Unfortunately the sample did not include a lot of instructions on how to use the product best. I spent some time on the internet researching and ultimately decided to use this product prior to my regular shampoo and conditioning routine and to leave the product on for a couple of minutes. It has beautiful packaging and the smell is lovely. The product is inky black, I've never used a hair product this opaque and checked myself out in the mirror while using it. I was happy to learn that once you start the lather it is a regular soapy color and the dark color does not stay, damage or dye your hair. I've been using this product for a while now ... This was my first time using this product, actually my first time using anything from this line at all!I have used other detoxifying products in the past however, from scrubs that were textired to treatments you mix.I found this product much less harsh than other ones I've tried, which was a huge bonus for my curly hair which tends to be drier and breaks easily. This stuff is quite simply amazing! I just ordered my 2nd bottle today. I bought my first one, along with the entire Chronologiste line at a local salon. This specific product has lasted for a year! I like to use it before I shampoo as it’s intended. It leaves my hair super clean! I can get a full week of not washing my hair and it never gets greasy! I always have to shampoo my hair twice in the shower regardless so this product fits in my routine flawlessly. I am a HUGE fan of Kerastase. I used Orbie before switching to Kerastase. I believe they are part of the same company but Kerastase is less expensive and in my opinion a better product. I have tried almost every single line that Kerastase has and have never once been disappointed.

hi i go to the pool few times a week. I have a lot of kerastase productsso before swim i protect with any hair oil. after swim i use this charcoal cleanser a small bit only. rinse then follow with about a small spoonful size of kerastase shampoo which lathers so much. follow with small amount of kerastase mask and rinse. use small bit of hair protection before blowdry the the kerastase oil to shine and define. I am 67 and have long hair in beautiful condition all thanks to kerastase
