and can also rotate to store the headphones flat or folded up. The headband and earcup cushions are soft and comfortable, and the earcups themselves have adequate depth. The headband size adjustment has a nice mechanism as well -- clicky enough to keep the size that's selected, but smooth enough to return back to the storage setting without a hitch. Buttons are large and easy to find by touch, with reliable action. Charging is via USB-C.Battery life is really good. I haven't done any formal testing, but professional reviews have shown about 45 hours on a single charge with ANC on (it's supposed to push 70 hours with ANC off).Overall, these are pretty impressive headphones even when comparing to the big boys like Sony, but when you take into account the price, it's a slam-dunk, especially if you're on a budget!
Finding the right over the ear headphones isn’t an easy task. Are the cups too big? Are they too small? Do they have enough padding and keep out outside noise? These are the challenges I was faced with when looking for new noise cancelling headphones that would be right for casual listening and suitable for travel as well. After looking at many different headphones, I settled on the JLab - JBuds Lux ANC Headphones. Out of the box the JBuds stand out with hard buttons to control the volume, track up/down, noise cancelling modes and power on/off. It is so refreshing to have actual buttons instead of a touch pad to control the various functions. One very interesting feature of the JBuds is the ability to “share” between two sets of headphones with the same content. ... MoreFinding the right over the ear headphones isn’t an easy task. This allows two people to watch a movie on a mobile device while using two pairs of JBuds. This is great for traveling with kids in the backseat for long periods of time. Another nice feature is the folding earcups for packing in to a backpack or carry on suitcase. The included JLABS mobile app allows you to fine tune your sound with a custom EQ and three JLabs preset EQs. You can also customize the functionality of the hard buttons on the headphones themselves. Smart active noise canceling is also controlled by the app. This lets you vary the amount of outside sound to mute or switch it off all together to hear outside sounds. There is also a Music or Movie mode for different types of listening content. Safe hearing mode is also available on the app to protect the listener from excessively loud sounds.Setup is extremely simple! Download the app and press the Bluetooth button on the JBuds to find it on your mobile device and you’re off. The sound quality is very good. With the use of the app’s EQ you can tailor the sound to your liking and they do sound very good. At an attractive price point and features befitting headphones in higher priced arenas. The JBud’s compete above their weight class for sure and sound great doing it!
The JLab JBuds Lux ANC headphones have been a great product to pick up, I especially appreciate them for commuting. In the box are the headphones, USB-C to USB-C charging cable, and paperwork. Setup is easy, I recommend downloading the JLab app, for eq settings, ANC adjustment, and firmware updates, however not required to use. The build is solid, I had concerns the semi-rigid headband would not be comfortable for long wear, but so far I haven't had any issues. I wear them with the extensions all the way in, but there is about an inch of travel on both sides for adjustment. There is an elastic fabric cover at the top of the headband to improve comfort and the flex in the band allows for comfortable wear without being too tight or loose. For illustration, I can jog ... There is an elastic fabric cover at the top of the headband to improve comfort and the flex in the band allows for comfortable wear without being too tight or loose. For illustration, I can jog or do chores in this headset with no slipping or movement. The ear cups are plush foam, covered by a synthetic fabric that gives some grip without being too hot. I do think the ear cups will likely work for 75% of users, but may be cramped for those with large ears. When placed on a flat surface the ear cups will pivot to lay flat and used as a personal speaker. The buttons are physical press buttons, all on the right ear cuff. Starting from back to front is noise cancelling, +/- volume, power button which can also be customized via the app for multi purpose settings based on 1, 2, or 3 taps. I really like the physical buttons, no more accidental taps, having to figure out long / short presses, or any of the other pains that come with having to worry about accidentally pressing in the wrong spot.To connect, long press the power button, the light flashes blue/red and then can be connected via Bluetooth. The app allows for full customization with 10 eq sliders for custom sound, in addition to JLab Signature, Balanced, and Bass Boost presets. The app also allows for noise control, level of active noise control, as well as a pass through mode called "Be Aware". As mentioned earlier, the app also allows programming of the multi-purpose button in the form of 1, 2, or 3 taps and will do things such as play/pause, next/last, volume up/down, assistant, ANC, and change EQ.Overall all the functionality works well and offers more features than I had expected for the price point, and even more important, it's intuitive. The comfort level is a solid B+, even for 2+ hours of wear. What really surprised me with this headphone was the quality of sound and ANC. I could tell a difference in the ANC levels, and it didn't have the white noise feedback you get with some ANC, the JLab software keeps everything very natural sounding in both Be Aware mode as well as ANC. When I turn on full ANC and listen to music, it truly does reduce external noises. I tested with my teen talking to, and while I could hear something, 4' away I couldn't tell what he was saying, even with the volume at a mid level. The depth of the sound is another impressive offering, again for this price point, I didn't expect the crispness and depth from the 40mm drivers. In summary, for the price point, go pick these headphones up. They are portable, light weight, comfortable, with a great sound. I think JLab got the ANC and drivers figured out and are optimized in this build.

The JLab - JBuds Lux ANC Headphones work quite well. First, they are boxed well and simply. The earphones are cradled and the quick-start guide and charging cord and placed underneath that cradle. They are very simple yet oh, so, comfortable. I tend to just put-up with headphones as they tend to press on my glasses or don't completely cover my ears. These fully encased my ears so there was no pressure on the ear itself and the flexible padding on the earphone allowed for the arms of my glasses without pressing them into my ear or head. Usually I'm am always conscious that I have headphones on but I was able to forget them for a while and truly focus on the music. They are simplistic in they don't have tons of button but only have three, two small ones, the power and noise cancelling buttons, and one bigger one that controls the volume. However, each of these button can also do other things depending on how one presses them. For example, the noise cancelling button can make it so all outside noise is cancelled or by pressing differently, allows for background noise to filter in. These buttons allow for picking up phone calls and hanging up. I found it much easier to use then the type that have buttons on both headphones and having to remember which side has which buttons. There is also an app you can download that allows you to customize your listening experience. I personally don't care for a heavy bass sound on most songs so I appreciate the ability to modify that. I found the quality of the sound and also the microphone to be sufficient for my needs. When I was wearing them, no one was able to hear what I was listening to but I don't blast music so the volume was set at a medium level. They charged quickly and stay charged for a long time. I'm presently at about 30 hours of listening and still have not had to recharge from the initial charge. It charges with a USB-C outlet so you can plug in anywhere the USB-C outset is available. The cord is long enough to be able to use the headphones while charging on a computer -- as least it works that way with my laptop. I'm quite happy with these and definitely recommend them.
