My wife ordered one of these for me for Valentine's Day (unfortunately not from Jet Pens since they didn't carry them at the time). (I wish Jet Pens would consider carrying Kaweco lead as I've been impressed by the quality of the lead that came in the pencil.)If you are unfamiliar with Kaweco it is a German company that dates from 1883 that was revived in the 1990s. Kaweco designs have an authentic "retro" look and feel to me (much more so than other brands that seem to attempt similar styles). This is not an inexpensive pencil and it probably wouldn't be suitable for drafting but for an elegant, retro style everyday writer, you can't go wrong with a Kaweco Special.

This Kaweco pencil is for MY Christmas present to me. I own several Kaweco pens, but never a pencil...which I frequently use on my Midori Notebook Diary. It is wonderful, small and sturdy with the favorite .5 lead. I am keeping it right by my Midori and intend to have it always available...no shifting from here to there so that I don't have it when needed. I love Kaweco pens...wonderful smooth nibs and...well...just favorites and this will be a new favorite, also!

After 31 years of using the Pentel P205 and having the latest one (15 years of use) finally give up the ghost I thought I would "look around" a bit. Within 15 minutes of using it I knew I had found my new pencil. I ordered the black version shown here and use it as my all day pencil. I'm a CPA (Tax Director with a Regional Firm) and while computers have taken over a lot of the "pencil pushing" the ol' pencil is still used a lot during the day and especially during tax season. The things I like about this pencil:(1) Built SOLID. Does not have that cheap "lightweight" mass produced feel to it. I see one reviewer said his cap rattled. I think that is a case of just getting a lemon because both of mine are rock solid with no noise whatsoever.(2) Weight. You can actually feel the "heft" in your hand. I like the feel of actually having some "weight" in your hand at as it feels solid in your hand and doesn't move around as you use it.(3) Mechanics are great. Lead advances perfectly with no "hangs".(4) No breakage. RARELY do I have lead break using this pencil. Don't know why that is but I don't know that it has ever happened. If so, it happens so infrequently you don't notice it.(5) Girth. Finally, this is the thing that makes me really like this pencil. It has a slightly larger circumference than most mechanical pencils. Larger but not TOO large. The benefit of that (for me) is the fact that my hand no longer "cramps" when writing for long periods of time. My old pencils were fairly skinny and I often had to quit writing and flex the hand. Not with this pencil. I think that extra thickness allows my hand and hand muscles to maintain a more natural, unstrained position...thus no writer's cramps.Good pencil. Glad I came across it.

WOW, lucky me, my son (6 years old) has to use a special pencil at school to help with his grip, it requires 2mm lead. So I came to Jetpens to buy 2mm lead and while I was here, looked at a way to use the lead for myself since it made sense to order the lead in larger quantities, shipping blah blah, well I decided on this pencil and WOW!!So its instantly my absolute favorite pencil for so many reasons, I do a LOT of writing in pencil on my job during our busy season and my hand cramps up TERRIBLY because I simply must press forcefully with the pencil due to the need to make multiple copies of the documents, I started using this pencil with 2B lead, WOW first with the 2B you dont have to press as hard, it comes out bold, and this pencil I get absolutely NO cramping ... MoreWOW, lucky me, my son (6 years old) has to use a special pencil at school to help with his grip, it requires 2mm lead. Its PERFECT!!I had other smaller writing tools in the past, and they didnt fit right, and also lead to hand cramps, the lenght on this is perfect, and I have long fingers, so I imagine this would be usable to almost everyone. Solid metal, its just a fantastic lifelong pencil, I started looking for the pens to go along with, but apparently there are some plastic pieces in there. I will be ordering the full length of this pencil when I need lead again.I cant say enough about this pencil, I like writing instruments a lot, but I am no collector by any means, this pencil I cannot recommend highly enough. The lead lasts a LOOOOOONG time, but you do have to sharpen it often with the softer leads like the 2B, so its not as "productive" as a standard .5mm or anything like that, but really it doesnt take much time to sharpen. It also looks like something from a long long time ago, really cool vintage looking pencil to have laying around the desk, I love this

I have been using this all the time since I got it and I love it. It is the perfect width and size and the 2mm lead width allows you a lot of lead options (though some need to be cut down to fit in its shortened length). When it comes to pocket lead holders this is a real goldilocks product.I had tried the Kaweco Sport Lead holder, but you are very limited on the lead grades as it uses 3.2 mm lead rather than 2 mm lead. I also found the body itself was just a bit to wide and short.I followed that with the Koh-I-Noor mini lead holder but ran across the opposite problem when it came to the body. It was too thin, even if the length was fine. I also had a problem with the clutch not grasping the lead tight enough for me to sharpen it easily. The lead would spin around in the lead holder and not get any sharper. This one has had none of those problems. It is rock solid, feels good in the hand, a nice weight and the coating has just enough grip on it to keep it from slipping. I was using it everyday at work, but with COVID-19 and working from home I use a wood case pencil. Still, I miss using this product. It so good I might not buy any more wood case pencils...

I use this while I'm reading to make notes or underline. It compact size means you barely notice it in your hand while reading--until you want to use it. I like the .9mm size because the leads are a little more robust and give you a nice dark line on the page (especially with the 2B leads I use) that doesn't smear that easily, at least not compared to larger lead sizes.

I wanted a mechanical pencil that is easy to use, but small enough to not fall out my pockets sitting down. The metal design counters the compact size and feels great using. It looks super cute too, and always fun to show off to people (who ever expects to see a small mechanical pencil?). A great tool, and would totally recommend.

It is portable, it is pocket safe, it has the optimum lead width 0,9mm to my taste. It is enjoyable to write with, just by slightly rotating the pencil while you write allows the line width to variate. I purchased also the 2.0 mm version, which I find too thick for everyday use at the office. I use it for large font notes for music notation (guitar chords). I like very much the measurements of the pencil. I have large hands and I like the thickness and the octagonal shape. I love it does not have the sleeve for the lead and the design of the pencil tip works for me very well. I like the sturdy material. As to the length, I was positively surprised to find that the length is enough for my large hands to write comfortable. solid weight. solid feel. great functionality. a bit slipery if youve got sweaty fingers like me. and its fantastic brass doesnt lend itself ot been marred with a pencil grip. but otherwise, its a true delight to write with.
