Retro colorways on Air Jordans, like the Air Jordan 3 "Bright Crimson" have drifted further and further from the originals over the years. Back in 1988, when Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Jordan 3 for Michael Jordan to wear on court, there were just 4 colors for MJ to choose from. Tinker hasn’t touched (most) retro product in years according to many of his interviews, and of course what was once an on court performance basketball shoe, has become more of a footwear icon in men’s fashion. The 2013 release of the "Bright Crimson" Air Jordan 3 is one of the few that had no ties whatsoever to MJ’s time with the Chicago Bulls, or any of the related advertising campaigns and commercials that helped make the AJ3 legendary. The color combination of black and Infrared-like but not quite "Bright Crimson" red was combined with a purple outsole and Elephant Print in a matching back on purple finish and not surprisingly most of the purists that collect Air Jordans dismissed the color immediately. Though, after a few weeks or so on retail shelves around All Star Weekend in 2013, the Air Jordan 3 "Bright Crimson" had disappeared despite the $160 price tag that also received plenty of complaints.

These are made well with good toe shape and materials. Still determining if it is 3m but Mudguard and tounges are slightly reflective.
