And more terrain — asphalt to trail to scree to stone steps. So Keen took the room-for-your-toes comfort, protection, and stability of the iconic hiker and gave it a running shoe feel with a waterproof, engineered knit upper and all-terrain tread. 18 years in the making, Keen's original fit is built to hold your heel firmly in place and give your toes room to spread out. Move fast over a variety of surfaces with confidence, not stubbed toes. Keen's proprietary horseshoe tread pattern grips from heel brake to toe roll. KEEN.DRYA waterproof, breathable membrane that lets vapour out without letting water in. Perspiration and moisture naturally produced by the foot are able to escape, while at the same time keeping the wet out and the feet dry. ECO anti-odourThe insoles are infused with probiotic technology that naturally breaks down odour in sweat without heavy metals or hazardous chemicals.

I love Keen products. They are built to last. I had a pair that lasted over 10 years. But it was time to replace. These were perfect. They would have been...but over 10 years I guess my feet spread a half size. I do have to return these for a 1/2 size larger. The thing with Keen is they have a nice and wide toe box, but they stop right at the size. There is no room for toes to push forward. So if you where a 9 1/2... a 9 will not do you any good. But that is OK. They are comfortable and built to last for a long time. I will return these for the exact same shoe... just a 1/2 size larger. Then I am sure they will last another 10 years. The color looks a bit ivory on the web site, but they have a more khaki look to them. Which is perfect for me. Keen products are ... MoreI love Keen products. They are built to last. Liked the overall style and look of the shoes, but honestly impressed with the quality and functionality they showed from the first wear and beyond. On my first time in the shoes, I wanted to put them to the test. We went on a six+ mile hike with some significant elevation gain and I had no issues at all! Comfort and stable with no blisters, rubbing, soreness etc! I appreciate the tread on loose gravel/dirt and the reinforced toe on uneven terrain/tree roots. The waterproofing is only partial but holds up in rain, puddles, and mud. I wouldn't recommend dunking them in river though. While these shoes are a bit on an investment, I know I'll have them for a long time!! They are my new favorite in-between when hiking boots are a little extra but sneakers won't do.

The shoes are comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I love the rubber toe and they have come in handy multiple times while walking on the trail. I love that they come over the top of the toes, helps when hitting rocks and branches on the ground. They are water proof which is very nice, I tested them in the rain one day and they did well. I like the look of the shoe, the subtle purple is a nice touch. I love the arch support and I was surprised that I never developed blisters like I do in other shoes. Some things I didn’t like:The strings that attach the last part of the shoe lace, although it’s cool, I can see this getting caught and tearing. The shoe rams large. I would have sent them back and ordered a half size smaller. The toe box is also very ... MoreThe shoes are comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I would probably switch them out after being them but I kept them on for reviewing purposes. They are not very warm. I wore these on a cold windy day, temperature was in the 30-40s. These would be a great summer and spring shoe but definitely don’t keep your feet that warm.I would definitely recommend them to my friends but would tell them to order half a size smaller.

