I thought I had a bad batch but now I see other people are having issues with ā€œhard bitsā€ I almost broke a tooth a moment ago! Felt like I bit down on a rock. I snapped a pic of the last piece that hurt my tooth. It looks like plastic! I won’t buy them anymore because they are not enjoyable to eat when I’m hesitant to chew because of the unpleasant feeling of biting into ā€˜Hard bits’ which is in pretty much every bite! Disappointing. What happened with this cereal. How can they expect people to eat small pebbles for breakfast!

Kellogg's is and has been my favorite brand for cereal since childhood. Rice Krispies, though harder to find since the pandemic, are a regular purchase for me and my family. And frankly, the hard bits texture is very similar to undercooked rice, in my opinion. I don't know the exact cause of this, but at this time I'm not confident enough to purchase additional boxes of Rice Krispies until the issue is fully addressed. Thanks for listening.

More hard crunchy bits!!!
5 July 2022

I haven't made Rice Krispies Squares in a few years until recently when I decided to make a batch. Much to my family and my disappointment there were hard crunchy bits throughout the squares. That batch went in the garbage! I wasn't sure if it was from the cereal so I bought another box, more marshmallows and made another batch. Hard crunchy bits again! It's the cereal, no doubt about it. I was going to try yet another new box but after reading these reviews I don't think I will. Until Kellogg's gets it's act together and fixes this problem I won't be buying this cereal again. So disappointed you could do this to a long trusted brand.

No snap, crackle, or pop
20 March 2022

What has happened? Did I get a rogue box? I just opened a box of nostalgic Kellogg’s Rice Crispies to find a different look to them, they were a dark shade tan. Have they been baked too long? We’re they burned? The disappointing visual look was compounded by the taste. What are these things? They taste nothing like the good old favorites of years gone by. These are a poor replica of Cheerios, I hate Cheerios, oh NO.If this is a rogue box please tell me because it will be my last box, the remainder of which will be tossed away (I wonder if the birds will even eat them?) if it is a ā€œbad boxā€ then I can chalk it up as an unfortunate circumstance and purchase another box, but please don’t tell me they changed the recipe. I am left here crying in my cereal.

Snap Crackle Pop your teeth
3 June 2022

Used to love Rice Krispies bought them all the time. Last few boxes haven’t been right they all had different dates so it wasn’t the same batch either. They have hard pieces of either rice or some other product in the rice krispies. Cannot chew them, too hard they hurt and break teeth. How can you continue to sell and manufacture this cereal to households and especially with kids? Whatever your doing is the exact opposite of what Rice Krispies Kelloggs cereal should be. Never had these issues in the past? Sad to say but I won’t be buying Rice Krispies anymore until reports of this stop happening and product changes are made. I wouldn’t even be able to use this to make Rice Krispies treats the way it is, or any other snack. Shame when something loved and was a good ...Ā MoreUsed to love Rice Krispies bought them all the time. The Kellogg's Rice Krispies is super tasty and crispy.Kids really enjoyed eating this toasted rice cereal everyday. They love hearing the rice krispies snap, crackle, pop when pouring milk onto them. This is so fun for little ones in the morning. The 700g box is huge and it got 23 servings into it,which last us for a whole week.We always add fresh fruits on top and it fills us up till lunch.Knowing also that we can make delicious treat out of this cereal, which we always do when it's Easter time. The freshness, very good quality and great value are definitely there.Love that it's packed full with 50% of our daily vitamin D needs and more other vitamins like B6,B12 & several minerals.Made with natural grains, with no artificial colours or flavours.Definitely ...Ā MoreThe Kellogg's Rice Krispies is super tasty and crispy.Kids really enjoyed eating this toasted rice cereal everyday. The freshness, very good quality and great value are definitely there.Love that it's packed full with 50% of our daily vitamin D needs and more other vitamins like B6,B12 & several minerals.Made with natural grains, with no artificial colours or flavours.Definitely recommend this product to you all.

Trying to avoid a broken tooth
22 July 2022

I’ve eaten Rice Krispies for years, and lately I’ve stopped, because I would prefer to not start my day with a broken tooth. I used to occasionally bite on a hard, almost glass-like piece, but now it’s multiple times in a bowl. It’s ridiculous! I’m not sure what is going on with production, but it needs to change. There is no biting into these pieces at all. It’s so disappointing, especially when I have 3 large boxes still. I just can’t risk cracking a tooth.

What happened???
9 July 2022

I’ve grown up eating Rice Krispies and making Rice Krispy treats since I was a kid, I carried on the tradition with my own kids. Today I made a batch for my daughters birthday and they were horrible! The formula changed, the rice was dark, tasted burnt, and didn’t have the light fluffy taste/feel I grew up on. We are done with this cereal unless they change back to the original formula. Such a disappointment. My kids didn’t even like the rice Krispy treats. No amount of marshmallow or shiver could hide the burnt/stale taste.

What was changed?
30 May 2022

I’ve been buying and eating Rice Krispies for over 50 years. A few years ago they changed the formula and they were such a tasteless disappointment I stopped buying. Months later I saw they went back to the original ingredients and started buying again. During the pandemic you couldn’t find them. Now they are back on the shelves but they have little of the rice flavor and I agree with other reviews regarding the hard bits that feel like they may break a tooth if you chew them up. Even my husband has commented on the change in flavor and the hard bits and he’s really not one to comment on food changes. Hope you are able to correct this problem Kellog’s.
