Purchased the Raya Black in my typical shoe size. I really like the colours, they are vivid and clear (not muddy or washed out). I have received many compliments on them. They, like my other Keens in this style are very comfortable. I wear them without socks, which almost feels like I am going barefoot, which is feeling I like. They have some wiggle room in my usual size, but if I were to wear socks I may need to go up a half size, I haven't tried it, so I am not certain. I have multiple pairs in this style and am pleased with them all! I am looking forward to new colours!

The first pair of these that I owned were amazing, lasted forever, and were 5 stars. I replaced them in 2021. They are comfortable, very sturdy, have good tread, and I've used them on some big hikes and use them as approach shoes when I go climbing (though not ideal for that purpose; I just hate wearing fully closed hiking shoes). Yes, I often have to take them off every few steps to shake out tiny pebbles and rocks, depending on the terrain, but I suppose that's the price to pay for wearing sandals. They slip on and off easily. However, as water shoes, I dont like them very much. They take FOREVER to dry - I dont understand how they are "waterproof". I go on a lot of portaging trips and if they get wet in the morning, unless it's the middle of summer and I find a way to dry them in the hot sun literally all day, they are still wet by night time (and the next morning), and it sucks wearing wet shoes all day long. Whatever antimicrobial thing they say is present seems to have worn off or not be very good - they started smelling awful within the first year of use. On a recent trip with these shoes to the Philippines, not only would they not dry, they smelled horrific even after I washed them repeatedly with soap. I ended up having to wash them in a hotel sink with every kind of soap I could find, then blow dry them (because they take forever to dry otherwise even when left out in the sun), then double wrap in bags and stuffed it deep in my backpack so I could take a crowded bus without everybody having to smell my Keens. I gave 3 stars because they are so sturdy, durable, comfortable, and have decent traction. But as a water shoe, especially for portaging and canoe tripping, I'm really unimpressed.

These shoes are great and perfect for what I need them for. I just wish I read the reviews before purchasing them because they definitely run small. I normally wear size 7 and when I got them in the mail I couldn't even get them on my feet. So now I'm rocking a size 7.5 and they are tight and a struggle to get on, but atleast I can actually get them on! I considered getting size 8 but someone said I might have too much toe room and that for shoes like this it's good to be a little tight. I dunno for sure yet. I still need to test these out on the trail but I'm enjoying them thus far.I'm obsese so my feet are probably thicker than some other peoples feet. But if you sometimes have to buy the wide version of your shoe size (like me) I'd definitely size up.

Listen, I avoided buying hiking sandals for months. I am a huge flip-flop fan and wear them casually 90% of the time (the other time I wear sneaks if it is too cold or rainy). My husband bought a pair of Men's newports and raved about them. I was intrigued, so I hopped online and looked at the women's Newport options. I was nervous about investing in a sandal that I didn't think could convert me from flip-flops... I was wrong! Very wrong! I have worn these shoes almost every day - from causal campground walks (I travel the US full-time in an RV), to intense moderate hikes in Acadia National Park to city walking and exploring the local towns. I love them! I am a total convert and now I am thinking of ordering another pair in a different color. lol! I do recommend ... MoreListen, I avoided buying hiking sandals for months. I measure I size 9.5 and that is what I wear in my trail runners, but ordered a 9 and think they feel perfect! @inspiredwego
I have owned a pair of KEEN men's Newports for years. They are great for light hiking, wading, lake day, boating and more. Recently we purchased a boat, so I bought my wife a pair of these. First, she loved the fun colors. It appears every pair might be unique (can't say for certain, but hers don't match the picture). She wears them for everyday shoes in the summer. They were great for a lake day a week ago. They fit securely on your feet so they don't fall off when you wade in the water. Here in North Texas, the soil burns your feet at the lake, so they are great for walking on the burning sand or asphalt at the boat ramp. The soles are sturdy and have good grip, so if the ground is uneven or slippery, these are great. If these are the same build quality as ... MoreI have owned a pair of KEEN men's Newports for years. I've had my Newports since 2017 or 2018, and they have endured some rugged terrain. We both love our KEEN Newports. If you are in and out of the water a lot, these are awesome, but they are also great every day shoes for the summer.
The good: Thick soles have excellent support (I have high arches and these soles are SO comfortable) and great traction while still having good ground feel. Fat toe cap provides substantial protection from tripping, stubbed toes, and unexpected pointy things. Easy to clean, just run some water over them and you're good. The bad: Thick vertical stitching on the INSIDE of the heel straps was a TERRIBLE design decision -- had to wrap in fresh moleskin or bandages for every hike, or else get blisters on the backs of my heels. And now, a month outside of the warranty period, with maybe 80 miles on them total (I bought them last summer and I only wear them to hike in warm weather, I don't wear them as casual shoes), the stitching on the inside is coming loose. I discovered this at the end of a hike this weekend, when the tops of one foot came out bloody from the loose strings that had been rubbing against my skin for miles. The soles are so comfy that they make me want to try a different pair of Keen sandals with the same sole. But I'm not sure whether to trust the brand with a second pair after the first started coming apart and ripping up my feet, with less than 100 miles on them.
I have loved my Newports for over a decade. It's time to get new ones so of course they were my first choice. No matter how loose I made the bungee, I struggled to get my foot into the shoe (1/2 size larger than previous pair because you know what happens to feet as we age, lol). My right foot got in after much tugging and pulling effort and the shoe fit and felt great! But the left shoe couldn't get past my foot arch. It just isn't worth the massive struggle to get my feet into the shoes despite the great comfort once they are on. PLEASE, Keen, add more stretch or more space to the shoe opening like they used to have so those of us with beautiful high arches can continue to enjoy your shoes, too!
Every summer for the last decade I buy a pair of Keen Newports. I work outside on a farm and I need supportive protective shoes that keep my feet cool that I can work it n for at least 10 hours. I bought a pair of Newport H2’s and discovered sadly, these are not the same Newports s I’ve come to love and depend on. The sole is different, thinner, not at all as supportive. I worked a full day and my feet ached so badly I never put that pair of Keens in again. Now I’m on the hunt for old Keens before this “downgrade”. I noticed immediately the Newport H2 fit differently straight out of the box and I was not wrong. I’m so incredibly disappointed. My old standby summer work sandal is no more and my feet are killing me. Some things are not an improvement and the Newport ... MoreEvery summer for the last decade I buy a pair of Keen Newports. The material and workmanship is excellent. The toe box and width is perfect. The stretchy ties are perfect. However, the amount of material used to make the heel strap is so minimal that one can barely get the shoe on. Then the heel strap digs into your ankle because the strap is so short. To this day, I have only worn these Keens indoors on tile flooring. My hope is that a miracle will occur and that the heel strap will become more comfortable. The other hope is that I could return the Keens for a different pair of H2 Keens whose heel strap is a better length. I have LOVED other Keen water shoes for their sturdiness and comfort.
I have had many pair of KEEN sandals and shoes and have loved the roominess within the toe box, of which KEEN has always been famous. This most recent sandal was so tight across the top of my foot I could barely get my foot in. The size was correct so getting a half size larger wouldn’t have solved the issue. The previous sandal I purchased online (Rose) was also way too tight but I kept hoping they would stretch and soon was beyond time for proper return. This was so disappointing. The first pair of Rose sandals I purchased in 2018 was perfect from the first day, carried me twice to Guatemala and Yucatán as well. I am still wearing those bedraggled sandals which still feel so good. The width on the Newport H2 was adequate.
