When we received this toy my kids were very excited to open it. Nice box, very easy to get out of the package. There are small, intricate details making this look quite realistic. I would say it’s more of a collectors item though my son also enjoyed imaginary play with it as well. The body and tail both bend realistically with several points of turning so that small adjustments to the position can be made. Same with the mouth and tongue. It’s not just open and closed. You can open at different levels and move the tongue to different levels too. My son has had a great time with this so far!

Easy to open out of the package you just need to very simple attach the tail and he is ready to create chaos in which ever way you choose.Highly articulated...tail, body, legs, arms, mouth and even the tongue! Not to mention just flat out gorgeous to look at. Very sturdy but too heavy for kids. And did I mention he is big! I've only had one Hammond Collection dinosaur (it's a Velocitaptor) that didn't have a factory defect/damage/break. Broken hips are extremely common (even snapped off in the package) so, ive given up on the line after several exchanges. My Tyrannosaurus Rex had a broken hip. It's a shame because, the Tyrannosaurus Rex looks amazing other than the neck "collar" (the rubbery PVC one) being very pale/faded and not matching the colour saturation of the rest of the item. The inner mouth side membranes "expanding" is neat but, they just fold/collapse/bunch up and touch the tounge unless the mouth is open all the way and the folding/collapsing/bunching looks terrible and you don't want rubbery PVC making contact with itself nor anything else. I received this in exchange for my honest review, actually, my son's honest review. Jurassic World's toys are the best! My 7 year old son is a big fan of dinosaurs and he just can't get enough of them. He probably has enough of these to fill up an entire room. Mattel does a very good job at making these. My son is extremely rough with them and they still hold up. Can't even tell everything he puts them through. As long as the quality of these doesn't change I will continue to purchase them.
I bought two of these and after taking one out and handling it for a day or two, I returned them both. Although they have more articulated joints, they are far more 'rickety' than the other TRex figures and may droop down or fall down from a standing position easily. The eyeballs are very hard to see and appear 'fogged over' so the eyes don't look normal and the figure's eyes you'll find DO NOT LOOK LIKE THOSE IN THE PICTURES listed when you buy it. Inside the mouth the flaps along the cheeks are flimsy rubber which I'll bet will become brittle with age. Although there is much more detail to the paint job, the color brown the figure comes as is not very attractive. This toy is absolutely collector quality! I purchased one for toy photography and was able to get some really dynamic poses out of her. I used her so often, I ended up needing a second for display only. The paint is stunning and the glass eye really makes this figure stand out, and apart from any other T Rex ever made in my opinion. She has a ton of presence and she really does look like she is watching you. I have started to wear her joints out a bit with the frequent posing, but overall, I don’t regret the purchase in the slightest. She can certainly take the stress and abuse and still hang in there aesthetically and pose wise.

My son, who is 13, is a BIG Jurassic Park fan! He likes how sturdy this model is. He also likes how it is very posable. He added it to his Jurassic Park diorama immediately. The tongue and gums are sort of soft and pretty realistic looking too! The assembly was very easy. You just have to attach the tail to the dinosaur. This is way better than a basic “toy” level of a model. It is much more for older movie fans or even adults.
