K&N Air Filters will require periodic cleaning, typically every 30,000 - 50,000 miles. K&N air filters use a specially formulated oil to attract and suspend dirt to the cotton-gauze filtration surface. Over time, dirt accumulates on the filter and airflow can be reduced. The K&N Recharger Filter Care Service Kits are ideal for cleaning and re-oiling your K&N filter. Included are a cleaning solution and dirt-attracting oil, both of which are formulated specifically for K&N's cotton-gauze filter media. Servicing your K&N Air Filter is simple; follow the instructions on the "Tech Data" tab, or download the PDF file for full instructions with pictures.

These filters are awesome! We live on a dirt road west of town so we replaced our paper filters with REAL ones shortly after moving out here. We use this kit about every 15K but the main point is no grime gets into the engines (we have a diesel F350 and a gasser). The vast majority have no idea how important clean air is to engines... every bit as important as it is to US! Its a dated thing. If you trade in your vehicle promptly its somebody else's problem. But we repair/maintain our paid-for vehicles for at least 15 years. Thus if we robb Peter now we pay Paul later & these filters and cleaning kits will prevent a lot of $$$ repairs from ever becoming an issue. For example a friend living close by has the same truck with similar 150K miles... with lots of ... But its the only difference between the vehicles measured over time that we can discern. He recently switched to K&N!

When I opened the compartment and first saw the filter from the engine side, I thought it was still OK (It looked like the day I last cleaned it.). Then I looked at the other side that was extremely dirty. I sprayed the filter with your Air filter cleaner and let it sit the suggested 10 minutes. When I rinsed the filter, there was actual mud or perhaps concrete dust coming off the air side of the filter. I washed it again and again there was the same mud, but to a lesser degree. After four washings I finally got it clean.I would hate to think of all those people running I294 with paper air filters. When I used to change the paper filter it was always dirty on the inside. I assume this let some dirt in the engine. Yours was just as clean as when I last cleaned it, on the engine side.I think your filter may have saved my Monte Carlo engine from a problem, even though it has high mileage that some people would consider a normal death.I am looking to 300,000 miles. Thank you for keeping my engine clean and operating for the next 100.000 miles.

Door Dash delivered my product as it was available at a "local store" even though I checked at the local store in Goodyear, AZ in the area of the store where it should have been located the day before with the help of a store employee. The box was wrapped in a plastic Walmart shopping bag and there was a "big" hole in the box but none of the contents was damaged so I wasn't too concerned about the condition of the box. My filter oil was a squeeze bottle and not a spray can so the photo does not look exactly like the product I received. The reason I ordered from Walmart was the cost compared to other companies offering the same product was approximately $5 less.
While this a good product, I would NOT recommend this product without a pump sprayer. I used 3/4 quarter of the bottle trying to get even coverage on both sides. I then had way too much on the filter and had to let it drain for 2 days. Always blot dry the edges and wire grills to prevent damage to your MAF.
This is my first purchase of this particular cleaning kit. The cleaner works great at breaking down the oil and contaminants in the filter and the oil is effective at saturating the gauze pleats. The only problem I had was that it was difficult to sparingly and precisely apply the oil using the supplied bottle due to the excessive flow rate provided by the spout. The next time I have to clean and re-oil, I'm going to find another bottle with a longer applicator spout and a smaller hole.
Excellent value kit at Halfords and good price too!Easy purchase on line to pick up later .The K&N Recharge kit is even Better now with the oil now in a spray formula as it makes it much better to evenly coat the Air filter .
easy process. used my dryer on extra low to speed up drying after cleaning. good for at least two uses.I had to ask for this kit to be brought out to me because it was NOT on the shelf at the Leslie and Lakeshore location. the five stars are for the product, but Canadian Tire is dumb for not having this out so people can see that it exists and they sell it. I happened to notice it on their app when looking for something else. I was looking to buy a new filter for a used car that came with the modified air filter system so I had no idea before finding this product that cleaning my filter was even an option.
Just purchased engine air filter and it says it will not need cleaning for 50K miles - I only drive less than 4K miles per year - but I might clean it every year. Have not been able to test product yet - assumed it will do excellent job. I kept my old filter for when I have to remove for the cleaning cycle.
K%26N is the best product's, when coming to their air filter's and such. And, this is coming from a retired high performance racing engine specialist. If it can hold up in a race car(Especially, on a dirt track, when it come's to the air filter's), then it would work great on the road's, as well. And yes, we have tried ALL other brand's, during our testing, and K%26N out performed them all. And, this oil coating, is a necessity to keep these air filter's performing to their best!
