I needed a replacement for the T8 light ballast but didn’t want to have an open top tank. This slotted in perfectly in its place so I now have a enclosed tank as before. The tank is now much brighter and showing better colours.The only criticism is that it is still basic compared to some other LED lighting systems. Maybe Jewel could add soft start / dimming / spectrum adjustment in the future.

I purchased this replacement LED light unit at a competitive price, the price seems expensive but includes 2 LED tubes. I purchased the previous light unit from another supplier. I hope this replacement lasts longer than the 2 years 6 months the original lasted when the guarantee is for 2 years.

Excellent replacement unit

This product is a direct replacement for my old unit on my vision 180 tank. Perfect fit and accepts the original lids. Brighter than the original with efficient led tubes.

Review of Juwel MultiLux LED Light Units

I was obviously disappointed when my old tube light unit gave up the ghost and I discovered that replacement tubes were basically non existent. I was even more disappointed to discover I'd have to fork out an arm and a leg to upgrade my light unit to an LED one. It is definitely not a cheap thing to need to buy when you're hoping to just buy tubes. However, the difference it has made to my tank makes me question why I didn't upgrade before. Everything is so vibrant, the colours of the fish are SO bright. The plants look healthier than they ever have. I've been doing my tank a disservice by not upgrading sooner. Very Good Light

This was bought as a replacement for a T8 bulb unit which had failed, the LED bulbs produce a very nice light in the tank, not too bright and no need for reflectors any more as the light is directed down by the placement of the LED's in the unit. The big bonus is that as these are low power and use far less electricity than even the T*'s did they give off little to no heat and its far easier to regulate the tank temperature and less condensation in the hood. With no reflectors there is more space around the bulbs so makes day today feeding and maintenance simpler. I would recommend the LED units over standard bulbs .

Very nice but a little pricey

This works well with nice bright even lighting and is relatively efficient and definitely the best fitting for my aquarium. The only downside is the relatively high price tag and no dimmer or timer switch but still pleased with it.
