I'm a long time Keen wearer. I'm a 7.5 all the time even in Keens except for my Newports which is known to need a half size up (at least when I got mine). The sizing on these is not like my other regular Keens but still what I'd consider a 7.5. They're more snug in the toes though still wide enough for me. I've not overheated to the point where my feet swell a lot but I can see how they may be too snug at that point because my longest toe usually feels like it's going to hit the end of the shoe. However, there's actually room so it doesn't happen. I loved the comfort, the light weight and robustness of the shoe so much that I got another pair for backup. I sized up to 8. No more feeling my toe is going to hit the shoe but now I feel there's a tad too much room ...Ā MoreI'm a long time Keen wearer. No more feeling my toe is going to hit the shoe but now I feel there's a tad too much room because my foot slides just a bit around inside. I rectify that by making the laces tighter, but that's a hassle for me. Maybe I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have the 7.5. I hope this helps others with sizing. I also wear orthotics. As soon as I tried them on out of the box, I fell in love and wanted to go out right away and play in them. I love all my Keens but I really love this pair because they're light and cushy like a sneaker, but my feet feel solid on the ground like my hikers. I feel like I can walk forever in them, and they keep my feet dry in the rain.

The shoes are comfortable and supportive right out of the box. I love the rubber toe and they have come in handy multiple times while walking on the trail. I love that they come over the top of the toes, helps when hitting rocks and branches on the ground. They are water proof which is very nice, I tested them in the rain one day and they did well. I like the look of the shoe, the subtle purple is a nice touch. I love the arch support and I was surprised that I never developed blisters like I do in other shoes. Some things I didnāt like:The strings that attach the last part of the shoe lace, although itās cool, I can see this getting caught and tearing. The shoe rams large. I would probably switch them out after being them but I kept them on for reviewing purposes. They are not very warm. I wore these on a cold windy day, temperature was in the 30-40s. These would be a great summer and spring shoe but definitely donāt keep your feet that warm.I would definitely recommend them to my friends but would tell them to order half a size smaller.

These are so comfortable, I got my regular keen size which is half size smaller than my regular shoe size. These are lighter than the other pair I bought that was on sale. At first they seemed narrow but the laces were the problem. I changed the laces to caterpy laces and they fit perfect now. They feel so good, I came back for a second pair but my size is all sold out. They look much better in person. Very grippy, very good for trails.

Once I got the right size (go UP at least a half size), I love these great hiking shoes. In the Pacific Northwest, any day can be a rainy day and these shoes keep my feet dry. Plus, they are darn comfortable even with my bunion. I normally wear anything from a 6 to 7. But in these shoes, I needed a 7-1/2. They fit great with my light hiker socks from SmartWool. I came back for a second pair so I have a backup -- that's how much I love them.
These are described as Medium width, so I should not have been so disappointed. I hoped these would have the original wide toebox Iāve found in other KEEN āmediumā shoes, but these are definitely not wide and have little give. They are lightweight, sturdy hikers with a great tread, and being waterproof is a huge bonus, but my wide forefoot felt squeezed and I had to send these back. This is not the first time Iāve regretted not having a Medium width foot. If you do, these would be great, thus my āyes, I would recommendā. My search for a hiking shoe with these qualities in WIDE continues.
I have worn Keen sandals for 17 years now and they fit like they were made for my fat-toed high-arch feet. They actually help heal my plantar fasciitis as no other shoe ever fit this well. Every pair I've had was an 8.5. But I needed something for cold weather walking. So I ordered these shoes in 8.5. They squished my fat toes - so were returned and I re-ordered 1/2 size up. The 9's are a perfect fit. The toebox on this style felt slightly narrower than the sandals due to the greater coverage of a closed shoe vs. open sandals. Plus, wearing socks added extra width that I don't get when barefoot in my sandals. Ready to walk this winter in a comfy pair of Keens!
I bought these as walking shoes. I walk on mixed terrain. From my doorstep on concrete to a dirt trail with multiple wooden bridges. The shoe is ok on dirt trail but I slid quite a bit on the wet concrete and wood. More than I am comfortable with. I have arthritis so I can't afford to fall and these slipped around so much on push-out that I will not be wearing them again. I live in the Pacific Northwest so wet conditions are part of daily life. It's my first Keen shoe and I don't understand the hype when they slip so badly. The shoe is moderately comfortable, though I find it narrow around the instep. Overall, not happy.
On the side of the shoe, the "Keen" name is not as noticeable as I feared. Many reviews stated to size up 1/2 size. I found that didn't work for me. This shoe has a shorter toe box than Keen usually offers. I have always worn a 9.5. I ordered to 10 after purchasing the 9.5. The 10 arch was off and the toe box was not taller, longer, but too long. The 10 fit was bigger and felt already broken in. The 9.5 for me, needs to be broken in a bit and hopefully that will happen soon. I will pack the toe box to strech.I feel it is better to stretch a snug shoe rather than slip on the back of of a shoe possibly to big to start..Love the staff at Keen customer service. Very supportive and they never let you feel the problem is yours. The only reason I didn't give a 5 ā, is ...Ā MoreOn the side of the shoe, the "Keen" name is not as noticeable as I feared. Many reviews stated to size up 1/2 size. It may be too big for some, but it was perfect for me.It is a beautiful, not over bright, white and gray shoe.
I have NARROW feet with absolutely no INSTEP. There is no way these shoes should have been so extremely tight width wise. What happened to Keenās original wider shoe with the i Fay wide tie box???? Very disappointed! Iām not sure what has changed, but Keens are not like the original designs that were great. My whole family wears Keens. If these are the products you continue to make, weāll be looking elsewhere. Thatās three customers youāve lost.
Let me start off by saying that I have never owned a pair of shoes that were comfortable for my feet before finding these. I over-pronate, have collapsed arches, and wide feet along with a myriad of lower back issues. These shoes were incredibly comfortable for me BEFORE I even put in my expensive inserts. I love the wide toe box, the solid structure, and strong heel counter. I enjoy walking in these shoes. That said, I think for the cost, they appear to wear too quickly for me. I bought them 2 months ago because I needed comfortable shoes to be on my feet most of the day for my job. After wearing almost daily for 2 months, the fabric on the back of the heels has worn/torn off. The grips on the bottom of the shoes are noticeably quite worn down, especially closer to ...Ā MoreLet me start off by saying that I have never owned a pair of shoes that were comfortable for my feet before finding these. I'm worried I won't be able to wear these for a year, which after considering how much they cost, is a bummer. These may be a good shoe that you find worth the cost if you don't have a job where you are on your feet all day. But for me, I'm not sure yet. I will keep wearing and enjoying them as long as they are comfortable and wearable, which hopefully is longer than I think they will be.
