I'm a huge fan of Keen footwear for both kids and adults. My 5-year-old son has been wearing summer sandals and mountain shoes since he started walking. It has never broken us. They hold perfectly the whole cycle until the size is too small. They are very comfortable and resistant. They are expensive but they are worth what you pay. The reinforced toe is a plus. Not even the use of the scooter where the foot always drags and the footwear suffers, it can with them.
Shoes are great for a 3-year-old. Durable. Good traction for climbing on the playground equipment. I spray shoes with waterproof when new and shoes stay nice longer.
