A vast improvement upon Macadamia, Morrocanoil and many other hair serums I've tried, most of which are very alcohol or silicone-heavy, and contain too little of the ingredients that make a difference, such as Argan or other carrier oils. Elixir Ultime does contain silicones but also contains beneficial ingredients, and somehow all put together in the right ratio - it works great for me, and zero oiliness or weighing down of my hair. Just a really small amount of this (1 pump is all I need) worked through my hair, whether wet or dry really transforms the condition and makes my hair that much more manageable and less frizzy. My ends are looking much better too since using this regularly. I don't mind the fragrance and love the fact that you use so little of this ... This has been my favorite and always-on-hand hair serum/oil since its release. First, it smells divine. And it’s a scent that is complimentary but never overbearing or overpowering. I love using it on wet or dry hair, but I mainly use it after blow drying or before/after flat ironing. It’s so lightweight, it smooths and nourishes your hair, and I can attest that it is helps my bleached blonde locks healthier and easier to manage. I personally using it with a styling cream like Kerastase’s thermique products (ciment being my favorite.) those two products and any shampoo masque from the nutritive line guarantee amazing hair days. And they are worth the price. I like the oleo relax serum too, but I find elixir Ultime is a bit more hydrating repairing nourishing (making ... I personally have tried tons of different hair oils. I have thick, curly long hair. I mainly use hair oils to put moisture in my hair but Kerastase hair oil does more than just that. Not only does it moisture my very dry ends I’d appears to help maintain frizz. Kerastase hair oil leave my hair looking luminous and extremely healthy. This product is versatile when it comes to when you apply it, I use it once I get out of the shower and later in the day when my hair just needs a little refreshing. One of my favorite things about this hair oil is that it doesn’t weigh down my curls nor does it leave my hair looking greasy or stringy. I will definitely be repurchasing this product. Extremely wonderful results and not to expensive either.
There is a reason this is a cult fan favorite. The whole line is a splurge when it comes to your hair care. I mix my hair care products so I rotate my higher priced items like Kerastase which lengthen the life span of each product. Some products however like this oil, I only use this one and Moroccan oil, I need so little that one bottle of this lasts me an entire year...so when I look at the cost I average that out over 12 months. My hair is very fine and to my shoulders. I'm 53 and have high lighted hair so there is damage of course from the bleaching. A little goes a very long way on hair like mine, and it can go bad FAST - lol...ask me how I know 😬 so, my pro tip is...start SMALL - a dime size amount in the palm of one hand. A little goes a very long way on hair like mine, and it can go bad FAST - lol...ask me how I know 😬 so, my pro tip is...start SMALL - a dime size amount in the palm of one hand. Rub your hands together then run your hands from the mid point of your hair to the ends really concentrating on the last inch or 2 inches of your hair. Don't take it all the way to the roots. If however you have some stubborn greys that don't like to behave you can very carefully run those pieces through just your fingers after you've finished the rest of your hair and you just have a little product left on your hands. Then go close to the root but not all the way and I take the small section of grey that is of course right in the front - sort of off to one side, I take that small section that is grey and run it thru my pointer finger and thumb, so like you are making this with your fingers 👌 and then run your fingers all the way from the top to bottom of that section of unruly hair...then I use one of those clips that don't leave marks, and pin it down while I'm dealing with the rest of my hair :) hope this helps!! This is an item I hope is always in my hair care stash.
Smells like Coco Mademoiselle perfume, amazing! The oil has a good quality (for the price, it’s the minimum I expect), has a medium density, good smell, nice finish but has nothing super special other than that. It is a good oil indeed, but you can buy other good hair oils for a cheaper price. The beautifying hair oil contains a blend of Imperial and White Tea extracts with Camellia and Marula Oils to deeply nourish tresses while amplifying colour radiance, smoothing fibres and providing heat protection up to 230°C. Lending hair a silky soft feel, the leave-in treatment will add shine and tackle frizz for visibly healthy-looking strands. Bestows hair with an alluring fragrance and mirror-like radiance. Suitable for application on both wet and dry hair.
A little goes a long way & this oil is so amazing for my dry ends & wavy, frizz prone, fine hair.I held off buying this for so long, because of the price, but I’d tried a sample & had seen what a difference it made to my hair.It doesn’t build up & feel greasy. One pump is heaps. I use this oil 1-2 x a week, starting towards the ends first.Smells amazing, but is not too overpowering.I’ve had this for a few months & have barely made a dent in the bottle, so I feel like this will last me almost a whole year. Which makes the price seem much more reasonable. If you’re up for a bit of a splurge & want a beautiful product to tame, nourish & add shine, this is really lovely.Highly recommend if your hair is anything like mine.
I love the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hydrating Hair Oil Serum. I don’t usually use serums or oils on my hair, but since trying to blow out my naturally curly hair more often I’ve noticed that it is starting to dry out with a lot of flyaways. I used this serum on my damp hair after showering and before blow drying, as well as on dry hair to give it more moisture. Both times the product worked beautifully by making my hair soft, shiny, and frizz free. It was very light weight and didn’t leave my hair feeling oily or weighed down. It does have a pretty strong scent. I enjoy the smell, but if you aren’t used to a scented product it may be overwhelming. Overall, I would definitely recommend.
Finally found my holy grail hair product!! I have very long hair that gets dry at the ends (and is currently coloured) and whatever products I use it never feels moisturised for long after washing. I've tried tons of oils and serums- from bumble and bumble to other kerastase creams and serums to olaplex bonding oil for a shot of moisture in between washes and after/before heat styling, and they're OK, but not a patch on this. It spreads easily, smells great (feminine but not overpowering) and comes in a gorgeous glass bottle. I use two pumps on damp hair before drying and another pump afterwards right on the ends. My hair just drinks it in. I can see what other reviewers mean about not needing much product - a couple of times I've put on what I thought was too much ... My hair just drinks it in. I can see what other reviewers mean about not needing much product - a couple of times I've put on what I thought was too much but after ten mins it just soaks right in. It doesn't make my hair look greasy, ever, but it does make it soooo soft and glossy. It has heat protectant in it so it literally does everything - makes hair sleek when you're blowdrying, protects it from heat damage, provides gloss and shine on dry hair once you've styled it, i even put a half pump on my ends before I go to bed to protect them. After one use my hair felt healthier. I'm never buying anything else. It's pricy but believe me it's worth it!
I bought the travel size to start. I usually use Moroccan Oil but have to be careful when using that because too much can weigh my hair down. I have fine, formerly bleached now colored hair, that within the last year went through telogen effluvium. It was very upsetting and I've been trying really hard to be extra good to my hair. This oil works great for my fine/thin hair fighting frizz and gives it lots of shine. I even use it on my toddler, who has that baby fine hair that gets wild looking after sleeping on it. It doesn't weigh either of our hair down which can happen easily. I think if you have really think hair this may not be moisturizing enough, but that's not my journey so I can't speak from experience. It is scented and I think it smells very nice.I will ...
