This is amazing.I've had it 2.5 years now. I bought the grating attachment and the blade food processor attachment. Both totally worth every penny! We use it multiple times a week, my husband makes breads and cakes the traditional way but I'm far too lazy for that! I may sausage mix, burger mix, cakes, bread dough, pizza dough etc all in here, it manages that with no issues. It's still going strong 2.5 years later and looks brand new still. Easy to clean also.I was reticent to spend such a huge amount, the attachments aren't cheap either. But I can't rate it highly enough, it's incredible!

Looked at many food mixers and their reviews. Some of the most expensive didn’t mix the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl. The Kenwood Chef review said that it did. Didn’t disappoint. Haven’t made any bread yet, but will soon. Made several cakes and have all been excellent. Would highly recommend the Kenwood Chef.

Bought to replace similar moder I bought 35 years ago. Love the stainless steel bowl. Beaters reach bottom of bowl so ingredients mix well. Quieter than my old model. Baking results are good. I've had this a month and I use 3/ 4 times a week. I'm delighted with purchase.

I bought this KVC3100S Chef to replace a Kenwood mixer I regret giving away many years ago. I love the silver colour of this machine and it is so much quieter and lighter than my old one. I've only mixed cakes so far but it performs brilliantly. I really like the addition of an optional splashguard which prevents flour and liquid flying out of the bowl when mixing ingredients. I am sad that Kenwood didn't include a cover for when the machine is not in use - but it looks handsome enough on the kitchen sideboard. Welcome home old friend!
My handheld electric mixer stopped working so I invested in this Kenwood machine, it's amazing! It makes my life so much easier and I love the splashguard, keeps my kitchen tidier. Previously I was kneeding my home-made bread by hand, this has made bread making so much easier. The bread and cakes I've made so far have all turned out well. Would recommend, to me it looks impressive, and it is impressive.
Very pleased with this mixer but disappointed that the one it has replaced only lasted 8 years.I do use it a lot and have been waiting many weeks for the new model to come back in stock. The only suggestion for a company to repair the old one meant sending it away and the minimum amount it was going to cost was over £100 with just 3 months warranty. One complaint with John Lewis was not being able to speak to someone on the shop floor by 'phone to answer a few questions. This was apparently due to the pandemic although I can't see how that would affect a telephone call. As a result, I took the advice of someone at Kenwood who told me that my attachments for the old mixer (liquidiser, mincer etc) would fit the new model. Well the mincer doesn't fit and the newer version is now no longer stocked by John Lewis. It would have been nice to have had this information before I made my purchase.
Having had older models of The Kenwood Chef, I had a biased toward this model. And I must say I am not disappointed, it's a great little machine. It's a smidge lighter than the older model's making it easier to store. The only drawback with less weight is it will move around under heavy dough mixing, not a problem, just allow for it. When used properly it performs without flaw.
I already have a Kenwood that went wrong. Ordered this but managed to fix old one as just a writing issue. I decided to buy another Kenwood because other had been going for 20 years and my parents still going after 50years! I love the splatter guard on this machine, especially great when adding liquid on full speed. Great for all cakes, shortcrust or sweet pastry, meringues, bread dough, icing and cream or whatever else you fancy making. The machine has twice the power of my old machine and half the noise but it works the same. You do have to scrape the mixture from the sides and bottom to ensure a thorough mix but s you get a Kenwood spatula with the machine that's easy enough. You can purchase lots of other attachments if you so wish (mincer, liquidiser etc) so easily expandable although when looking for replacements previously for my original machine, they are expensive in my mind. The Kenwood brand is well known for machine longevity and after personal experience of that I stayed with the brand. Easy to use and clean.
This is a good, solid machine. If the weight, (it's on the heavy side but not cumbersome), sound and observable performance is anything to go by, this will last you years. The bowl slots easily into place and the mixer angles up at a good height away from it so its easy to pour or spoon stuff in as you go.The mixing attachments get close enough to the edges of the bowl that you don't need to help ingredient into reach of the active mix.I mostly use it to mix dough and this works perfectly well. The manual offers a well laid out guide for maximum weights of different ingredients - a real help to avoid straining and damaging the machinery. The only downside is the bowl cover which is made of thin plastic. On the upside if you are setting out to equip your kitchen or ... MoreThis is a good, solid machine. On the upside if you are setting out to equip your kitchen or looking to replace old kitchen appliances, this has lots of slots for additional attachments like blenders etc on the top and front.
This is only my second Kenwood. The first one died on me recently after forty years of service. If this one lasts as long it will outlive me. This mixer has a quiet motor and is such a pleasure to use. For Kenwood fans the tools are attached in exactly the same way as on older machines. The new addition which I didn't have previously is a splashguard which would have been useful when my children were learning to bake! Also my old Kenwood didn't have a pulse function. Apart from that, and of course the motor is much more powerful. My old machine had a 500w motor. This one has a motor of 1000w. I imagine that it will have no problem kneading bread dough or making up large batches of pastry or cake mix. I imagine that it will have no problem kneading bread dough or making up large batches of pastry or cake mix. The bodywork on this model is silver and looks very nice on the worktop. It comes with a stainless steel bowl, although I find the old white bowl from my previous mixer fits just as well. The tools have adjustable height which may or may not be useful. Time will tell. When the mixer arrived the tool heights were set to fit the steel bowl exactly. All in all it feels just like welcoming back an old friend. I am glad that Kenwood have not changed too much about the design. There is a greater range of speeds on the dial and the bodywork has a more modern look, but otherwise my new Kenwood mixer is just as good as the old one, which sadly doesn't seem to happen very often these days with cheap imports replacing older more reliable machines. I didn't have any of the Kenwood attachments for my old machine so cannot comment whether attachments made years ago would fit the new Kenwood machines. However as a food mixer I am very pleased with this model and am looking forward to many years of using it.
