I would highly recommend using K&N oil filters. I started using synthetic oil in my 2008 Toyota Matrix and changed the oil every 5,000 miles. At first I was using stock oil filters on the car but began noticing that around 4,000 miles after the oil change the cars horse power would significantly drop and on cold days the car would run ruff. I changed out the stock filter for a K&N and as soon as I took it out of the box and compared it to the Toyota oil filter, I knew the K&N product was a much better filter. Since I have been using K&N my cars horse power does not drop off after 4,000 miles and ruff starts and performance on cold days is no longer a problem. I can usually pick these up for about $15.00 and they are well worth the money. I'm confident that synthetic ... MoreI would highly recommend using K&N oil filters. I have bought two of these, and have regretted it everytime. These are an absolute nightmare to remove. The "easy-remove nut" is too round to use. Wrenches just slip off of it. Then because of the added nut, an oil filter cup won't fit properly on the filter, so that's utterly useless. Both times, I have had to puncture the filter with a screwdriver and use that as my leverage, but even then that's a nightmare because of the location of the filter on my car.

K&N makes quality products, but overall have the best oil filters on the market in my opinion and nothing beats the quality, even if it's a little more money then most filters out there you get nothing but the best filtering and and performance from your vehicle.Used on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan SXTOil Filter: HP-7026

Lots of companies make decent filters. K&N boasts that theirs is particularly good, which may be true, but the real selling point for me is the hex nut welded onto the end of the filter. It has proven to be the only truly reliable way to remove the filter from my Camry Hybrid. There is minimal space and access to the sides of the filter. Using a socket on the end is so much easier, and reliable, than other types of filter wrenches.
The 1-inch welded on nut helps make installation easy. K&N is my go-to brand for oil and air filters for their reliability and quality. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-star rating is due to the filter in the advertised image looking different than what I received. Overall still a great product.
Improved oil pressure over many kms where phram, acdelco etc would have diminishing oil pressure over time.Easy to remove with the welded nut. K&N seems to have quality products!
If you want a happy engine, use this one. The best when combined with synthetic oil. Much economical than putting the cheap one at half price then changing every 5k km. This oil filter can last 2 oil changes and engine still at its best performance.
I recently purchased a k &n oil filter for a Kohler garden tractor engine. The K&Npart number on the box was for the engine but the filter did not fit on the engine. It was entirely a K & N problem.Swapped for the correct WIX product the mext day.
For the record, K&N is the oil filter brand I will ever use in my cars since 10 years ago. The HP 1003 is a perfect fit for my 2008 Scion TC 5 speed. Very easy to install and remove. It not only protects my engine but it's ceramic material helps the filter protect itself. I would recommend it with full synthetic or even a high mileage oil. I also recommend using Walmart.com. these filters can be expensive and run up to $16 in auto parts stores. The price here is a good $3 less than what you would find in a Wal-Mart store if they sell them. It's worth the money and worth the wait.
Quality control is hit and miss. I used these filters because I thought the filter was going to be top notch because it has the K&N brand but I was very disappointed to find out that the filter was leaking oil from the lug nut used to tighten/unscrew the filter. I hand tightened the filter and then half a turn more using a socket/wrench. A couple of days later I noticed an oil spot on my drive way. While inspecting the oil filter I noticed the welded lug nut was dripping oil from the welding.