I was a bit skeptical as the toe box was initially a little squished. However after breaking in the shoes due to the lovely almost memory foam insole my toes are nice and comfy. Good grip for snowy streets and trails. Truly waterproof but look great. I like the shoelace keepers but does make tying them a little annoying.
I own enough Keen shoes and boots to last me 10x my life time to know these hiking shoes fit me like any other pairs. I have been using Targhee II for the last how many years for hikes (I am a casual hiker) and around campsites. When I saw "waterproof" for these hiking shoes, I was intrigued. They are meshy and didn't look waterproof to me! I am not too keen on (pun intended) the color scheme of them, though. I am not a neat person when it comes to outdoor gears and I don't avoid mud puddles when I hike/bike. The website suggests that I could wash them, but would I? Nope!I haven't tried them in rain yet, so I can't review on waterproofness, but I am writing a review based on hiking/camping trips I went. Nope!I haven't tried them in rain yet, so I can't review on waterproofness, but I am writing a review based on hiking/camping trips I went. First of all, as the look tells me, these shoes are much lighter in weight than Targhee II. I was comfortable and not feeling cold at night at a campsite (but temp didn't dip. It was around low 40's). When I was walking through sandy area in Columbia Basin, sand filled the meshy holes, but they came out fine. I would be curious what happens if the sand is wet.I don't particularly have narrow feet, but thin (someone called them "low volume"), so usually I have to double knot to accommodate the long shoe laces, but I don't have to do it with these. They are stiff and concerned that I had to retie every so often, but stayed on fine. Still, I am considering adding fasteners so that I don't have to deal with dangling shoe laces to the side.
I have several pairs of Keen shoes ranging from sneakers to sandals, but this is the first time I’ve tried a pair of their waterproof hiking shoes. The shoes themselves are very stylish when it comes to hiking shoes, which I liked - it’s nice when something doesn’t look too rugged and can be worn to other places besides the trails. I used these shoes recently on a muddy hike and my feet stayed warm and dry. My only complain is that they are quite stiff and rigid, even though I would consider them more low profile hiking shoes. The soles were a bit hard and the shoe definitely had little to no give in terms of flexibility. My ankles were hurting a bit after a 2 hour hike. Perhaps they would break in with time, but I’ve had more comfortable casual-focused hiking shoes ... MoreI have several pairs of Keen shoes ranging from sneakers to sandals, but this is the first time I’ve tried a pair of their waterproof hiking shoes. I was excited to test these shoes out on our light hikes (1-5 miles) in the PNW. I like how lightweight they are and how they're basically just a waterproof sneaker with better traction vs. a heavy intense hiking boot. For longer hikes > 5 miles and wetter days, I'd probably still go with hiking boots that come up over my ankles for more support and more protection against puddles and kicking up water. These shoes are perfect for a shorter hike with some light rain or wet muddy trails. They'll also be great for summer hikes when you have to walk across some rivers or creeks but aren't in the water the whole time.
My initial impression of these hiking shoes was great. They fit like a glove! However, after my first hike in them of about 4 miles, my opinion changed somewhat. The positives: great grip when hiking down steep or loose surfaces, my feet felt snug and secure; I liked the rubber lip that came up onto the front of the shoe to protect the toes from stubbing; they were nice and lightweight. The negatives: the toe box is wide, but not tall, so the top of the shoe pressed down on my big toe and I ended up with a bruised left big toenail; these shoes ended up feeling more like a tennis shoe than a hiking shoe -- I could feel the poke of sharp rocks underfoot; they are better suited with a regular sock than a hiking sock -- felt too snug once my feet swelled in the heat; ... MoreMy initial impression of these hiking shoes was great. Overall, I started out at rating this 5 stars, then reduced to 4, then ended up with 3 stars. I wore them for several hikes, then eventually had to switch back to my using my usual mid-height boots which feel a lot more thickly soled, spacious in the toe, and actually cooler. The waterproofing in these hiking shoes made my feet feel hotter than hiking shoes/boots usually do. I would recommend these shoes for walks in the woods where the ground surface is soft, for cool weather hikes, but mostly for casual neighborhood walks -- nothing in temps above 80 nor long-distance.
I rarely am willing to buy a new style of shoes before trying them on - took a chance on these, as I've been looking for a pair of waterproof hiking shoes that are not higher on the ankles. Keen is a brand that I usually love but admit I've sometimes had a difficult time with their trail shoes. I appreciated the previous reviews suggesting to size up on these - I sized up a half size and they are perfect. They do not slip off my ankle and have great support. And I can attest to the waterproof feature since I briefly stepped into a lake to fetch a cool stone on a recent hike.
I’ve been looking for a shoe for day hikes and daily dog walks in the rain. Even on dry days, I often walk through wet grass that can soak my feet. This shoe gives me comfortable support and traction while keeping my feet dry. They are lighter than my rough and tumble hiking boots. I’m not a fan of the large Keen logo, but the dark blue makes me happy. I’m between a size 6.5 and 7 and when the size 7 felt tight, I almost gave up on the shoe, but I decided to try size 7.5. Bingo! RIGHT fit. There is room for my toes and bunions. Heel stays in place. My feet are happy.
