The E6 is a great coffee machine, with extremely simple bean to cup operation. The bean hopper is easy to access and gives high visibility of the bean quantity remaining. The machine also takes ground coffee, which is a great feature. The quality of the coffee is excellent and consistent. I don't use it to make milky coffees, but there's plenty of options and an attachment to create foams and froth as needed. The machine learns your coffee preferences and then presents those to you first on the list of options, which is a nice touch. Filling with water and cleaning out drip tray / grounds tray is easy and quick.Things I wish I knew before purchasing...The machine has a water filter in-built. It's roughly £15 to replaceTo make a long coffee (i.e. espresso + hot water), there's a manual switch that needs to be turned to change from coffee to hot water. Not a massive thing, but means that making a coffee requires more attention than I had planned.Heat up / switch off cycles are longer than I expected - the machine cleans itself and clears out pipes / grinder / etc every time. If you make milky coffees you'll need to clean out the pipes fairly often.Overall, I would recommend the machine. Easy to use, quiet (for a coffee machine that grinds beans!), and makes a great cup of coffee.

Pros: easy to install and operate, makes good coffee, several everyday coffee options with good customization. I find the screen interface very useful, for example you can increase the volume or make it stronger while making the drink, and then save that selection for next time. The fact that it is not a touch screen don't bother me at all.Jura utensils for milk are very easy to use and clean, all dish washable.Cons/ items to consider: this titanium color looks very nice and is WS-exclusive, but is somewhat low key (cheaper looking) than the shiny piano black of some other Jura machines. I understand that E8 doesn't have this issue, but it is also 1000$ more expensive, while sharing most of the functionality, so it is your choice.I find the water tank design not ideal for quick filling in, you need to fit it well, but it is a minor flaw. The trays etc are all plastic, probably will scratch with time. The new grinder is very quiet and effective. It does quite a bit of self cleaning, fills a full cup in 2-3 start-stop cycles.I never found a reason to buy the online connection plug, but it can be connected to wifi/the app.

The JUra makes a good cup of coffee, but the design of the machine could be significantly improved. Start with the coffee bean chute, it is not steep enough so coffee beans don't fall by gravity into the brewing mechanism so that sometimes the bean container will be almost full, but the machine will not have beans brewing so it stops and sends a message "Refill Beans". You then open the container and push some beans into the chute. The selection buttons are not tactile. They are totally smooth and level with the face of the coffee maker. The E6 needs some engineering to make it a modern product.

Great Upgrade from Our Old S9
1 September 2024

Nice improvement sover our old S9.Good news: easy to make specialty drinks, no muss no fuss. Makes a true Americano. Slightly more compact size (bit longer but bit narrower). Sleek look, Digital screen easy to read. Bean fill good size. MAKES GREAT COFFEE!Fussy points (no deal breakers): Water container is so dark that I can't see the level--black front could be clear without affecting looks. or how about a clear streak down the side instead of all smoke. Black buttons on a black background are impossible to see (I put on stickers to make them stand out.) Switch on back corner is hard to reach since I have the machine elevated into a window shelf. (Now that's really nick picking.)Summary: Very happy with the new machine; hope it lasts longer than the eight years ... MoreNice improvement sover our old S9.Good news: easy to make specialty drinks, no muss no fuss. Great addition to the Jura E line

I just bought it so can't opine on reliability. First impressions: it comes fully assembled with just several obvious steps to do to put it to work. They give you a tester strip to test the water hardness. The instruction manual is clear and simple, so are the screens, just follow the instructions. We used to have an Impressa C5 (that is still running after many years!). This machine presents a nice upgrade with a selection screen, fully automatic milk frothing function and other features. It has an ample container for coffee beans, a deeper side tank for water, and a slot for using ground coffee (finally, they fixed this obvious deficiency of D6 model). It is about the same size, maybe just a bit wider than the previous models. It makes a very good cappuccino/latte and has various other drinks available. It makes little noise, less than the previous model, I think it is because of the upgraded coffee grinder. I like that virtually all items are adjustable: it offers options on the quantity of coffee, milk, and water in any drink and offers to save your preference. There are coffee beans and temperature options. It can be connected to Wifi and the Jura app has more customization available. For that, you need to purchase a small device (not included), it is not expensive. Made in Portugal. As the tank for water got deeper, they use the same size water filter but with an adaptor (included, don't discard that strange looking thing!). The set does not come with a vessel for milk but it does include the tube for it, so you can initially use any cup for milk. The Dark Inox color option is a W-S exclusive. I think it looks really good and modern in it, but the classic piano black and silver are good options too. As it is a matte finish, it has a more casual and low key look, in my opinion. Overall, I think E6 presents a major upgrade vs D6 that they still sell. As it shares many parts with a much more expensive E8 model, I believe it is also a good value.

