I've been enjoying this scotch for several months now, I just wish I didn't have to drive 2 hours away to get it!! It is super smooth on the rock, and got a few people liking scotch with Johnnie Walker 18. Infact the bottle I bought on new years eve only lasted a little over 2 hours between myself and a new scotch drinker, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Many years ago, my brother Stephen gave me a bottle of Gold label Centenary Blend, and since then, I've been hooked! I was fortunate enough to be at the FOS Goodwood when They had the Johnnie Walker tower and the free tasting sessions, and I'll always be grateful to the young man doing the tasting experiences for suggesting you keep your Centenary blend in the Freezer, as it did pour like honey! Fast forward a couple of decades and the 18 year old is still a Gift from God! May God gift you the Freedom to celebrate this wonderful gift!

I bought a bottle of the famous grouse and used this Johnnie Walker as kind of a grande finale..Well as a new scotch drinker I must say, The Famous Grouse is definitely a new taste to me.It’s not over the top, but you definitely taste that unique blend.When we popped the Johnnie Walker I was expecting the clouds to open up and maybe some light to shine or something, lol.The drink is definitely smooth, but the aftertaste was very unpleasant to me and my wife.I likened it to the smell of hospital bandages or something. It wasn't inviting at all!I’ll probably be going to a single malt scotch next, because my findings for the blends haven’t been too great. Even after trying a $90 bottle of world famous Johnnie Walker.

I shouldn't write this review, because being the bottle rarely available, I am feeling greedy and selfish, but I have to honor it, because it deserves. I normally enjoy talisker 10, caol ila 12, and double black as a form of blend for everyday. I appreciate the difference from a blend and a single malt, but I have to say, this is a "boungus" whisky (yes WHISKY not SCOTCH, it is still a whisky my friends, not whiskey!) the grain is minimal, the creaminess is over the top, on the nose and palate: vanilla, fudge, cocoa, dark fruits, smoke, white pepper, nuts, it IS delicious. Yes it is a blend, bottled at 40%, a "conversational" whisky, not a pungent/punchy one that wakes you up, but lightly strokes your cheeks and your throat, in a sweet dream in heaven. This is a nice step up from the Green Label 15. This is a more subtle smoke, smooth finish & more mouth hit with a fruity taste. Definitely worth the price increase. I highly recommend to people who are not high on smoke. This is delicious.
Johnnie Walker 18 year old (Platinum) is less than half the price of the "Blue". Blue is still the best but the 18 year old is very smooth with a slightly sweeter taste. If you want to impress your guests, try the 18. But if your guests are "single malt snobs" - disregard. I personally think single malts are too oakey and too heavy. And that's why I prefer JW blended scotch.
Love this whisky! I love a smooth whisky and this one has all the right notes and it has that gentle fruit apple smell that I can pick up on. If you can’t splurge for the Blue Label, go with this one. Everything else is second class.
Yeah I’m definitely taking this over everything in the standard range. Was also lucky enough to try the Brora Blue which was excellent. Anyways, Candied apples on the nose, very floral like Glenmo 18 actually. A tiny hint of smoke and cinnamon clove in the distance with some Sherry and oak (mostly Sherry). The palate is a surprisingly hefty swish without much oiliness from the grain. The finish is spectacular: cooked chocolate caramel biscuits. What a dram.
Excellent flavor, super smooth with smokiness on the finish. One of the best blended I’ve had. Will definitely buy again. A must have in the cabinet.
I love it. Decades ago I cut my teeth on 12 yr Glenlivet. Since then that along with it's 18 year older brother, Glenfiddich 12 and 18 and Glenrothes 18 have been in rotation in my liquor cabinet. Yeah, I'm kind of a speyside guy. This JW 18 caught my eye at the store during Christmas season and my loving wife suggested I should get it as a stocking stuffer. Love that woman. Anyway, due to the relatively low price on the bottle and the fact that it's a blend, I expected it to be fine, but nothing "special". Boy was I wrong. It is absolutely fantastic. It's nose is sweet where I get hints of green apple and citrus. It has a complex body with light (for JW) smoke and a medium length finish. I had to call my buddy and compare his JW blue to my 18.
