We absolutely love our dishrack. It is great that it doesn't take much space on the counter until you need it to, and then you expand. And for such a prominent item in your kitchen, it's important that it looks good. Honestly, I think that every dishrack should model off of this one.The one issue that we have is that, when expanded, it leaks through the connection point where the spout clips into the underneath and leaves water dripping down the cupboards from the counter. So, though it is amazing for its flexibility and beauty, it misses the mark on its core function - draining the water into the sink.

I do not like clutter on my kitchen counter and for years have used those drying mats, however, they are in the wash more than on the sink counter and I was getting fed up with them.I then saw the Joseph Joseph duo expanding dish rack. I thought that would be perfect as I could condense it down to it's smallest size when not in use and put it under the sink in a cupboard. However, I did not expect to love this dish rack as much as I do and this is sitting on my counter top in full view every day. It is stylish and well made. It drains well, but does leave a little bit of standing water but I just tip it slightly and it runs away. I make sure I wipe the stainless steel after every use as I don't want to have any water marks on it.I would attach a couple of photos but I can't find anywhere to do that. I can see people have added them but I don't know how.

I've had this rack for about a month now, and I use it every day.Starting out: 5 stars.Things I like: The expansion works well. The movable silverware rack. The drain (and therefore rack) can go either direction. It looks nice, I guess.Things I don't like:Why does the silverware rack have no vents? A knife takes 24 hours to dry in that tiny slot. They need to add scalloped vents or something. -1 star. The raised ridges, which they advertise, say it keeps glasses etc from sitting in water. Great in theory...EXCEPT the ridges have flat tops, so water stays on the top and it doesn't dry. My old $10 dishrack had ridges that were narrow enough to not have this issue. Absolute noob design failure. -1 star. The metal rack in the main area has no lift, so anything round ... MoreI've had this rack for about a month now, and I use it every day.Starting out: 5 stars.Things I like: The expansion works well. Absolute noob design failure. -1 star. The metal rack in the main area has no lift, so anything round can sit in the water it drains. Needs to be up a couple of cm at least. Same with the ridges for the cutting board area. Water just sits there and it doesn't dry. -1 star.Back to the ridges in the lower tray, there's not enough drop so water sits between them for ages. Needs to be steeper. This is a common theme for this rack, because it's true of the upper tray as well. Water doesn't make it to the drain. -1 star.Speaking of the drain, this is also a failure. Water literally sits in the middle of the 3 openings and won't go into the chute. How is this dishrack so bad at its job? -1 star.Because of all of these issues, I have to hold the dish directly over the rack until the water stops running off, then I can put it in the rack. This is incredibly annoying, and frankly, a joke. It's a dishrack; it has one job and can't even do it. -1 star for the annoyance every time I use it.Final score: -1 out of 5 stars.I want to love this. It's got so many great design ideas, they're just implemented incredibly poorly. All of them. How can one item be so bad at everything? Back to the drawing board, Joe, maybe version 2 will be better. Maybe take a look at some of my suggestions and actually try using this before selling it.

This design is a great idea that doesn't actually work. I was very excited to get this expandable dish drying system. I live alone & have a dishwasher, so I don't often need a large rack, but sometimes I do. I mainly use it for pots & pans, and as a place to put a collander while washing produce. I've had it a few weeks now. While it looks great closed up on the counter, the lower tray isn't sloped enough and a lot of water that drains through the upper tray remains puddled on the lower tray. While putting away a few items this morning (which I washed last night), I noticed the edge of a wooden cutting board was drenched where it had been sitting in a puddle all night. I have to take the unit apart every few days to clean & dry as keeping it closed traps water on ... MoreThis design is a great idea that doesn't actually work. I have to take the unit apart every few days to clean & dry as keeping it closed traps water on the covered lower tray & is a recipe for mold/mildew. I've already wiped off a few suspicious dark spots, & am very glad I didn't buy the dark gray option, as I wouldn't have known they were there. I really didn't need another kitchen chore!
I purchased this dish rack believing that rust would not be an issue. The water here is quite harsh,,however I do have a water filter. Within one and a half years, the first one rusted but I was lucky enough to be sent a replacementt because of the guarantee. The 2 stars is for the customer service, which was impeccable; not the product. The second one has also rusted within the two years. Stainless steel should not rust. I will try the new dish rack that is available for 99,99, which has less steel and more plastic. As far as the design goes, it is beautiful.
One of its features is the spout that can be placed in 3 configurations. After having connected it, I accidentally dropped it (entirely my fault). Not only did the spout come off (which is fine), but the circular drain at the base cracked. Honestly, for this price, I thought it would be better quality. Hopefully, in a future version, it might be a better idea to improve where the drain connects to the spout -- maybe make it metallic. Also, when placed on a flat surface, the water does not exactly slide down the spout as much as one might think. A lot of the water just sits on the tray, which isn't a big issue. Maybe I need to place it on a small ramp...Other than these two issues, it does what it's supposed to do. Love, love, love. I only downgraded on “value” metric because it’s expensive. Keep an eye on the price because it changes and check out different colors that might work in your kitchen, as that might change the price, too. I got the stone and it blends beautifully in a predominately white countertop. The flexibility to expand for pots/pans/mugs/other items, is brilliant because once things dry you can reduce the size and it doesn’t take much space. Superior to a similar Kitchenaide stainless that looked like a giant beast compared to this sleek, flexible style
I really wanted to love this - but1 - spout is fixed so you cant angle this in anyway2 - the back is too low to drain properly when extended (we put a mug under this to lift it up! - £90 for a drainer and you have to use a mug to let the water drain out!!)3 - when closed water collects in the first section & pools4 - the metal arm at the back - dont use this to left the drainer to extend it - it just pops outI could have a much better version of this designed - there are so many wee bits that are just a bit rubbish and with no thought to them.I always thought Joseph & joseph stuff was designed with "use " & function in mind. But I don't think anyone at joseph & joseph have actually used this for draining dishes!I love the colour , I love the knife section in ... MoreI really wanted to love this - but1 - spout is fixed so you cant angle this in anyway2 - the back is too low to drain properly when extended (we put a mug under this to lift it up! But I don't think anyone at joseph & joseph have actually used this for draining dishes!I love the colour , I love the knife section in the utensil section. But gutted at how it doenst function that well and it would have taken so little to fix this1 allow the spout to move position2 have leg extenders or lifters to allow the draining board to actually drain3 - fix the metal bar so you can use it to extend the dish drainerSo if you really love this - buy itBut heads up its just not as good as you think it will be...
I've been using this dish drainer for a week now and really like it - it looks great and does what it's designed to do. Definitely an upgrade from the cheap one I was using before, that would need regular draining itself, as it didn't have a built in spout. The wide spacing of the metal uprights means you need to lay chopping boards on their long side or they'll slip off. Also, unless you are a patient dish stacker and put your dishes exactly on the rack with no part hanging off the side (eg a pot handle), a little water will drip off the item onto the bench. Seems obvious, but I didn't think about this at the time of purchase. Overall a well-made item, love that the funnel can be placed in 3 different spots.
A fabulously thought through kitchen essential. Love the fact it expands with a flat safe surface for glasses and cups.the drain underneath can be placed either side of the work surface. The cutlery holder with separate knife slot is easy to remove and clean and the rail is ideal for your wet dishcloth or to lean a chopping board against. The whole thing is stylish and feel robust. I ordered stone which I assumed would be a buff/ cream colour but instead it’s a light grey. I was initially disappointed but there’s enough chrome to disguise the colour !Overall a fantastic addition to the kitchen - stylish and practical.
