Fantastic product super fast post and honestly one of the best hair dyes on the market. I dye my hair often and it's always bright. Never a problem with quality or colour match from tube to tube as with other brands. Lasts a long time and is vibrant and fresh way longer then many other brands. I'm 40 now and been vibrant for several years. This is the best so far I have tried and I have a long list. This is by far the nicest bright dark purple I have ever used. I love to do a root smudge with this and go into the hot pink Joico aswell. Everyone compliments it and I love it the most of all my many many colour combos!

MAGENTA: It will come out a bit more on the red side initially, but after a wash or two it starts to die down to a deep hot pink. It is a truly beautiful color, but I will say it transfers A LOT. Be prepared to have it get on sheets, light colored shirts, even the walls if your bed is close to them. That also starts to calm down after a few washes is just a reality for a lot of unnatural colors. For me, the dye stuck to my hair for months I mean it. I had a good at least 4 month run washing my hair about once a week before I really felt like I needed to dye it again. I really feel like it’s a solid representation of Indigo — not too purple or blue in hue. It has much less transfer than the magenta which I loved it stuck very well. The two indigo photos attached are from a month apart so it definitely didn’t have as much staying power as the link but it did fade beautifully.

Absolutely love this color

I get compliments on my color all day everyday. Even when the color starts to fade by week 2 its still a very pretty purple. This is the first brand to stay purple for a whole month, I have tried many brands even at beauty supply stores and I would be bright baby pink by week 2. I will be using Joico brand from now on! Also it doesnt stain everything i come into contact with like some other brands do

Absolutely terrible

After falling in love with the brand and longevity of passion berry (8 months!). Even after I lightened my hair to a level 8and used an entire tube on my bangs and front ( a bit of the star berry dripped on the side so that’s the only “ color”- I left in on 2 hours with Saran Wrap cover, I rinsed with just water and it ALL came out, left with bleached hair. It was a darker color of bleach ( I waited 2 days between bleach and dyeing) and the front held NOTHING that resembled lavender or ANY color whatsoever. Terrible

BEST DYE I HAVE EVER USED!!!

I have dyed my hair every color you can think of, using every brand to find the best. I first got Star berry at the salon, with two other Joico intense purple shades. The purple shades lasted 2 washes, but the star berry lasted vibrant and lovely for 6 months, and faded slightly over the next 2. That’s when I decided to dye my hair at home, using True lav( awful, see my review) and the great Jerome Russel purple but overwhelming Starberry. I lightened my hair much more and was OVERJOYED with the results-except for the true lav-which I waited and then colored over with starberry, and it is so gorgeous!! This dye is AMAZING, without doubt the best dye I’ve ever had in my hair -out of DOZENS of shades and brands!

Extremely disappointing

After an amazing experience with passion berry love aura at the salon I lightened my hair at home- the regular intensity lasted one shampoo only(!!) so I thought maybe it was love aura that was the magic- so I got True lav and bleached my bangs and “face framing” hair all the way to level 8, not white but extremely light blond. Using the entire bottle of lavender, after leaving it on 2 hours I rinsed it out and there was Nothing. Not even a hint of color, and before the rinse it looked like a medium grape color. Plain water washed it out as if it was nothing. And I lightened it extremely well.

Incredible, intense blue colour - apply with caution!

This stuff produces terrific hues! I've been using it for almost a year now (on bleached hair as I don't quite have enough natural grey yet, and am still kind of a dull brown). It smells wonderuful, and my hair feels really good.If you try it at home, I advise you to create as many barriers between it and your skin as you can -unless you want to be blue for a few days to a week! I wash it out wearing two pairs of gloves and still manage to end up with smurf palms. (I'm not a professional, I do my own colour.)But whatever, it's worth it! This one also fades considerably less (and less quickly) than the other blue shades in the same product line.

Unexpected but FUN results!

We love Joico Color Intensity for fun temporary hair colors. It is the only brand we use anymore. Lilac was fun but turned out different than expected. We applied it to two previously bleached chunky stripes framing the face. The pinkish lilac at the roots transitioned to a more blue shade and then almost green at the ends. More icy than expected and a very “unicorn hair” effect. Not at all what we were going for, but my daughter loved it and has gotten so many compliments. It looks very intentional and professional even though accidental. Haha. It does fade rather quickly. We have had to reapply after every couple of washes to keep it bright.
