Go 4 It When Michael Jordan sank “the shot" in the 1989 playoffs, the magical moment was instantly immortalized in sports history. The Air Jordan 4 basketball shoe he wore came along for the ride, making its mark not only in athletic footwear, but also in the world of fashion. Today, the Jordan Retro 4 pays homage to an icon as a classic street sneaker and favorite in celebrity circles. The Makings of a Winner The Jordan Retro 4 features a 3/4 (mid-cut) silhouette, affording more support than a low-cut and more freedom of movement than a high-top. The famous lacelock wing adds a distinct visual and enables a secure fit, while Air-Sole cushioning units in the heel and forefoot help keep the glide in your stride. Your brand loyalty is expressed with Jumpman icons above the heel, on the outsole, and the script “Flight"on the tongue. Jordan Retro 4 Features: Premium leather-and-synthetic upper features mesh panels for ventilation. Thermoplastic lacelocks ensure secure lockdown. Heel pull tab for easy on and off. Midsole includes Air-Sole cushioning units in heel and forefoot. Sculpted foot frame adds comfort and stability. Solid-rubber outsole features herringbone traction pattern.

The right shoe back heel was messed up. Basically the suede stitching that surrounds the Jumpman logo was damaged, and isn't flushed to the heel. Instead it rises thus fraying at the seams. I wished the QC rep at StockX had caught that and flagged it. For this reason, the quality rating on this specific pair is low. And that in turn affects the value for money rating. Sadly with StockX, there is no quick resend and replace policy like with other competitors. I either have to cancel the order before it ships, or show that it's damaged upon arrival. Then return it to get a refund. Meanwhile, the price for the item goes up, and by the time I re-purchase the same item, it's at a much higher price. All that to say, I will keep the pair that I have and somehow find a repair store to mend my sneakers in the hopes I can wear them. These were not cheap by any means, and now I may need to spend even more money to repair them. This all makes me ponder on if reps are the way to go. The quality is comparable, yet the price is far less than the authentic pair. And at the end of the day (when it comes to certain sneaker models) they're all made in the same factory. Not to mention, reps/UAs are becoming socially acceptable. Regardless, for the time being, I will rock authentic sneakers, but I will definitely be buying less given how the QC process at StockX has diminished :(

I ordered the Alternate Motorsport and they came in and I was highly disappointing. The paint on the outside of the mid-sole looked like it had been poorly repainted, it looks horrible. The ankle support, wing, didn't line up with the shoe lace holes. On top of that there were glue stains in the front of the shoe/toe box area. Excessive rubber near air bag.

I bought these shoes because of how good they looked online, but do NOT be fooled. The suede is very cheap. The gold is also extremely cheap plastic. The leather on the back is decent I guess. I just do not understand how Jordan brand can sky rocket these prices, but comprise with quality. I wish people would realize this so that Jordan could go back to its old ways. Not to mention the fact that there is 20 pairs of Js releasing every day it feels like. Really just seems like they are just trying to maximize profits and forgetting what the whole brand was built on. But these little review wont change a thing....

The color gets scratched off like a paint. This was only worn twice and now already noticed the scratch underneath the lace area in both shoes. Must be the lace scratching off against the leather. Now Im afraid the more I wear it the more the color will come off and to top it all, even under normal use, any contact on the leather area will be scratched off and the base brown color underneath coming out (as seen in the photo) and the scratch will be permanent. Not the quality I'm expecting from Nike.
I'm not a typical Jordan wearer but lately I have been loving some of the releases. These 4's are extremely well done and the fit and finish feels great. True to size fit and plenty of cushioning around the ankle. This is mainly a street-wear shoe obviously but I feel like the durability should be solid over time. Make sure you take care of the materials though as these won't be as durable as some standard leather Nike. The sole feels well connected and the overall appearance of the shoe is staying great so far.Definitely a shoe that can be dressed up or down.
Recently got the Air Jordan 4 "Motorsport" retro. Love the colorway, the look and the comfort of the shoe. The quality of the shoe and materials used are disappointing to say the least. The box they came in was crushed on one entire side and ripped through the lid. The shoes smelled of glue and one toe box was creased as if previously worn. These are supposed to be premier sneakers, time to step up the quality and stop focusing on quantity of retro's comstantly put out.
These shoes were one of my first pair of Jordans. I'm pretty disappointed at Nike for not having their shoes pass a quality test. Out of the box, the shoe smelled pretty bad, but after I wore it for a while the stench went away. About a week after wearing it, the paint on the Jumpman in the back is falling off and on one of the waffles, the gold paint is chipping. I really hope that the next pair of Jordans that I get will be better.
The 4's are one of my favorite sneakers of all time. However, this shoe had a crease and a look of worn right out the box. I wore the shoe twice and it looked as if I'd worn them all month. Now that I've had them over a month, they look a year old. I wish I had sent them back right away! I believe this was the wrong material for this design!
