I was very excited about this game when I saw the ads and I usually don’t buy games. I wish I could say that this game give me everything I hoped and wanted for but it did not. In order to really enjoy the full experience you need to have Internet connection and if not then you still need internet connection so you can download the songs so you can play them offline. Then they kind of get you to join just dance + for a free 7day trial or whatever and it’s just sad because games aren’t what they use to be anymore. I’m contemplating buying just dance 2022 because I heard i can avoid those problems but at this point I’m not in the mood to do all that. Maybe you’ll like it though.

My 11 year old daughter is a Just Dance fan. The first one we purchased was 2019 because that's the year she got her switch. Then we skipped 2020 and then got 2021 and 2022. I was not exactly thrilled to buy this game as the makers decided that they would not be making the game available on the Xbox one. And of course I play the game on the Kinect. So like I said was not thrilled to be playing it on the switch. It works fine enough. In the beginning there was quite a few glitches. Still hard to get used to using a joy con. If you are already used to the switch with other just dance games then I'm sure it's no issue. Others like me new to it.I would say try it and see if it's something you would like. But honestly if I had a choice playing just dance is better with the Kinect on the Xbox one.

I was very excited about this game when I saw the ads and I usually don’t buy games. I wish I could say that this game give me everything I hoped and wanted for but it did not. Just Dance is a fun and active game whether playing casually or with a group of people. The game has only gotten better since 2022 from the maps to the choreos to the UI. The characters now feel like they have personalities you can attach to and they have many new expressive customizations like emotes and victory animations.This game is amazing for parties especially with kids but I will say if you have a group of people who aren't willing to be very involved or active, gameplay will be shortlived.Theres a new subscription called just dance featuring more songs than the base 40. In 2022 and previous versions they had a subscription called unlimited, however its NOT the same. If you bought unlimited it won't transfer and vice versa. Id hold off til they lower the price to match the content or release new content.Despite the new subscription service, I think the base game is an amazing experience and each map has its own fresh personality with tons of replayability trying to learn each choreo and unlock all the customizations. I'd definitely recommend if you aren't afraid to break a sweat in the living room

This edition is a downgrade from the previous version. It’s all digital but struggles to run on the switch, frequently giving display errors and crashes. A user can no longer create their own playlists, and it is compatible with Just Dance subscriptions with a catalogue of ~150 songs; versus previous versions being compatible with Just Dance Unlimited subscriptions with a catalogue of 700 songs. I do enjoy some of the new dancers, but once my JD trial is up, I cannot see myself favoring this game over the past versions that had more features AND access to more content.
Just like everything else anymore, there is no physical card. If your switch is like ours, then it doesn't hold a giant amount of anything without being completely full. That means you have to delete existing stuff you already paid for just to play the new stuff you paid for. Then, you have to make sure to log into your Nintendo account, then log in to your Ubisoft account to even launch this game. So instead of my kids popping a game in and enjoying it, we get to delete games, check log ins, reset passwords, wait on email confirmations, and do a bunch of other stupid things for them to attempt to enjoy the gift I bought them for Christmas. This product is only available for Nintendo switch as a download. It requires you to set up an account just to start downloading before playing. Most of the songs are only available with subscription for almost $10 a month. Songs were glitching and the game shut itself down. We purchased a switch just so we could play Just Dance 2023 and I am seriously disappointed with the selection, features and quality. We should have just downloaded the cell phone app. Our old Wii was easier start up and doesn’t require a subscription. The additional songs are just versions from the previous games.
We were aware this was only a digital download, which in and of itself is ridiculous! In an attempt to download it, you also have to create an Ubisoft account. Way to scam your customers information! It also says there isn’t enough storage for the game and we need a mini SD card. Unreal that Nintendo doesn’t think they have enough money, they feel they need to force people into creating accounts and purchasing even more than just the game, which also by the way is more expensive this year than it EVER has been and there isn’t even a cartridge version!! If this is the new way Just Dance is being distributed, we will NEVER purchase a new one again!
