This started as a mission to find a smaller ironing board to hang inside a cupboard door -and now I'm singing the praises of a board that retails at 4 times what I'd set out to spend! Great reviews, the perfect size and a substantial reduction swung it for me - but there are so many unexpected benefits. I spend a lot of time ironing - our clothes, my dressmaking and craft projects. The adjustment on this board gives me a much more comfortable height. The surface really seems to get the most out of my steam generator iron, particularly on linen or on lower settings - maybe because it seems to trap and use the moisture, rather than just letting it drip through onto the floor? The board is very well designed, no issue with opening & closing up. No build up of moisture from my steam iron.Despite double checking the size of the board when closed on several web sites including J Lewis it did not fit into my new cupboard as the width of the legs given when closed is wrong. It was too wide as it actually measures 42cm wide.Would recommend with reservations on space saving. Have deducted one star.

We needed to replace our rickety elderly ironing board. I searched around and compared several before deciding on this one (and yes, I did read the various reviews). It was considerably more expensive than I had anticipated spending but when it arrived I decided it was worth the money. It is strong, sturdy and doesnt wobble. We have a large heavy steam generator iron but we decided in view of it's large footprint and weight that we would sit it on a low stool at the end of the ironing board, which works fine. The hot iron can be placed flat on the iron pad on the board directly without harm when manoeuvring garments etc, around. Over the last 45 years or so I expect we have previously had 4 or 5 cheap ironing boards and every year or so needed to replace the cover. I suspect that this is the last ironing board I will buy.

The quality and fabric used for the cover means the board remains absolutely dry, as does the cover. I found my previous board was always dripping wet and took days to dry out but this is deigned to cope with quantities of steam and shows no ill effects. In all other aspects it also out performs my previous boards. It has a continuous working service therefore there are no annoying gaps for the cord to get stuck in. Was dubious spending this much on an ironing board, however now it's arrived it's not going back.Worth every penny - arrived ready to use apart from removing plastic and tiny bit of cardboard - no excessive packagingReally easy to put up and down - really sturdy and well balanced with barely any movement when being used.Love the cover which stops garments just sliding off and the silicone iron rest is such a great size so as not to lose work space.Easy to fold up with one hand and a foot as the instructions show.Takes up far less space and stores neatly awaySuperb and well worth the investment.If you can afford to pay that bit more then this is well worth it
At long last I found a well made, stable, non-dripping ironing board. I've had it for a few months now and it's as new despite nearly daily use. The cover that comes with the board is high quality so no imprints are left on ironed items. After years of having to throw away rapidly deteriorating rusting ironing boards I'm looking forward to many years use with this one. Expensive but worth it. It's certainly an investment item.
Love this ironing board. Got a deal on it when on offer, as it’s expensive I was dubious spending this amount of money. I have a steam generator iron and my old ironing board would get wet and drip water after ironing half a load … this stays dry. It’s easy to put up and down once you learn the knack. Compact. As others have said not particularly lightweight but not an issue. Great for steam generator irons that sit on their stand. Note this has no bar to hang any hangers but again not an issue. Just so pleased it stays dry and the clothes don’t get damp patches on them. And it seems to help get creases out better as the iron steam is more effective.

Downside is, you can’t really lower the ironing board to use when sitting down. It can only be used standing up. With a bad back myself, I have to sit down to iron and my previous ironing board was perfect for this - adjustable to all heights. With this ironing board I cannot adjust to sitting down on the bed height. It’s my fault I should have read the descriptions thoroughly. The material is good and I love the rubber end bit. I bought this after my two previous, cheaper, ironing boards broke. I have a powerful steam iron and this ironing board is excellent for it - no more pools of water on the floor as with my previous boards.It is slightly fiddly at the beginning to set it up as it opens in a different way but you soon get used to it.It is extremely well made and very sturdy.Well worth the extra money. I highly recommend it.