Jura E6 Autimatic Coffee Machine
9 July 2024

We previously had a Jura Ena Micro 90 and it was fantastic and so simple to use. Set options,And then simply press one button for a cappuccino. This new Jura E6 has an irritating switch that must be turned in order to get hot water, hot milk or to run cleaning/rinse cycles. The old one just activated the hot water or milk automatically. Just seems like a step backwards. Also difficult to create multiple milky coffees for two different people’s preferences. Have come up with a work around for my husband’s stronger coffees, but again that involves multiple steps. That being said, we love the large sized water container, bean holder and great SS holder. We also really like the overflow tray which is much less likely to spill when being removed for cleaning. Lasted two years, very pricey to fix

I treated my husband to this a couple years ago because he had tried it in the Sur le Table store and was impressed with the coffee. He made a few cups a day but did not like the milk frother and ended up using a different frother. After about a year it broke, and he sent it back for warranty work. A year later it broke again; this time the grinder was bad. The service was no longer covered under warranty and cost several hundred dollars, plus a new grinder which was about $300. Keep in mind it was lightly used, filled with high quality beans and was cleaned regularly according to the manufacturer's recommendations. He got about 22 months out of it for my hard-earned $1800. At that point all indications were that it would continue to need several hundred dollars ... MoreI treated my husband to this a couple years ago because he had tried it in the Sur le Table store and was impressed with the coffee. At that point all indications were that it would continue to need several hundred dollars worth of service every year or two, and he decided to throw in the towel and sell it to a refurbisher, who gave him about $250. I did not even like the coffee it made; I thought it was thick and bitter. We had high hopes for a nice coffee machine but this was a great disappointment. Some people do like the coffee but be prepared to spend many hundreds of dollars on the cleaning tablets and repairs.

The coffee is great - I use Sam's Club Barista Bravo French Roast beans (and have for decades) which are delicious and the E6 makes an excellent crema coffee with them. This is my third Capressa/Jura in 20+ years - I have been very loyal and satisfied - but I have to say there are some disappointments with the E6. Both of my old machines had to be replaced after a number of years of usage, but I make a lot of coffee. My last one was a C5.The E6 bean receptacle is bigger but we have to stir the beans about every other time we use it to force them to fall into the grinder in order to get the full strength of the beans. (Yes, the beans may be a bit oily...but this is an expensive espresso maker and espresso beans are sometimes oily!...so I would think it could accommodate. Our old machine was better in this way.)I am also not happy with the lattes (which are not technically option--only cappuccino or frothed milk). The bean strength has to be adjusted with each cup (at the beginning and if you miss the cue, you're out of luck) and I find the taste rather thin and not hot enough. I'm still experimenting--it would be very helpful if the manual had a section with tips for making excellent cups of each of the espresso based options.I also find that it's much more of a pain to have to clean the whole unit daily when using milk...and with another product that we are required to buy and have on hand. The old models only required washing the steam spout with dish soap. So, the crema is very good...but the ease of usage is more difficult than with previous models. For the first time, I am hesitant to recommend this machine to friends (and I have helped a number buy Jura machines in the past).

Vey good quality. I recommend something in this price range. People I know that went with simple models from “big box” stores end up not really using them as much based on how difficult they are to use/clean. Once you get this set up, it is really just a push of a button. I do recommend keeping a clean (nice looking) cup under the nozzle as it spurts out hot water when it is warming up and before it shuts down. That’s awsesome for cleanliness but it just means that you have quite a bit of water sitting in the drip tray. Water drips through the grinds/bin so it is not possible to keep it dry but it’s just too much water sitting in there in my opinion. The cup looks good and keeps it cleaner.
