I like this shoe very much. Very good looking and well made.My left foot is usually tighter so I tried it on first. It fit perfectly. Then I put on the right shoe; to my amazement, it was a littletighter. I walked in it around the house. It feels much more comfortable. The first time that has happened. However, the left foot feels morecomfortable than the right. It is usually the right foot that is alwayscomfortable. At this point, no need to return them. The shoesare quite flexible. Good product!Thank you. Nicely packaged.

Be aware the insoles for these shoes has zero arch support. This makes the shoes feel like bowling shoes. I immediately swapped the insoles of these shoes for my keen hiking boots. The craftsmanship and quality of these shoes are poor. I've had the shoes two weeks and they show visible signs of wear, creasing loose threads. Straight from the box the glue connecting the insole to the upper was exposed. Some areas the glue is clearly missing and I can stick a credit card between the insole and upper. Despite all this I'm keeping the shows because I need the wide toe box. I just expect the shoes to disintegrate over the next sox months. Buying me time to research other brands with a wide toe box.

As expected, these are comfortable walking shoes for someone with wants ample toe room. Four stars instead of five because of the laces — too short for me to double knot the bow to keep it secure. I replaced the flat cotton laces with longer round athletic shoe laces in black. That fixed the problem for me. The soles seemed slick out of the box, but a bit of walking fixes that problem. My walking route includes lots of gravel roadway; Presidio has the right combination of flexibility, cushioning and support to handle that.

I was looking for a sturdy, fashionable walking shoe for 5 weeks of walking through Spain. Because I already own and love the Newport H2 and the Voyageur (my most favorite) I figured the Presidio Fired Brick would be the same. But alas they are not quite.Cute look with the toe box shape but then it seems to cut off the tips of the toes, because of the slant at the toe box maybe. The heel doesn’t seem to grab on thus leaving foot to slide forward a bit. Walking in these feels like Keens cannot decide if this is a sneaker or a hiking boot. They flex a bit but seem to want to be stiff too like a hiking shoe soo not sure about keeping them.
I’m not fond of the change to the insole, because the new one is less cushy. I’m on my feet all day and need cushy. But I like the look of the shoe for business casual, and I have swapped in an insole from a pair of work shoes, so they are serving, if a little tight. If Keene could give the Presidio the cushiness of their work shoes and somehow maintain the business casual look, I would give them an unreserved 20 stars. As it is, I have to make do, because work shoes don’t appear to come in brown, at the moment. Bottom line, however, is there is always enough room for my toes to naturally spread, in. Keene, and that’s what keeps me coming back.
Although I had to return these shoes because of the fit, I'm giving two stars instead of one because I realize they may fit other people better than they fit me. The pair of Presidios I bought in 2010 were super comfortable, with a terrifically cushioned insole. The insoles now are no better than any other shoe, and for someone with foot pain, that makes a difference. When I tried replacing the insole with something cushier there wasn't room top to bottom for my foot. Keen used to be the one shoe brand I could count on. I've tried several styles recently, and not one of them works for me. Makes me sad.
I have been wearing Keens for at least 20 years. Each time I got a new pair I knew what to expect. Not so anymore. The once comfortable Presidio - my go-to shoe, is no longer comfortable. The arch support is almost non-existent; the shoestrings are much shorter so I can no longer double knot them (they will always come untied at least once every wearing); the shoe is stiff and seems to resist getting broken in. In short, they are not the same Keen comfortable, wear-everywhere shoes. This makes me sad since I really loved wearing the "old" Keens. Once more, an "improvement" ruins a good thing.
I've worn through 2 pairs of Presido shoes over the years, both of which fit perfectly and were comfortable to walk in from day one. A little over a month ago, I received a third pair and was disappointed to discover they were very different from previous pairs. Most obvious: the leather is much stiffer. I thought they'd break in after a couple weeks, but they haven't even after a month. Second, Keene changed the insole. I have high arches, so I appreciated the good arch support and cushioning previous insoles have had. The new insole is a thin, flat foam. Keene sells insoles separately, for an additional $50-60 plus shipping. I got $12 insoles from Walgreens that have better arch support and cushioning than those that came with my new Presidios. Finally, I need to tighten the laces so much that the top of my insteps gets sore to keep my feet from sliding around and banging into the toes while walking. Perhaps the foot bed is a bit wider? Tightening the laces is not easy either, because they're too snug in the eyelets. I wish I'd noticed Keene's 30-day return policy. However, I spent most of the first 30 days messing with insoles and thinking I just needed to wear the shoes and to get them broken in.
I purchased this shoe because I had one many years ago that I totally wore out. Also because some slip on shoes I had had stretched out to the point that my feet were slipping down too far into the toe area and my toes were now at the edge of the shoe and very uncomfortable. I decided that I needed to purchase something with laces so that I could tighten them up to prevent my feet from moving. These are great! I knew that I could buy them and that they would fit great and feel very comfortable for all day wear. I put my orthotics in them which guarantees complete comfort. I’d just like them in more colors; the one I had before was purple!
I am on my second pair of everyday presidio (I also have a pair with cleats for biking and four pairs of Keen sandals). Please bring back the black that had the brushed leather everywhere, just like the current shitake and red have. I do not like the two different materials on the same shoe. I will resole my existing ones when the time comes unless Keen brings back the all brushed leather/suede version in black. I have a wide foot and the wide toe box are perfect! Also please bring back clip-in biking shoes - I have a pair in sandals and one in presidio and they are wearing out after many years and many miles on the bike!
